Analyticity of the percolation density $θ$ in all dimensions
We prove that for Bernoulli bond percolation on $\mathbb{Z}^d$, $d\geq 2$ the percolation density is an analytic function of the parameter in the supercritical interval $(p_c,1]$. This answers a question of Kesten from 1981.
Weight bounds for $(3,γ)$-hyperelliptic curves
{\it $(N,γ)$-hyperelliptic} semigroups were introduced by Fernando Torres to encapsulate the most salient properties of Weierstrass semigroups associated to totally-ramified points of $N$-fold covers of curves of genus $γ$. Torres characterized $(2,γ)$-hyperelliptic semigroups of maximal weight whenever their genus is large relative to $γ$. Here we do the same for $(3,γ)$-hyperelliptic semigroups, and we formulate a conjecture about the general case whenever $N \geq 3$ is prime.
Restricted k-color partitions, II

We consider $(k,j)$-colored partitions, partitions in which $k$ colors exist but at most $j$ colors may be chosen per size of part. In particular these generalize overpartitions. Advancing previous work, we find new congruences, including in previously unexplored cases where $k$ and $j$ are not coprime, as well as some noncongruences. As a useful aside, we give the apparently new generating function for the number of partitions in the $N \times M$ box with a given number of part sizes, and extend to multiple colors a conjecture of Dousse and Kim on unimodality in overpartitions.
Toric spaces and face enumeration on simplicial manifolds
In this paper, we study the well-know $g$-conjecture for rational homology spheres in a topological way. To do this, we construct a class of topological spaces with torus actions, which can be viewed as topological generalizations of toric varieties. Along this way we prove that after doing stellar subdivision operations at some middle dimensional faces of an arbitrary rational homology sphere, the $g$-conjecture is valid. Furthermore, we give topological proofs of several fundamental algebraic results about Buchsbaum complexes and simplicial manifolds. In this process, we also get a few interesting results in toric topology.
Sorting Permutations with Fixed Pinnacle Set

We give a positive answer to a question raised by Davis et al. ({\em Discrete Mathematics} 341, 2018), concerning permutations with the same pinnacle set. Given $π\in S_n$, a {\em pinnacle} of $π$ is an element $π_i$ ($i\neq 1,n$) such that $π_{i-1}<π_i>π_{i+1}$. The question is: given $π,π'\in S_n$ with the same pinnacle set $S$, is there a sequence of operations that transforms $π$ into $π'$ such that all the intermediate permutations have pinnacle set $S$? We introduce {\em balanced reversals}, defined as reversals that do not modify the pinnacle set of the permutation to which they are applied. Then we show that $π$ may be sorted by balanced reversals (i.e. transformed into a standard permutation $\Id_S$), implying that $π$ may be transformed into $π'$ using at most $4n-2\min\{p,3\}$ balanced reversals, where $p=|S|\geq 1$. In case $p=0$, at most $2n-1$ balanced reversals are needed.
Generalizing Zeckendorf's Theorem to Homogeneous Linear Recurrences, I

Zeckendorf's theorem states that every positive integer can be written uniquely as the sum of non-consecutive shifted Fibonacci numbers $\{F_n\}$, where we take $F_1=1$ and $F_2=2$. This has been generalized for any Positive Linear Recurrence Sequence (PLRS), which informally is a sequence satisfying a homogeneous linear recurrence with a positive leading coefficient and non-negative integer coefficients. These decompositions are generalizations of base $B$ decompositions. In this and the follow-up paper, we provide two approaches to investigate linear recurrences with leading coefficient zero, followed by non-negative integer coefficients, with differences between indices relatively prime (abbreviated ZLRR). The first approach involves generalizing the definition of a legal decomposition for a PLRS found in Koloğlu, Kopp, Miller and Wang. We prove that every positive integer $N$ has a legal decomposition for any ZLRR using the greedy algorithm. We also show that a specific family of ZLRRs loses uniqueness of decompositions. The second approach converts a ZLRR to a PLRR that has the same growth rate. We develop the Zeroing Algorithm, a powerful helper tool for analyzing the behavior of linear recurrence sequences. We use it to prove a very general result that guarantees the possibility of conversion between certain recurrences, and develop a method to quickly determine whether certain sequences diverge to $+\infty$ or $-\infty$, given any real initial values. This paper investigates the first approach.

We study the balance of $G$-gain graphs, where $G$ is an arbitrary group, by investigating their adjacency matrices and their spectra. As a first step, we characterize switching equivalence and balance of gain graphs in terms of their adjacency matrices in $M_n(\mathbb C G)$. Then we introduce a represented adjacency matrix, associated with a gain graph and a group representation, by extending the theory of Fourier transforms from the group algebra $\mathbb C G$ to the algebra $M_n(\mathbb C G)$. We prove that a gain graph is balanced if and only if the spectrum of the represented adjacency matrix associated with any (or equivalently all) faithful unitary representation of $G$ coincides with the spectrum of the underlying graph, with multiplicity given by the degree of the representation. We show that the complex adjacency matrix of unit gain graphs and the adjacency matrix of a cover graph are indeed particular cases of our construction. This enables us to recover some classical results and prove some new characterizations of balance in terms of spectrum, index or structure of these graphs.

The Dushnik-Miller dimension of a partially-ordered set $P$ is the smallest $d$ such that one can embed $P$ into a product of $d$ linear orders. We prove that the dimension of the divisibility order on the interval $\{1, \dotsc, n\}$, is equal to ${(\log n)^2}(\log\log n)^{-Θ(1)}$ as $n$ goes to infinity.
We prove similar bounds for the $2$-dimension of divisibility in $\{1, \dotsc, n\}$, where the $2$-dimension of a poset $P$ is the smallest $d$ such that $P$ is isomorphic to a suborder of the subset lattice of $[d]$. We also prove an upper bound for the $2$-dimension of posets of bounded degree and show that the $2$-dimension of the divisibility poset on the set $(αn, n]$ is $Θ_α(\log n)$ for $α\in (0,1)$. At the end we pose several problems.

Two method for computation of the spectra of certain infinite graphs are suggested. The first one can be viewed as a reversed Gram--Schmidt orthogonalization procedure. It relies heavily on the spectral theory of Jacobi matrices. The second method is related to the Schur complement for block matrices. A number of examples including infinite graphs with tails, chains of cycles and ladders are worked out in detail.
The local dimension of suborders of the Boolean lattice
We prove upper and lower bounds on the local dimension of any pair of layers of the Boolean lattice, and show that the local dimension of the first and middle layers of the $n$-dimensional Boolean lattice is asymptotically $\frac{n}{\log_2 n}$ as $n\to\infty$. Previously, all that was known was a lower bound of $Ω(n/\log n)$ and an upper bound of $n$.
Improving a result of Kim, Martin, Masařík, Shull, Smith, Uzzell, and Wang, we also prove that that the maximum local dimension of an $n$-element poset is at least $\left(\frac{1}{4}-o(1)\right)\frac{n}{\log_2 n}$.
Counting directed acyclic and elementary digraphs
Directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) can be characterised as directed graphs whose strongly connected components are isolated vertices. Using this restriction on the strong components, we discover that when $m = cn$, where $m$ is the number of directed edges, $n$ is the number of vertices, and $c < 1$, the asymptotic probability that a random digraph is acyclic is an explicit function $p(c)$, such that $p(0) = 1$ and $p(1) = 0$. When $m = n(1 + μn^{-1/3})$, the asymptotic behaviour changes, and the probability that a digraph is acyclic becomes $n^{-1/3} C(μ)$, where $C(μ)$ is an explicit function of $μ$. Łuczak and Seierstad (2009, Random Structures & Algorithms, 35(3), 271--293) showed that, as $μ\to -\infty$, the strongly connected components of a random digraph with $n$ vertices and $m = n(1 + μn^{-1/3})$ directed edges are, with high probability, only isolated vertices and cycles. We call such digraphs elementary digraphs. We express the probability that a random digraph is elementary as a function of $μ$. Those results are obtained using techniques from analytic combinatorics, developed in particular to study random graphs.
Linear sets from projection of Desarguesian spreads

Every linear set in a Galois space is the projection of a subgeometry, and most known characterizations of linear sets are given under this point of view. For instance, scattered linear sets of pseudoregulus type are obtained by considering a Desarguesian spread of a subgeometry and projecting from a vertex which is spanned by all but two director spaces. In this paper we introduce the concept of linear sets of $h$-pseudoregulus type, which turns out to be projected from the span of an arbitrary number of director spaces of a Desarguesian spread of a subgeometry. Among these linear sets, we characterize those which are $h$-scattered and solve the equivalence problem between them; a key role is played by an algebraic tool recently introduced in the literature and known as Moore exponent set. As a byproduct, we classify asymptotically $h$-scattered linear sets of $h$-pseudoregulus type.

The eternal graph colouring problem, recently introduced by Klostermeyer and Mendoza, is a version of the graph colouring game, where two players take turns properly colouring a graph. In this note, we study the eternal game chromatic number of random graphs. We show that with high probability $χ_{g}^{\infty}(G_{n,p}) = (\frac{p}{2} + o(1))n$ for odd $n$, and also for even $n$ when $p=\frac{1}{k}$ for some $k \in \mathbb{N}$. The upper bound applies for even $n$ and any other value of $p$ as well, but we conjecture in this case this upper bound is not sharp. Finally, we answer a question posed by Klostermeyer and Mendoza.
Proximity in Triangulations and Quadrangulations

Let $ G $ be a connected graph. If $\barσ(v)$ denotes the arithmetic mean of the distances from $v$ to all other vertices of $G$, then the proximity, $π(G)$, of $G$ is defined as the smallest value of $\barσ(v)$ over all vertices $v$ of $G$. We give upper bounds for the proximity of simple triangulations and quadrangulations of given order and connectivity. We also construct simple triangulations and quadrangulations of given order and connectivity that match the upper bounds asymptotically and are likely optimal.

Characterizations of the Borel triangle and Borel polynomials
We use Riordan array theory to give characterizations of the Borel triangle and its associated polynomial sequence. We show that the Borel polynomials are the moment sequence for a family of orthogonal polynomials whose coefficient array is a Riordan array. The role of the Catalan matrix in defining the Borel triangle is examined. We generalize the Borel triangle to a family of two parameter triangles. Generating functions are expressed as Jacobi continued fractions, as well as the zeros of appropriate quadratic expressions. The Borel triangle is exhibited as a Hadamard product of matrices. We investigate the reversions of the triangles studied. We introduce the notion of Fuss-Borel triangles and Fuss-Catalan triangles. We end with some remarks on the Catalan triangle.

A uniquely $k$-colourable graph is a graph with exactly one partition of the vertex set into at most $k$ colour classes. Here, we investigate some constructions of uniquely $k$-colourable graphs and give a construction of $K_k$-free uniquely $k$-colourable graphs with equal colour class sizes.

We introduce a class of posets, which includes both ribbon posets (skew shapes) and $d$-complete posets, such that their number of linear extensions is given by a determinant of a matrix whose entries are products of hook lengths. We also give $q$-analogues of this determinantal formula in terms of the major index and inversion statistics. As applications, we give families of tree posets whose numbers of linear extensions are given by generalizations of Euler numbers, we draw relations to Naruse-Okada's positive formulas for the number of linear extensions of skew $d$-complete posets, and we give polynomiality results analogous to those of descent polynomials by Diaz-López, Harris, Insko, Omar, and Sagan.
High dimensional expansion using zig-zag product
We wish to renew the discussion over recent combinatorial structures that are 3-uniform hypergraph expanders, viewing them in a more general perspective, shedding light on a previously unknown relation to the zig-zag product. We do so by introducing a new structure called triplet structure, that maintains the same local environment around each vertex. The structure is expected to yield, in some cases, a bounded family of hypergraph expanders whose 2-dimensional random walk converges. We have applied the results obtained here to several known constructions, obtaining a better expansion rate than previously known. Namely, we did so in the case of Conlon's construction and the $S=[1,1,0]$ construction by Chapman, Linal and Peled.

In this paper, we give a type B analogue of the 1/k-Eulerian polynomials. Properties of this kind of polynomials, including combinatorial interpretations, recurrence relations and gamma-positivity are studied. In particular, we show that the 1/k-Eulerian polynomials of type B are gamma-positive when $k>0$. Moreover, we obtain the corresponding results for derangements of type B. We show that a type B 1/k-derangement polynomials $d_n^B(x;k)$ are bi-gamma-positive when $k\geq 1/2$. In particular, we get a symmetric decomposition of $d_n^B(x;1/2)$ in terms of the classical derangement polynomials.
