We study support $τ$-tilting modules over preprojective algebras of Dynkin type. We classify basic support $τ$-tilting modules by giving a bijection with elements in the corresponding Weyl groups. Moreover we show that they are in bijection with the set of torsion classes, the set of torsion-free classes and other important objects in representation theory. We also study $g$-matrices of support $τ$-tilting modules, which show terms of minimal projective presentations of indecomposable direct summands. We give an explicit description of $g$-matrices and prove that cones given by $g$-matrices coincide with chambers of the associated root systems.
Weighted Coxeter graphs and generalized geometric representations of Coxeter Groups

We introduce the notion of weighted Coxeter graph and associate to it a certain generalization of the standard geometric representation of a Coxeter group. We prove sufficient conditions for faithfulness and non-faithfulness of such a representation. In the case when the weighted Coxeter graph is balanced we discuss how the generalized geometric representation is related to the numbers game played on the Coxeter graph.
Kronecker products, characters, partitions, and the tensor square conjectures

We study the remarkable Saxl conjecture which states that tensor squares of certain irreducible representations of the symmetric groups S_n contain all irreducibles as their constituents. Our main result is that they contain representations corresponding to hooks and two row Young diagrams. For that, we develop a new sufficient condition for the positivity of Kronecker coefficients in terms of characters, and use combinatorics of rim hook tableaux combined with known results on unimodality of certain partition functions. We also present connections and speculations on random characters of S_n.

We give a combinatorial characterization of minimally rigid planar frameworks with orientation-preserving crystallographic symmetry, under the constraint of forced symmetry. The main theorems are proved by extending the methods of the first paper in this sequence from groups generated by a single rotation to groups generated by translations and rotations. The proofs make use of a new family of matroids defined on crystallographic groups and associated submodular functions.
Convex and subharmonic functions on graphs

We explore the relationship between convex and subharmonic functions on discrete sets. Our principal concern is to determine the setting in which a convex function is necessarily subharmonic. We initially consider the primary notions of convexity on graphs and show that more structure is needed to establish the desired result. To that end, we consider a notion of convexity defined on lattice-like graphs generated by normed abelian groups. For this class of graphs, we are able to prove that all convex functions are subharmonic.

Let $W$ be a Coxeter group, and for $u,v\in W$, let $R_{u,v}(q)$ be the Kazhdan-Lusztig $R$-polynomial indexed by $u$ and $v$. In this paper, we present a combinatorial proof of the inversion formula on $R$-polynomials due to Kazhdan and Lusztig. This problem was raised by Brenti. Based on Dyer's combinatorial interpretation of the $R$-polynomials in terms of increasing Bruhat paths, we reformulate the inversion formula in terms of $V$-paths. By a $V$-path from $u$ to $v$ with bottom $w$ we mean a pair $(Δ_1,Δ_2)$ of Bruhat paths such that $Δ_1$ is a decreasing path from $u$ to $w$ and $Δ_2$ is an increasing path from $w$ to $v$. We find a reflection principle on $V$-paths, which leads to a combinatorial proof of the inversion formula. Moreover, we give two applications of the reflection principle. First, we restrict this involution to $V$-paths from $u$ to $v$ with maximal length. This provides a direct interpretation for the equi-distribution property that any nontrivial interval $[u,v]$ has as many elements of even length as elements of odd length. This property was obtained by Verma in his derivation of the Möbius function of the Bruhat order. Second, using the reflection principle for the symmetric group, we obtain a refinement of the inversion formula by restricting the summation to permutations ending with a given element.
The Cohen-Lenstra heuristics, moments and $p^j$-ranks of some groups

This article deals with the coherence of the model given by the Cohen-Lenstra heuristic philosophy for class groups and also for their generalizations to Tate-Shafarevich groups. More precisely, our first goal is to extend a previous result due to E. Fouvry and J. Klüners which proves that a conjecture provided by the Cohen-Lenstra philosophy implies another such conjecture. As a consequence of our work, we can deduce, for example, a conjecture for the probability laws of $p^j$-ranks of Selmer groups of elliptic curves. This is compatible with some theoretical works and other classical conjectures.
Imaginary cones and limit roots of infinite Coxeter groups

Let (W,S) be an infinite Coxeter system. To each geometric representation of W is associated a root system. While a root system lives in the positive side of the isotropy cone of its associated bilinear form, an imaginary cone lives in the negative side of the isotropic cone. Precisely on the isotropic cone, between root systems and imaginary cones, lives the set E of limit points of the directions of roots (see arXiv:1112.5415). In this article we study the close relations of the imaginary cone (see arXiv:1210.5206) with the set E, which leads to new fundamental results about the structure of geometric representations of infinite Coxeter groups. In particular, we show that the W-action on E is minimal and faithful, and that E and the imaginary cone can be approximated arbitrarily well by sets of limit roots and imaginary cones of universal root subsystems of W, i.e., root systems for Coxeter groups without braid relations (the free object for Coxeter groups). Finally, we discuss open questions as well as the possible relevance of our framework in other areas such as geometric group theory.
Symmetry Type Graphs of Abstract Polytopes and Maniplexes

A $k$-orbit maniplex is one that has $k$ orbits of flags under the action of its automorphism group. In this paper we extend the notion of symmetry type graphs of maps to that of maniplexes and polytopes and make use of them to study $k$-orbit maniplexes, as well as fully-transitive 3-maniplexes. In particular, we show that there are no fully-transtive $k$-orbit 3-mainplexes with $k > 1$ an odd number, we classify 3-orbit mainplexes and determine all face transitivities for 3- and 4-orbit maniplexes. Moreover, we give generators of the automorphism group of a polytope or a maniplex, given its symmetry type graph. Finally, we extend these notions to oriented polytopes, in particular we classify oriented 2-orbit maniplexes and give generators for their orientation preserving automorphism group.
Curve neighborhoods of Schubert varieties

A previous result of the authors with Chaput and Perrin states that the union of all rational curves of fixed degree passing through a Schubert variety in a homogeneous space G/P is again a Schubert variety. In this paper we identify this Schubert variety explicitly in terms of the Hecke product of Weyl group elements. We apply our result to give an explicit formula for any two-point Gromov-Witten invariant as well as a new proof of the quantum Chevalley formula and its equivariant generalization. We also recover a formula for the minimal degree of a rational curve between two given points in a cominuscule variety.
Multi-Group Testing for Items with Real-Valued Status under Standard Arithmetic

This paper proposes a novel generalization of group testing, called multi-group testing, which relaxes the notion of "testing subset" in group testing to "testing multi-set". The generalization aims to learn more information of each item to be tested rather than identify only defectives as was done in conventional group testing. This paper provides efficient nonadaptive strategies for the multi-group testing problem. The major tool is a new structure, $q$-ary additive $(w,d)$-disjunct matrix, which is a generalization of the well-known binary disjunct matrix introduced by Kautz and Singleton in 1964.
Automorphisms of Cayley graphs generated by transposition sets
Let $S$ be a set of transpositions such that the girth of the transposition graph of $S$ is at least 5. It is shown that the automorphism group of the Cayley graph of the permutation group $H$ generated by $S$ is the semidirect product $R(H) \rtimes \Aut(H,S)$, where $R(H)$ is the right regular representation of $H$ and $\Aut(H,S)$ is the set of automorphisms of $H$ that fixes $S$ setwise. Furthermore, if the connected components of the transposition graph of $S$ are isomorphic to each other, then $\Aut(H,S)$ is isomorphic to the automorphism group of the line graph of the transposition graph of $S$. This result is a common generalization of previous results by Feng, Ganesan, Harary, Mirafzal, and Zhang and Huang. As another special case, we obtain the automorphism group of the extended cube graph that was proposed as a topology for interconnection networks.
Descent sets for symplectic groups

The descent set of an oscillating (or up-down) tableau is introduced. This descent set plays the same role in the representation theory of the symplectic groups as the descent set of a standard tableau plays in the representation theory of the general linear groups. In particular, we show that the descent set is preserved by Sundaram's correspondence. This gives a direct combinatorial interpretation of the branching rules for the defining representations of the symplectic groups; equivalently, for the Frobenius character of the action of a symmetric group on an isotypic subspace in a tensor power of the defining representation of a symplectic group.
Extending the parking space

The action of the symmetric group $S_n$ on the set $Park_n$ of parking functions of size $n$ has received a great deal of attention in algebraic combinatorics. We prove that the action of $S_n$ on $Park_n$ extends to an action of $S_{n+1}$. More precisely, we construct a graded $S_{n+1}$-module $V_n$ such that the restriction of $V_n$ to $S_n$ is isomorphic to $Park_n$. We describe the $S_n$-Frobenius characters of the module $V_n$ in all degrees and describe the $S_{n+1}$-Frobenius characters of $V_n$ in extreme degrees. We give a bivariate generalization $V_n^{(\ell, m)}$ of our module $V_n$ whose representation theory is governed by a bivariate generalization of Dyck paths. A Fuss generalization of our results is a special case of this bivariate generalization.
Non-uniqueness phase of Bernoulli percolation on reflection groups for some polyhedra in H^3

In the present paper I consider Cayley graphs of reflection groups of finite-sided Coxeter polyhedra in 3-dimensional hyperbolic space H^3, with standard sets of generators. As the main result, I prove the existence of non-trivial non-uniqueness phase of bond and site Bernoulli percolation on such graphs, i.e. that p_c < p_u, for two classes of such polyhedra:
* for any k-hedra as above with k at least 13;
* for any compact right-angled polyhedra as above.
I also establish a natural lower bound for the growth rate of such Cayley graphs (when the number of faces of the polyhedron is at least 6; see thm. 5.2) and an upper bound for the growth rate of the sequence (#{simple cycles of length n through o})_n for a regular graph of degree at least 2 with a distinguished vertex o, depending on its spectral radius (see thm. 5.1 and rem. 2.3), both used to prove the main result.
Degree and algebraic properties of lattice and matrix ideals

We study the degree of non-homogeneous lattice ideals over arbitrary fields, and give formulae to compute the degree in terms of the torsion of certain factor groups of Z^s and in terms of relative volumes of lattice polytopes. We also study primary decompositions of lattice ideals over an arbitrary field using the Eisenbud-Sturmfels theory of binomial ideals over algebraically closed fields. We then use these results to study certain families of integer matrices (PCB, GPCB, CB, GCB matrices) and the algebra of their corresponding matrix ideals. In particular, the family of generalized positive critical binomial matrices (GPCB matrices) is shown to be closed under transposition, and previous results for PCB ideals are extended to GPCB ideals. Then, more particularly, we give some applications to the theory of 1-dimensional binomial ideals. If G is a connected graph, we show as a further application that the order of its sandpile group is the degree of the Laplacian ideal and the degree of the toppling ideal. We also use our earlier results to give a structure theorem for graded lattice ideals of dimension 1 in 3 variables and for homogeneous lattices in Z^3 in terms of critical binomial ideals (CB ideals) and critical binomial matrices, respectively, thus complementing a well-known theorem of Herzog on the toric ideal of a monomial space curve.

We discuss functions from the edges and vertices of a directed graph to an Abelian group. Such functions, when the sum of their values along any cycle is zero, are called balanced and form an Abelian group. We study this group in two cases: when we allowed to walk against the direction of an edge taking the opposite value of the function and when we are not allowed to walk against the direction.
Derangements in Subspace Actions of Finite Classical Groups

This is the third in a series of papers in which we prove a conjecture of Boston and Shalev that the proportion of derangements (fixed point free elements) is bounded away from zero for transitive actions of finite simple groups on a set of size greater than one. This paper treats the case of primitive subspace actions. It is also shown that if the dimension and codimension of the subspace go to infinity, then the proportion of derangements goes to one. Similar results are proved for elements in finite classical groups in cosets of the simple group. The results in this paper have applications to probabilistic generation of finite simple groups and maps between varieties over finite fields.
The automorphism group of a self-dual [72,36,16] code does not contain S_3, A_4, or D_8

A computer calculation with Magma shows that there is no extremal self-dual binary code C of length 72, whose automorphism group contains the symmetric group of degree 3, the alternating group of degree 4 or the dihedral group of order 8. Combining this with the known results in the literature one obtains that Aut(C) has order at most 5 or isomorphic to the elementary abelian group of order 8.
The automorphism group of the doubly-even [72,36,16] code can only be of order 1, 3 or 5
We prove that a putative $[72,36,16]$ code is not the image of linear code over $\ZZ_4$, $\FF_2 + u \FF_2$ or $\FF_2+v\FF_2$, thus proving that the extremal doubly even $[72,36,16]$-binary code cannot have an automorphism group containing a fixed point-free involution. Combining this with the previously proved result by Bouyuklieva that such a code cannot have an automorphism group containing an involution with fixed points, we conclude that the automorphism group of the $[72,36,16]$-code cannot be of even order, leaving 3 and 5 as the only possibilities.
