Quasi-crystals for arbitrary root systems and associated generalizations of the hypoplactic monoid
The hypoplactic monoid was introduced by Krob and Thibon through a presentation and through quasi-ribbon tableaux and an insertion algorithm. Just as Kashiwara crystals enriched the structure of the plactic monoid and allowed its generalization, the first and third authors of this paper introduced a construction of the hypoplactic monoid by identifying vertices in a quasi-crystal graph derived from the crystal graph associated to the general linear Lie algebra. Although this construction is based on Kashiwara's work, it cannot be extended to other crystal graphs, since the analogous quasi-Kashiwara operators on words do not admit a recursive definition. This paper addresses these issues. A general notion of quasi-crystal is introduced, followed by a study of its properties and relation with crystals. A combinatorial study of quasi-crystals is then made by associating a quasi-crystal graph to each quasi-crystal, which for the class of seminormal quasi-crystals results in a one-to-one correspondence. To model the binary operation of the hypoplactic monoid by quasi-crystals, a notion of quasi-tensor product of quasi-crystals is introduced, along with a combinatorial way of computing it similar to the signature rule for the tensor product of crystals. This framework allows the generalization of the classical hypoplactic monoid to a family of hypoplactic monoids associated to the various simple Lie algebras. The quasi-crystal structure is then used to establish algebraic properties of the hypoplactic monoid associated to the symplectic Lie algebra.
On the full Kostant-Toda lattice and the flag varieties. I. The singular solutions
The full Kostant-Toda (f-KT) lattice is a natural generalization of the classical tridiagonal Toda lattice. We study singular structure of solutions of the f-KT lattices defined on simple Lie algebras in two different ways: through the $τ$-functions and through the Kowalevski-Painlevé analysis. The $τ$-function formalism relies on and is equivalent to the representation theory of the underlying Lie algebras, while the Kowalevski-Painlevé analysis is representation independent and we are able to characterize all the terms in the Laurent series solutions of the f-KT lattices via the structure theory of the Lie algebras. Through the above analysis we compactify the initial condition spaces of f-KT lattice by the corresponding flag varieties, that is fixing the spectral parameters which are invariant under the f-KT flows, we build a one to one correspondence between solutions of the f-KT lattices and points in the corresponding flag varieties. As all the important characters we obtain in the Kowalevski-Painlevé analysis are integral valued, results in this paper are valid in any field containing the rational field.

It is known that there exists an order isomorphism between the Weyl group orbit through a minuscule weight of a simply-laced finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra and the set of all order filters in a self-dual connected d-complete poset. In this paper, we try to extend this fact to the case of multiply-laced finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras by using the "folding" technique with respect to a Dynkin diagram automorphism.

For a simply connected connected simple algebraic group $G$, it is known that a variety $B_{w_0}^-:=B^-\cap U\overline{w_0}U$ has a geometric crystal structure with a positive structure $θ^-_{\mathbf{i}}:(\mathbb{C}^{\times})^{l(w_0)}\rightarrow B_{w_0}^-$ for each reduced word $\mathbf{i}$ of the longest element $w_0$ of Weyl group. A rational function $Φ^h_{BK}=\sum_{i\in I}Δ_{w_0Λ_i,s_iΛ_i}$ on $B_{w_0}^-$ is called a half-potential, where $Δ_{w_0Λ_i,s_iΛ_i}$ is a generalized minor. Computing $Φ^h_{BK}\circ θ^-_{\mathbf{i}}$ explicitly, we get an explicit form of string cone or polyhedral realization of $B(\infty)$ for the finite dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}={\rm Lie}(G)$.
In this paper, for an arbitrary reduced word $\mathbf{i}$, we give an algorithm to compute the summand $Δ_{w_0Λ_i,s_iΛ_i}\circ θ^-_{\mathbf{i}}$ of $Φ^h_{BK}\circ θ^-_{\mathbf{i}}$ in the case $i\in I$ satisfies that for any weight $μ$ of $V(-w_0Λ_i)$ and $t\in I$, it holds $\langle h_t,μ\rangle\in\{2,1,0,-1,-2\}$. In particular, if $\mathfrak{g}$ is of type ${\rm A}_n$, ${\rm B}_n$, ${\rm C}_n$ or ${\rm D}_n$ then all $i\in I$ satisfy this condition so that one can completely calculate $Φ^h_{BK}\circ θ^-_{\mathbf{i}}$. We will also prove that our algorithm works in the case $\mathfrak{g}$ is of type ${\rm G}_2$.

For a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ admitting a non-trivial minuscule representation and a connected marked surface $Σ$ with at least two marked points and no punctures, we prove that the cluster algebra $\mathscr{A}_{\mathfrak{g},Σ}$ associated with the pair $(\mathfrak{g},Σ)$ coincides with the upper cluster algebra $\mathscr{U}_{\mathfrak{g},Σ}$. The proof is based on the fact that the function ring $\mathcal{O}(\mathcal{A}^\times_{G,Σ})$ of the moduli space of decorated twisted $G$-local systems on $Σ$ is generated by matrix coefficients of Wilson lines introduced in [IO20]. As an application, we prove that the Muller-type skein algebras $\mathscr{S}_{\mathfrak{g}, Σ}[\partial^{-1}]$ [Muller,IY23,IY22] for $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{sl}_2, \mathfrak{sl}_3,$ or $\mathfrak{sp}_4$ are isomorphic to the cluster algebras $\mathscr{A}_{\mathfrak{g}, Σ}$.

We consider generalizations of the Springer resolution of the nilpotent cone of a simple Lie algebra by replacing the cotangent bundle with certain other vector bundles over the flag variety. We show that the analogue of the Springer sheaf has as direct summands only intersection cohomology sheaves that arise in the Springer correspondence. The fibers of these general maps are nilpotent Hessenberg varieties, and we build on techniques established by De Concini, Lusztig, and Procesi to study their geometry. For example, we show that these fibers have vanishing cohomology in odd degrees. This leads to several implications for the dual picture, where we consider maps that generalize the Grothendieck-Springer resolution of the whole Lie algebra. In particular we are able to prove a conjecture of Brosnan.
As we vary the maps, the cohomology of the corresponding nilpotent Hessenberg varieties often satisfy a relation we call the geometric modular law, which also has origins in the work on De Concini, Lusztig, and Procesi. We connect this relation in type $A$ with a combinatorial modular law defined by Guay-Paquet that is satisfied by certain symmetric functions and deduce some consequences of that connection.

Let g be a simple Lie algebra, with fixed Borel subalgebra b and with Weyl group W. Expanding on previous work of Fan and Stembridge in the simply laced case, this note aims to study the fully commutative elements of W, and their connections with the spherical nilpotent orbits in g. If g is not of type G_2, it is shown that an element w in W is fully commutative if and only if the subalgebra of b determined by the inversions of w lies in the closure of a spherical nilpotent orbit. A similar characterization is also given for the ad-nilpotent ideals of b, which are parametrized by suitable elements in the affine Weyl group of g thanks to the work of Cellini and Papi.
Towards a Combinatorial Model for $q$-weight Multiplicities of Simple Lie Algebras (Extended Abstract)
Kostka-Foulkes polynomials are Lusztig's $q$-analogues of weight multiplicities for irreducible representations of semisimple Lie algebras. It has long been known that these polynomials have non-negative coefficients. A statistic on semistandard Young tableaux with partition content, called \textit{charge}, was used to give a combinatorial formula exhibiting this fact in type $A$. Defining a charge statistic beyond type $A$ has been a long-standing problem. Here, we take a completely new approach based on the definition of Kostka-Foulkes polynomials as an alternating sum over Kostant partitions, which can be thought of as formal sums of positive roots. We use a sign-reversing involution to obtain a positive expansion, in which the relevant statistic is simply the number of parts in the Kostant partitions. The hope is that the simplicity of this new crystal-like model will naturally extend to other classical types.

Given a complex simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ and a dominant weight $λ$, let $\mathcal B_λ$ be the crystal poset associated to the irreducible representation of $\mathfrak g$ with highest weight $λ$. In the first part of the article, we introduce the \emph{crystal pop-stack sorting operator} $\mathsf{Pop}_{\lozenge}\colon\mathcal B_λ\to\mathcal B_λ$, a noninvertible operator whose definition extends that of the pop-stack sorting map and the recently-introduced Coxeter pop-stack sorting operators. Every forward orbit of $\mathsf{Pop}_{\lozenge}$ contains the minimal element of $\mathcal B_λ$, which is fixed by $\mathsf{Pop}_{\lozenge}$. We prove that the maximum size of a forward orbit of $\mathsf{Pop}_{\lozenge}$ is the Coxeter number of the Weyl group of $\mathfrak g$. In the second part of the article, we characterize exactly when a type $A$ crystal is a lattice.
Orbital varieties in types $B$ and $C$
We correct the proof of the main result of an earlier paper, parametrizing orbital varieties in a complex simple Lie algebra of type $B$ or $C$ in terms of domino tableaux and showing how to compute the orbital variety attached to an element of the Weyl group in either of these types.
Orbital varieties in type $D$
We correct the proof of the main result in an earlier paper, showing how to parametrize orbital varieties in a complex simple Lie algebra of type $D$ in terms of domino tableaux and showing how to compute variety attached to any element of the Weyl group in this type.
Weak faces of highest weight modules and root systems

Chari and Greenstein [Adv. Math. 2009] introduced combinatorial subsets of the roots of a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ which were important in studying Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules over $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{g}})$ and their specializations. Later, Khare [J. Algebra. 2016] studied these subsets for many highest weight $\mathfrak{g}$-modules (in finite type), under the name of weak-$\mathbb{A}$-faces (for a subgroup $\mathbb{A}$ of $(\mathbb{R},+)$), and more generally, $(\{2\};\{1,2\})$-closed subsets. These notions extend and unify the faces of Weyl polytopes as well as the above combinatorial subsets.
In this paper, we consider these 'discrete' notions for all Kac-Moody algebras $\mathfrak{g}$, in four distinguished settings: (a) the weights of an arbitrary highest weight $\mathfrak{g}$-module $V$; (b) the convex hull of the weights of $V$; (c) the weights of the adjoint representation; (d) the roots of $\mathfrak{g}$. For (a) (resp., (b)) for all highest weight $\mathfrak{g}$-modules $V$, we show that the weak-$\mathbb{A}$-faces and $(\{2\};\{1,2\})$-closed subsets agree, and equal the sets of weights on exposed faces (resp., equal the exposed faces) of the convex hull of weights conv$_{\mathbb{R}}$ wt $V$. This completes the partial progress of Khare in finite type, and is novel in infinite type. Our proofs are type-free and self-contained.
For (c), (d) involving the root system, we similarly achieve complete classifications. For all Kac-Moody $\mathfrak{g}$ - interestingly, other than $\mathfrak{sl}_3, \widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_3}$ - we show the weak-$\mathbb{A}$-faces and $(\{2\};\{1,2\})$-closed subsets agree, and equal Weyl group translates of the sets of weights in certain 'standard faces' (which also holds for highest weight modules). This was proved by Chari and her coauthors for root systems in finite type, but is novel for other types.

For a complex finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, we introduce the notion of Q-datum, which generalizes the notion of a Dynkin quiver with a height function from the viewpoint of Weyl group combinatorics. Using this notion, we develop a unified theory describing the twisted Auslander-Reiten quivers and the twisted adapted classes introduced in [O.-Suh, J. Algebra, 2019] with an appropriate notion of the generalized Coxeter elements. As a consequence, we obtain a combinatorial formula expressing the inverse of the quantum Cartan matrix of $\mathfrak{g}$, which generalizes the result of [Hernandez-Leclerc, J. Reine Angew. Math., 2015] in the simply-laced case. We also find several applications of our combinatorial theory of Q-data to the finite-dimensional representation theory of the untwisted quantum affine algebra of $\mathfrak{g}$. In particular, in terms of Q-data and the inverse of the quantum Cartan matrix, (i) we give an alternative description of the block decomposition results due to [Chari-Moura, Int. Math. Res. Not., 2005] and [Kashiwara-Kim-O.-Park, arXiv:2003.03265], (ii) we present a unified (partially conjectural) formula of the denominators of the normalized R-matrices between all the Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules, and (iii) we compute the invariants $Λ(V,W)$ and $Λ^\infty(V, W)$ introduced in [Kashiwara-Kim-O.-Park, Compos. Math., 2020] for each pair of simple modules $V$ and $W$.
Weight $q$-multiplicities for representations of the exceptional Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_2$

Given a simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, Kostant's weight $q$-multiplicity formula is an alternating sum over the Weyl group whose terms involve the $q$-analog of Kostant's partition function. For $ξ$ (a weight of $\mathfrak{g}$), the $q$-analog of Kostant's partition function is a polynomial-valued function defined by $\wp_q(ξ)=\sum c_i q^i$ where $c_i$ is the number of ways $ξ$ can be written as a sum of $i$ positive roots of $\mathfrak{g}$. In this way, the evaluation of Kostant's weight $q$-multiplicity formula at $q = 1$ recovers the multiplicity of a weight in a highest weight representation of $\mathfrak{g}$. In this paper, we give closed formulas for computing weight $q$-multiplicities in a highest weight representation of the exceptional Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_2$.

The $q$-analog of Kostant's weight multiplicity formula is an alternating sum over a finite group, known as the Weyl group, whose terms involve the $q$-analog of Kostant's partition function. This formula, when evaluated at $q=1$, gives the multiplicity of a weight in a highest weight representation of a simple Lie algebra. In this paper, we consider the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb{C})$ and give closed formulas for the $q$-analog of Kostant's weight multiplicity. This formula depends on the following two sets of results. First, we present closed formulas for the $q$-analog of Kostant's partition function by counting restricted colored integer partitions. These formulas, when evaluated at $q=1$, recover results of De Loera and Sturmfels. Second, we describe and enumerate the Weyl alternation sets, which consist of the elements of the Weyl group that contribute nontrivially to Kostant's weight multiplicity formula. From this, we introduce Weyl alternation diagrams on the root lattice of $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb{C})$, which are associated to the Weyl alternation sets. This work answers a question posed in 2019 by Harris, Loving, Ramirez, Rennie, Rojas Kirby, Torres Davila, and Ulysse.
On sequences associated to the invariant theory of rank two simple Lie algebras
We study two families of sequences, listed in the On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences (OEIS), which are associated to invariant theory of Lie algebras. For the first family, we prove combinatorially that the sequences A059710 and A108307 are related by a binomial transform. Based on this, we present two independent proofs of a recurrence equation for A059710, which was conjectured by Mihailovs. Besides, we also give a direct proof of Mihailovs' conjecture by the method of algebraic residues. As a consequence, closed formulae for the generating function of sequence A059710 are obtained in terms of classical Gaussian hypergeometric functions. Moreover, we show that sequences in the second family are also related by binomial transforms.

We obtain an explicit crystal isomorphism between two realizations of crystal bases of finite dimensional irreducible representations of simple Lie algebras of type A and D. The first realization we consider is a geometric construction in terms of irreducible components of certain Nakajima quiver varieties established by Saito and the second is a realization in terms of isomorphism classes of quiver representations obtained by Reineke. We give a homological description of the irreducible components of Lusztig's quiver varieties which correspond to the crystal of a finite dimensional representation and describe the promotion operator in type A to obtain a geometric realization of Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals.

The multiplicity of a weight in a finite-dimensional irreducible representation of a simple Lie algebra g can be computed via Kostant's weight multiplicity formula. This formula consists of an alternating sum over the Weyl group (a finite group) and involves a partition function known as Kostant's partition function. Motivated by the observation that, in practice, most terms in the sum are zero, our main results describe the elements of the Weyl alternation sets. The Weyl alternation sets are subsets of the Weyl group which contributes nontrivially to the multiplicity of a weight in a highest weight representation of the Lie algebras so_4(C), so_5(C), sp_4(C), and the exceptional Lie algebra g_2. By taking a geometric approach, we extend the work of Harris, Lescinsky, and Mabie on sl_3(C), to provide visualizations of these Weyl alternation sets for all pairs of integral weights λand μof the Lie algebras considered.
