Geometric realizations of Tamari interval lattices via cubic coordinates
We introduce cubic coordinates, which are integer words encoding intervals in the Tamari lattices. Cubic coordinates are in bijection with interval-posets, themselves known to be in bijection with Tamari intervals. We show that in each degree the set of cubic coordinates forms a lattice, isomorphic to the lattice of Tamari intervals. Geometric realizations are naturally obtained by placing cubic coordinates in space, highlighting some of their properties. We consider the cellular structure of these realizations. Finally, we show that the poset of cubic coordinates is shellable.

Bukh and Zhou conjectured that the expectation of the length of the longest common subsequence of two i.i.d random permutations of size $n$ is greater than $\sqrt{n}$. We prove in this paper that there exists a universal constant $n_1$ such that their conjecture is satisfied for any pair of i.i.d random permutations of size greater than $n_1$ with distribution invariant under conjugation.
We prove also that asymptotically, this expectation is at least of order $2\sqrt{n}$ which is the asymptotic behaviour of the uniform setting. More generally, in the case where the laws of the two permutations are not necessarily the same, we gibe a lower bound for the expectation. In particular, we prove that if one of the permutations is invariant under conjugation and with a good control of the expectation of the number of its cycles, the limiting fluctuations of the length of the longest common subsequence are of Tracy-Widom type. This result holds independently of the law of the second permutation.

We study $f$-vectors, which are the maximal degree vectors of $F$-polynomials in cluster algebra theory. For a cluster algebra is of finite type, we find that positive $f$-vectors correspond with $d$-vectors, which are exponent vectors of denominators of cluster variables. Furthermore, using this correspondence and properties of $d$-vectors, we prove that cluster variables in a cluster are uniquely determined by their $f$-vectors when the cluster algebra is of finite type or rank $2$.
Erdös-Pósa property of minor-models with prescribed vertex sets
A minor-model of a graph $H$ in a graph $G$ is a subgraph of $G$ that can be contracted to $H$. We prove that for a positive integer $\ell$ and a non-empty planar graph $H$ with at least $\ell-1$ connected components, there exists a function $f_{H, \ell}:\mathbb{N}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ satisfying the property that every graph $G$ with a family of vertex subsets $Z_1, \ldots, Z_m$ contains either $k$ pairwise vertex-disjoint minor-models of $H$ each intersecting at least $\ell$ sets among prescribed vertex sets, or a vertex subset of size at most $f_{H, \ell}(k)$ that meets all such minor-models of $H$. This function $f_{H, \ell}$ is independent with the number $m$ of given sets, and thus, our result generalizes Mader's $\mathcal S$-path Theorem, by applying $\ell=2$ and $H$ to be the one-vertex graph. We prove that such a function $f_{H, \ell}$ does not exist if $H$ consists of at most $\ell-2$ connected components.
Some variations on Lyndon words
In this paper we compare two finite words $u$ and $v$ by the lexicographical order of the infinite words $u^ω$ and $v^ω$. Informally, we say that we compare $u$ and $v$ by the infinite order. We show several properties of Lyndon words expressed using this infinite order. The innovative aspect of this approach is that it allows to take into account also non trivial conditions on the prefixes of a word, instead that only on the suffixes. In particular, we derive a result of Ufnarovskij [V. Ufnarovskij, "Combinatorial and asymptotic methods in algebra", 1995] that characterizes a Lyndon word as a word which is greater, with respect to the infinite order, than all its prefixes. Motivated by this result, we introduce the prefix standard permutation of a Lyndon word and the corresponding (left) Cartesian tree. We prove that the left Cartesian tree is equal to the left Lyndon tree, defined by the left standard factorization of Viennot [G. Viennot, "Algèbres de Lie libres et monoïdes libres", 1978]. This result is dual with respect to a theorem of Hohlweg and Reutenauer [C. Hohlweg and C. Reutenauer, "Lyndon words, permutations and trees", 2003].
Asymptotic sign coherence conjecture

The sign coherence phenomenon is an important feature of c-vectors in cluster algebras with principal coefficients. In this note, we consider a more general version of c-vectors defined for arbitrary cluster algebras of geometric type and formulate a conjecture describing their asymptotic behavior. This conjecture, which is called the asymptotic sign coherence conjecture, states that for any infinite sequence of matrix mutations that satisfies certain natural conditions, the corresponding c-vectors eventually become sign coherent. We prove this conjecture for rank 2 cluster algebras of infinite type and for a particular sequence of mutations in a cluster algebra associated with the Markov quiver.

We study the combinatorics of Gröbner degenerations of Grassmannians and the Schubert varieties inside them. We provide a family of binomial ideals whose combinatorics is governed by tableaux induced by matching fields in the sense of Sturmfels and Zelevinsky. We prove that these ideals are all quadratically generated and they yield a SAGBI basis of the Plücker algebra. This leads to a new family of toric degenerations of Grassmannians. Moreover, we apply our results to construct a family of Gröbner degenerations of Schubert varieties inside Grassmannians. We provide a complete characterization of toric ideals among these degenerations in terms of the combinatorics of matching fields, permutations, and semi-standard tableaux.
Random walks and forbidden minors II: A $\text{poly}(d\varepsilon^{-1})$-query tester for minor-closed properties of bounded-degree graphs
Let $G$ be a graph with $n$ vertices and maximum degree $d$. Fix some minor-closed property $\mathcal{P}$ (such as planarity). We say that $G$ is $\varepsilon$-far from $\mathcal{P}$ if one has to remove $\varepsilon dn$ edges to make it have $\mathcal{P}$. The problem of property testing $\mathcal{P}$ was introduced in the seminal work of Benjamini-Schramm-Shapira (STOC 2008) that gave a tester with query complexity triply exponential in $\varepsilon^{-1}$. Levi-Ron (TALG 2015) have given the best tester to date, with a quasipolynomial (in $\varepsilon^{-1}$) query complexity. It is an open problem to get property testers whose query complexity is $\text{poly}(d\varepsilon^{-1})$, even for planarity.
In this paper, we resolve this open question. For any minor-closed property, we give a tester with query complexity $d\cdot \text{poly}(\varepsilon^{-1})$. The previous line of work on (independent of $n$, two-sided) testers is primarily combinatorial. Our work, on the other hand, employs techniques from spectral graph theory. This paper is a continuation of recent work of the authors (FOCS 2018) analyzing random walk algorithms that find forbidden minors.

Hook-content formula using excited Young diagrams
We construct a hook-content formula and its $q$-analog using excited Young diagrams analogous to Naruse's hook-length formula for skew shapes. Furthermore, we show that our hook-content formula has a simple factorization and give some conjectures and questions related to its $q$-analog.

A graph puzzle ${\rm Puz}(G)$ of a graph $G$ is defined as follows. A configuration of ${\rm Puz}(G)$ is a bijection from the set of vertices of a board graph to the set of vertices of a pebble graph, both graphs being isomorphic to some input graph $G$. A move of pebbles is defined as exchanging two pebbles which are adjacent on both a board graph and a pebble graph. For a pair of configurations $f$ and $g$, we say that $f$ is equivalent to $g$ if $f$ can be transformed into $g$ by a finite sequence of moves.
Let ${\rm Aut}(G)$ be the automorphism group of $G$, and let ${\rm 1}_G$ be the unit element of ${\rm Aut}(G)$. The pebble exchange group of $G$, denoted by ${\rm Peb}(G)$, is defined as the set of all automorphisms $f$ of $G$ such that ${\rm 1}_G$ and $f$ are equivalent to each other.
In this paper, some basic properties of ${\rm Peb}(G)$ are studied. Among other results, it is shown that for any connected graph $G$, all automorphisms of $G$ are contained in ${\rm Peb}(G^2)$, where $G^2$ is a square graph of $G$.
Palindromes in finite groups and the Explorer-Director game
In this paper, we use the notion of twisted subgroups (i.e., subsets of group elements closed under the binary operation $(a,b) \mapsto aba$) to provide the first structural characterization of optimal play in the Explorer-Director game, introduced as the Magnus-Derek game by Nedev and Muthukrishnan and generalized to finite groups by Gerbner. In particular, we reduce the game to the problem of finding the largest proper twisted subgroup, and as a corollary we resolve the Explorer-Director game completely for all nilpotent groups.
The Möbius function of ${\rm PSL}(3,2^p)$ for any prime $p$
Let $G$ be the simple group ${\rm PSL}(3,2^p)$, where $p$ is a prime number. For any subgroup $H$ of $G$, we compute the Möbius function of $H$ in the subgroup lattice of $G$. To this aim, we describe the intersections of maximal subgroups of $G$. We point out some connections of the Möbius function with other combinatorial objects, and, in this context, we compute the reduced Euler characteristic of the order complex of the subposet of $r$-subgroups of ${\rm PGL}(3,q)$, for any prime $r$ and any prime power $q$.

We provide several new $q$-congruences for truncated basic hypergeometric series with the base being an even power of $q$. Our results mainly concern congruences modulo the square or the cube of a cyclotomic polynomial and complement corresponding ones of an earlier paper containing $q$-congruences for truncated basic hypergeometric series with the base being an odd power of $q$. We also give a number of related conjectures including $q$-congruences modulo the fifth power of a cyclotomic polynomial and a congruence for a truncated ordinary hypergeometric series modulo the seventh power of a prime greater than 3.
On the combinatorics of string polytopes
For a reduced word ${\bf i}$ of the longest element in the Weyl group of $\mathrm{SL}_{n+1}(\mathbb{C})$, one can associate the string cone $C_{\bf i}$ which parametrizes the dual canonical bases. In this paper, we classify all ${\bf i}$'s such that $C_{\bf i}$ is simplicial. We also prove that for any regular dominant weight $λ$ of $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}(\mathbb{C})$, the corresponding string polytope $Δ_{\bf i}(λ)$ is unimodularly equivalent to the Gelfand-Cetlin polytope associated to $λ$ if and only if $C_{\bf i}$ is simplicial. Thus we completely characterize Gelfand-Cetlin type string polytopes in terms of ${\bf i}$.
An Improved Error Term for Tur$\acute{\rm a}$n Number of Expanded Non-degenerate 2-graphs
For a 2-graph $F$, let $H_F^{(r)}$ be the $r$-graph obtained from $F$ by enlarging each edge with a new set of $r-2$ vertices. We show that if $χ(F)=\ell>r \geq 2$, then $ {\rm ex}(n,H_F^{(r)})= t_r (n,\ell-1)+ Θ( {\rm biex}(n,F)n^{r-2}),$ where $t_r (n,\ell-1)$ is the number of edges of an $n$-vertex complete balanced $\ell-1$ partite $r$-graph and ${\rm biex}(n,F)$ is the extremal number of the decomposition family of $F$. Since ${\rm biex}(n,F)=O(n^{2-γ})$ for some $γ>0$, this improves on the bound ${\rm ex}(n,H_F^{(r)})= t_r (n,\ell-1)+ o(n^r)$ by Mubayi (2016). Furthermore, our result implies that ${\rm ex}(n,H_F^{(r)})= t_r (n,\ell-1)$ when $F$ is edge-critical, which is an extension of the result of Pikhurko (2013).
Restricted online Ramsey numbers of matchings and trees
Consider a two-player game between players Builder and Painter. Painter begins the game by picking a coloring of the edges of $K_n$, which is hidden from Builder. In each round, Builder points to an edge and Painter reveals its color. Builder's goal is to locate a particular monochromatic structure in Painter's coloring by revealing the color of as few edges as possible. The fewest number of turns required for Builder to win this game is known as the restricted online Ramsey number. In this paper, we consider the situation where this "particular monochromatic structure" is a large matching or a large tree. We show that in any $t$-coloring of $E(K_n)$, Builder can locate a monochromatic matching on at least ${n-t+1\over t+1}$ edges by revealing at most $O(n\log t)$ edges. We show also that in any $3$-coloring of $E(K_n)$, Builder can locate a monochromatic tree on at least $n/2$ vertices by revealing at most $5n$ edges.
On the longest common subsequence of Thue-Morse words
The length $a(n)$ of the longest common subsequence of the $n$'th Thue-Morse word and its bitwise complement is studied. An open problem suggested by Jean Berstel in 2006 is to find a formula for $a(n)$. In this paper we prove new lower bounds on $a(n)$ by explicitly constructing a common subsequence between the Thue-Morse words and their bitwise complement. We obtain the lower bound $a(n) = 2^{n}(1-o(1))$, saying that when $n$ grows large, the fraction of omitted symbols in the longest common subsequence of the $n$'th Thue-Morse word and its bitwise complement goes to $0$. We further generalize to any prefix of the Thue-Morse sequence, where we prove similar lower bounds.
Borel sets of Rado graphs and Ramsey's Theorem
The well-known Galvin-Prikry Theorem states that Borel subsets of the Baire space are Ramsey: Given any Borel subset $\mathcal{X}\subseteq [ω]^ω$, where $[ω]^ω$ is endowed with the metric topology, each infinite subset $X\subseteq ω$ contains an infinite subset $Y\subseteq X$ such that $[Y]^ω$ is either contained in $\mathcal{X}$ or disjoint from $\mathcal{X}$. Kechris, Pestov, and Todorcevic point out in their seminal 2005 paper the dearth of similar results for homogeneous structures. Such results are a necessary step to the larger goal of finding a correspondence between structures with infinite dimensional Ramsey properties and topological dynamics, extending their correspondence between the Ramsey property and extreme amenability. In this article, we prove an analogue of the Galvin-Prikry theorem for the Rado graph. Any such infinite dimensional Ramsey theorem is subject to constraints following from the 2006 work of Laflamme, Sauer, and Vuksanovic. The proof uses techniques developed for the author's work on the Ramsey theory of the Henson graphs as well as some new methods for fusion sequences, used to bypass the lack of a certain amalgamation property enjoyed by the Baire space.
Equitable 2-partitions of the Hamming graphs with the second eigenvalue
The eigenvalues of the Hamming graph $H(n,q)$ are known to be $λ_i(n,q)=(q-1)n-qi$, $0\leq i \leq n$. The characterization of equitable 2-partitions of the Hamming graphs $H(n,q)$ with eigenvalue $λ_{1}(n,q)$ was obtained by Meyerowitz in [15]. We study the equitable 2-partitions of $H(n,q)$ with eigenvalue $λ_{2}(n,q)$. We show that these partitions are reduced to equitable 2-partitions of $H(3,q)$ with eigenvalue $λ_{2}(3,q)$ with exception of two constructions.
