The $A_2$ Rogers-Ramanujan identities revisited
In this note we show how to rederive the $A_2$ Rogers-Ramanujan identities proven by Andrews, Schilling and Warnaar using cylindric partitions. This paper is dedicated to George Andrews for his $80^{th}$ birthday.
Frobenius's last proof
Around about 1917, Issai Schur rediscovered the Rogers-Ramanujan identities, and proved a system of polynomial identities that imply them. Schur wrote that Georg Frobenius (his former advisor) had shown him a simple, direct proof of these polynomial identities. Schur did not see fit to reveal Frobenius's proof, preferring his own rather complicated proof. But it is easy enough to guess what this `simple, direct' proof must have been. As Frobenius died in 1917, we may call this `Frobenius's last proof'.
Partition Inequalities and Applications to Sum-Product Conjectures of Kanade-Russell
We consider differences of one- and two-variable finite products and provide combinatorial proofs of the nonnegativity of certain coefficients. Since the products may be interpreted as generating functions for certain integer partitions, this amounts to showing a partition inequality. This extends results due to Berkovich-Garvan and McLaughlin. We then apply the first inequality and Andrews' Anti-telescoping Method to give a solution to an 'Ehrenpreis Problem' for recently conjectured sum-product identities of Kanade- Russell. That is, we provide some evidence for Kanade-Russell's conjectures by showing nonnegativity of coefficients in differences of product-sides as Andrews-Baxter and Kadell did for the product sides of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities.

We provide a bijective map from the partitions enumerated by the series side of the Rogers-Selberg mod 7 identities onto partitions associated with a special case of Basil Gordon's combinatorial generalization of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities. The implications of applying the same map to a special case of David Bressoud's even modulus analog of Gordon's theorem are also explored.

A generalized Bailey pair, which contains several special cases considered by Bailey (\emph{Proc. London Math. Soc. (2)}, 50 (1949), 421--435), is derived and used to find a number of new Rogers-Ramanujan type identities. Consideration of associated $q$-difference equations points to a connection with a mild extension of Gordon's combinatorial generalization of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities (\emph{Amer. J. Math.}, 83 (1961), 393--399). This, in turn, allows the formulation of natural combinatorial interpretations of many of the identities in Slater's list (\emph{Proc. London Math. Soc. (2)} 54 (1952), 147--167), as well as the new identities presented here. A list of 26 new double sum--product Rogers-Ramanujan type identities are included as an appendix.
Marking and shifting a part in partition theorems
Refined versions, analytic and combinatorial, are given for classical integer partition theorems. The examples include the Rogers-Ramanujan identities, the Gollnitz-Gordon identities, Euler's odd=distinct theorem, and the Andrews-Gordon identities. Generalizations of each of these theorems are given where a single part is "marked" or weighted. This allows a single part to be replaced by a new larger part, "shifting" a part, and analogous combinatorial results are given in each case. Versions are also given for marking a sum of parts.

We give an explicit recursive description of the Hilbert series and Gröbner bases for the family of quadratic ideals defining the jet schemes of a double point. We relate these recursions to the Rogers-Ramanujan identity and prove a conjecture of the second author, Oblomkov and Rasmussen.
Partitions with fixed largest hook length

Motivated by a recent paper of Straub, we study the distribution of integer partitions according to the length of their largest hook, instead of the usual statistic, namely the size of the partitions. We refine Straub's analogue of Euler's Odd-Distinct partition theorem, derive a generalization in the spirit of Alder's conjecture, as well as a curious analogue of the first Rogers-Ramanujan identity. Moreover, we obtain a partition theorem that is the counterpart of Euler's pentagonal number theory in this setting, and connect it with the Rogers-Fine identity. We concludes with some congruence properties.

We describe a method, based on the theory of Macdonald-Koornwinder polynomials, for proving bounded Littlewood identities. Our approach provides an alternative to Macdonald's partial fraction technique and results in the first examples of bounded Littlewood identities for Macdonald polynomials. These identities, which take the form of decomposition formulas for Macdonald polynomials of type $(R,S)$ in terms of ordinary Macdonald polynomials, are $q,t$-analogues of known branching formulas for characters of the symplectic, orthogonal and special orthogonal groups. In the classical limit, our method implies that MacMahon's famous ex-conjecture for the generating function of symmetric plane partitions in a box follows from the identification of $(\mathrm{GL}(n,\mathbb{R}),\mathrm{O}(n))$ as a Gelfand pair. As further applications, we obtain combinatorial formulas for characters of affine Lie algebras; Rogers-Ramanujan identities for affine Lie algebras, complementing recent results of Griffin et al.; and quadratic transformation formulas for Kaneko--Macdonald-type basic hypergeometric series.
Philip Hall's 'rather curious' formula and the Rogers-Ramanujan identities
We show that a strange group theoretical formula of Hall follows from the Rogers-Ramanujan identities.
Distinct parts partitions without sequences

Partitions without sequences of consecutive integers as parts have been studied recently by many authors, including Andrews, Holroyd, Liggett, and Romik, among others. Their results include a description of combinatorial properties, hypergeometric representations for the generating functions, and asymptotic formulas for the enumeration functions. We complete a similar investigation of partitions into distinct parts without sequences, which are of particular interest due to their relationship with the Rogers-Ramanujan identities. Our main results include a double series representation for the generating function, an asymptotic formula for the enumeration function, and several combinatorial inequalities.
IdentityFinder and some new identities of Rogers-Ramanujan type

The Rogers-Ramanujan identities and various analogous identities (Gordon, Andrews-Bressoud, Capparelli, etc.) form a family of very deep identities concerned with integer partitions. These identities (written in generating function form) are typically of the form "product side" equals "sum side," with the product side enumerating partitions obeying certain congruence conditions and the sum side obeying certain initial conditions and difference conditions (along with possibly other restrictions). We use symbolic computation to generate various such sum sides and then use Euler's algorithm to see which of them actually do produce elegant conjectured product sides. We not only rediscover many of the known identities but also discover some apparently new ones, as conjectures supported by strong mathematical evidence.

We present what we call a "motivated proof" of the Göllnitz-Gordon-Andrews identities. A similar motivated proof of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities was previously given by G. E. Andrews and R. J. Baxter, and was subsequently generalized to Gordon's identities by J. Lepowsky and M. Zhu. We anticipate that the present proof of the Göllnitz-Gordon-Andrews identities will illuminate certain twisted vertex-algebraic constructions.

We present what we call a "motivated proof" of the Andrews-Bressoud partition identities for even moduli. A "motivated proof" of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities was given by G. E. Andrews and R. J. Baxter, and this proof was generalized to the odd-moduli case of Gordon's identities by J. Lepowsky and M. Zhu. Recently, a "motivated proof" of the somewhat analogous Göllnitz-Gordon-Andrews identities has been found. In the present work, we introduce "shelves" of formal series incorporating what we call "ghost series," which allow us to pass from one shelf to the next via natural recursions, leading to our motivated proof. We anticipate that these new series will provide insight into the ongoing program of vertex-algebraic categorification of the various "motivated proofs."
Refinements of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities
Refinements of the classical Rogers-Ramanujan identities are given in which some parts are weighted. Combinatorial interpretations refining MacMahon's results are corollaries.

Here we consider the $q$-series coming from the Hall-Littlewood polynomials, \begin{equation*} R_ν(a,b;q)=\sum_{\substack{λ\\[1pt] λ_1\leq a}} q^{c|λ|} P_{2λ}\big(1,q,q^2,\dots;q^{2b+d}\big). \end{equation*} These series were defined by Griffin, Ono, and Warnaar in their work on the framework of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities. We devise a recursive method for computing the coefficients of these series when they arise within the Rogers-Ramanujan framework. Furthermore, we study the congruence properties of certain quotients and products of these series, generalizing the famous Ramanujan congruence \begin{equation*} p(5n+4)\equiv0\pmod{5}. \end{equation*}

The two Rogers-Ramanujan $q$-series \[ \sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\frac{q^{n(n+σ)}}{(1-q)\cdots (1-q^n)}, \] where $σ=0,1$, play many roles in mathematics and physics. By the Rogers-Ramanujan identities, they are essentially modular functions. Their quotient, the Rogers-Ramanujan continued fraction, has the special property that its singular values are algebraic integral units. We find a framework which extends the Rogers-Ramanujan identities to doubly-infinite families of $q$-series identities. If $a\in\{1,2\}$ and $m,n\geq 1$, then we have \[ \sum_{\substack{λλ_1\leq m}} q^{a|λ|} P_{2λ}(1,q,q^2,\dots;q^n) =\textrm{"infinite product modular function"}, \] where the $P_λ(x_1,x_2,\dots;q)$ are Hall-Littlewood polynomials. These $q$-series are specialized characters of affine Kac--Moody algebras. Generalizing the Rogers-Ramanujan continued fraction, we prove in the case of $\textrm{A}_{2n}^{(2)}$ that the relevant $q$-series quotients are integral units.
Some Families of Identities for Integer Partition Function
We give a series of recursive identities for the number of partitions with exactly $k$ parts and with constraints on both the minimal difference among the parts and the minimal part. Using these results we demonstrate that the number of partitions of $n$ is equal to the number of partitions of $2n+d{n \choose 2}$ with $n$ $d$-distant parts. We also provide a direct proof for this identity. This work is the result of our aim at finding a bijective proof for Rogers-Ramanujan identities.
The A_{2n}^{(2)} Rogers-Ramanujan identities
The famous Rogers-Ramanujan and Andrews--Gordon identities are embedded in a doubly-infinite family of Rogers-Ramanujan-type identities labelled by positive integers m and n. For fixed m and n the product side corresponds to a specialised character of the affine Kac-Moody algebra A_{2n}^{(2)} at level m, and is expressed as a product of n^2 theta functions of modulus 2m+2n+1, or by level-rank duality, as a product of m^2 theta functions. Rogers-Ramanujan-type identities for even moduli, corresponding to the affine Lie algebras C_n^{(1)} and D_{n+1}^{(2)}, are also proven.
