We classify $\mathcal{R}$- and $\mathcal{L}$-cross-sections of partial wreath product of inverse semigroups. As a corollary, we get the description of $\mathcal{R}$- and $\mathcal{L}$-cross-sections of the semigroupof partial automorphisms of finite regular rooted tree and compute also the number of different $\mathcal{R}$- ($\mathcal{L}$-) cross-sections in this semigroup.

We study some combinatorial properties of partial wreath $k$-th power of the semigroup $\mathcal{IS}_d$. In particular, we calculate its order, the number of idempotents and the number of D-classes.
On algebraic and combinatorial properties of weighted simplicial complexes
Weighted simplicial complexes (WSCs) are powerful tools for describing weighted cloud data or networks with weighted nodes. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to study WSCs via the concept of polarization. Polarization of a WSC allows one to construct a new (unweighted) simplicial complex which coincides with an object called the mixed wreath product. This new construction preserves several properties and invariants of the underlying simplicial complex of a WSC. Our main focus is to analyze WSCs through their underlying simplicial complexes and mixed wreath products. Combinatorially, we investigate properties such as vertex-decomposability, shellability, constructibility; algebraically, we study Betti numbers, associated primes and primary decompositions of ideals associated to WSCs.

The multiplicity-free subgroups (strong Gelfand subgroups) of wreath products are investigated. Various useful reduction arguments are presented. In particular, we show that for every finite group $F$, the wreath product $F\wr S_λ$, where $S_λ$ is a Young subgroup, is multiplicity-free if and only if $λ$ is a partition with at most two parts, the second part being 0,1, or 2. Furthermore, we classify all multiplicity-free subgroups of hyperoctahedral groups. Along the way, we derive various decomposition formulas for the induced representations from some special subgroups of hyperoctahedral groups.

We say that a finite group G is "DRR-detecting" if, for every subset S of G, either the Cayley digraph Cay(G,S) is a digraphical regular representation (that is, its automorphism group acts regularly on its vertex set) or there is a nontrivial group automorphism phi of G such that phi(S) = S. We show that every nilpotent DRR-detecting group is a p-group, but that the wreath product of two cyclic groups of order p is not DRR-detecting, for every odd prime p. We also show that if G and H are nontrivial groups that admit a digraphical regular representation and either gcd(|G|,|H|) = 1, or H is not DRR-detecting, then the direct product G x H is not DRR-detecting. Some of these results also have analogues for graphical regular representations.

It is well known that the pair $(\mathcal{S}_n,\mathcal{S}_{n-1})$ is a Gelfand pair where $\mathcal{S}_n$ is the symmetric group on $n$ elements. In this paper, we prove that if $G$ is a finite group then $(G\wr \mathcal{S}_n, G\wr \mathcal{S}_{n-1}),$ where $G\wr \mathcal{S}_n$ is the wreath product of $G$ by $\mathcal{S}_n,$ is a Gelfand pair if and only if $G$ is abelian.

In this paper, we first study biplanes $\mathcal{D}$ with parameters $(v,k,2)$, where the block size $k\in\{13,16\}$. These are the smallest parameter values for which a classification is not available. We show that if $k=13$, then either $\mathcal{D}$ is the Aschbacher biplane or its dual, or $Aut(\mathcal{D})$ is a subgroup of the cyclic group of order $3$. In the case where $k=16$, we prove that $|Aut(\mathcal{D})|$ divides $2^{7}\cdot 3^{2}\cdot 5\cdot 7\cdot 11\cdot 13$. We also provide an example of a biplane with parameters $(16,6,2)$ with a flag-transitive and point-primitive subgroup of automorphisms preserving a homogeneous cartesian decomposition. This motivated us to study biplanes with point-primitive automorphism groups preserving a cartesian decomposition. We prove that such an automorphism group is either of affine type (as in the example), or twisted wreath type.

We construct Hopf algebras whose elements are representations of combinatorial automorphism groups, by generalising a theorem of Zelevinsky on Hopf algebras of representations of wreath products. As an application we attach symmetric functions to representations of graph automorphism groups, generalising and refining Stanley's chromatic symmetric function.
Wreath product in automorphism groups of graphs

The automorphism group of the composition of graphs $G \circ H$ contains the wreath product $Aut(H) \wr Aut(G)$ of the automorphism groups of the corresponding graphs. The classical problem considered by Sabidussi and Hemminger was under what conditions $G \circ H$ has no other automorphisms. In this paper we deal with the converse. If the automorphism group of a graph (or a colored graph or digraph) is the wreath product $A \wr B$ of permutation groups, then the graph must be the result of the corresponding construction. The question we consider is whether $A$ and $B$ must be the automorphism groups of graphs involved in the construction. We solve this problem, generally in positive, for the wreath product in its natural imprimitive action (which refers to the results by Sabidussi and Hemminger). Yet, we consider also the same problems for the wreath product in its product action, which turns out to be more complicated and leads to interesting open questions involving other combinatorial structures.
Stability of the Hecke algebra of wreath products
The Hecke algebras $\mathcal{H}_{n,k}$ of the group pairs $(S_{kn}, S_k\wr S_n)$ can be endowed with a filtration with respect to the orbit structures of the elements of $S_{kn}$ relative to the action of $S_{kn}$ on the set of $k$-partitions of $\{1,\dots,kn\}$. We prove that the structure constants of the associated filtered algebra $\mathcal{F}_{n,k} $ is independent of $n$. The stability property enables the construction of a universal algebra $\mathcal{F}$ to govern the algebras $\mathcal{F}_{n,k}$. We also prove that the structure constants of the algebras $\mathcal{H}_{n,k}$ are polynomials in $n$. For $k=2$, when the algebras $(\mathcal{F}_{n,2})_{n\in \mathbb{N}}$ are commutative, these results were obtained by Aker and Can, by Can and Ozden, and by Tout.

Two Schubert problems on possibly different Grassmannians may be composed to obtain a Schubert problem on a larger Grassmannian whose number of solutions is the product of the numbers of the original problems. This generalizes a construction discovered while classifying Schubert problems on the Grassmannian of 4-planes in C^9 with imprimitive Galois groups. We give an algebraic proof of the product formula. In a number of cases, we show that the Galois group of the composed Schubert problem is a subgroup of a wreath product of the Galois groups of the original problems, and is therefore imprimitive. We also present evidence for a conjecture that all composed Schubert problems have imprimitive Galois groups.
A Classification of Autoparatopisms of Latin Cubes
A paratopism is an action on a Latin hypercube of dimension d and order n which is an element of the wreath product $S_n \wr S_{d+1}$. A paratopism is said to be an autoparatopism if there is at least one Latin hypercube which is mapped to itself under the action of the paratopism. In this paper we classify autoparatopisms of Latin cubes given d = 3 and $n \in \mathbb{Z^+}$, upto the conjugacy in $S_n \wr S_4$. In order to achieve this objective, we prove that given an autoparatopism $σ \in S_n \wr S_{d+1}$, all the conjugates of $σ$ are autoparatpisms. Also, an important condition is presented, which states that the cycle structure of the $δ$ in the element $σ= (α_1,α_2,α_3,α_4;δ)$ of $S_n \wr S_4$ determines the conjugacy.

Given a chain of groups $G_0 \le G_1 \le G_2 ... $, we may form the corresponding chain of their representation rings, together with induction and restriction operators. We may let $\textrm{Res}^l$ denote the operator which restricts down $l$ steps, and similarly for $\textrm{Ind}^l$. Observe then that $\textrm{Ind}^l \textrm{Res}^l$ is an operator from any particular representation ring to itself. The central question that this paper addresses is: "What happens if the $\textrm{Ind}^l \textrm{Res}^l$ operator is a polynomial in the $\textrm{Ind} \textrm{Res}$ operator?". We show that chains of wreath products $\{H^n \rtimes S_n\}_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$ have this property, and in particular, the polynomials that appear in the case of symmetric groups are the falling factorial polynomials. An application of this fact gives a remarkable new way to compute characters of wreath products (in particular symmetric groups) using matrix multiplication. We then consider arbitrary chains of groups, and find very rigid constraints that such a chain must satisfy in order for $\textrm{Ind}^l \textrm{Res}^l$ to be a polynomial in $\textrm{Ind} \textrm{Res}$. Our rigid constraints justify the intuition that this property is indeed a very rare and special property.
Multi-Macdonald polynomials
We introduce Macdonald polynomials indexed by $n$-tuples of partitions and characterized by certain orthogonality and triangularity relations. We prove that they can be explicitly given as products of ordinary Macdonald polynomials depending on special alphabets. With this factorization in hand, we establish their most basic properties, such as explicit formulas for their norm-squared, evaluation and reproducing kernel. Moreover, we show that the $q,t$-Kostka coefficients associated to the multi-Macdonald polynomials are positive and correspond to $q,t$-analogs of the dimensions of the irreducible representations of $C_n \sim S_d$, the wreath product of the cyclic group $C_n$ with the symmetric group.

For every probability $p\in[0,1]$ we define a distance-based graph property, the $p$TS-distance-balancedness, that in the case $p=0$ coincides with the standard distance-balancedness, and in the case $p=1$ is related to the Hamiltonian-connectedness. In analogy with the classical case, where the distance-balancedness of a graph is equivalent to the property of being self-median, we characterize the class of $p$TS-distance-balanced graphs in terms of their equity with respect to certain probabilistic centrality measures, inspired by the Travelling Salesman Problem. We prove that it is possible to detect this property looking at the classical distance-balancedness (and therefore looking at the classical centrality problems) of a suitable graph composition, namely the wreath product of graphs. More precisely, we characterize the distance-balancedness of a wreath product of two graphs in terms of the $p$TS-distance-balancedness of the factors.

We show that the wreath Macdonald polynomials for $\mathbb{Z}/\ell\mathbb{Z}\wrΣ_n$, when naturally viewed as elements in the vertex representation of the quantum toroidal algebra $U_{\mathfrak{q},\mathfrak{d}}(\ddot{\mathfrak{sl}}_\ell)$, diagonalize its horizontal Heisenberg subalgebra. Our proof makes heavy use of shuffle algebra methods, and we also obtain a new proof of existence of wreath Macdonald polynomials.

We generalize the concept of partial permutations of Ivanov and Kerov and introduce $k$-partial permutations. This allows us to show that the structure coefficients of the center of the wreath product $\mathcal{S}_k\wr \mathcal{S}_n$ algebra are polynomials in $n$ with non-negative integer coefficients. We use a universal algebra $\mathcal{I}_\infty^k$ which projects on the center $Z(\mathbb{C}[\mathcal{S}_k\wr \mathcal{S}_n])$ for each $n.$ We show that $\mathcal{I}_\infty^k$ is isomorphic to the algebra of shifted symmetric functions on many alphabets.

We consider the wreath product of two symmetric groups as a group of blocks permutations and we study its conjugacy classes. We give a polynomiality property for the structure coefficients of the center of the wreath product of symmetric groups algebra. This allows us to recover an old result of Farahat and Higman about the polynomiality of the structure coefficients of the center of the symmetric group algebra and to generalize our recent result about the polynomiality property of the structure coefficients of the center of the hyperoctahedral group algebra. A particular attention is paid to the cases when the blocks contain two or three elements.

Let $M$ be a connected orientable compact surface, $f:M\to\mathbb{R}$ be a Morse function, and $\mathcal{D}_{\mathrm{id}}(M)$ be the group of difeomorphisms of $M$ isotopic to the identity. Denote by $\mathcal{S}'(f)=\{f\circ h = f\mid h\in\mathcal{D}_{\mathrm{id}}(M)\}$ the subgroup of $\mathcal{D}_{\mathrm{id}}(M)$ consisting of difeomorphisms "preserving" $f$, i.e. the stabilizer of $f$ with respect to the right action of $\mathcal{D}_{\mathrm{id}}(M)$ on the space $\mathcal{C}^{\infty}(M,\mathbb{R})$ of smooth functions on $M$. Let also $\mathbf{G}(f)$ be the group of automorphisms of the Kronrod-Reeb graph of $f$ induced by diffeomorphisms belonging to $\mathcal{S}'(f)$. This group is an important ingredient in determining the homotopy type of the orbit of $f$ with respect to the above action of $\mathcal{D}_{\mathrm{id}}(M)$ and it is trivial if $f$ is "generic", i.e. has at most one critical point at each level set $f^{-1}(c)$, $c\in\mathbb{R}$.
For the case when $M$ is distinct from $2$-sphere and $2$-torus we present a precise description of the family $\mathbf{G}(M,\mathbb{R})$ of isomorphism classes of groups $\mathbf{G}(f)$, where $f$ runs over all Morse functions on $M$, and of its subfamily $\mathbf{G}^{smp}(M,\mathbb{R}) \subset \mathbf{G}(M,\mathbb{R})$ consisting of groups corresponding to simple Morse functions, i.e. functions having at most one critical point at each connected component of each level set.
In fact, $\mathbf{G}(M,\mathbb{R})$, (resp. $\mathbf{G}^{smp}(M,\mathbb{R})$), coincides with the minimal family of isomorphism classes of groups containing the trivial group and closed with respect to direct products and also with respect to wreath products "from the top" with arbitrary finite cyclic groups, (resp. with group $\mathbb{Z}_2$ only).

The wreath product of graphs is a graph composition inspired by the notion of wreath product of groups, with interesting connections with Geometric Group Theory and Probability. This paper is devoted to the description of some degree and distance-based invariants, of large interest in Chemical Graph Theory, for a wreath product of graphs. An explicit formula is obtained for the Zagreb indices, in terms of the Zagreb indices of the factor graphs. A detailed analysis of distances in a wreath product is performed, allowing to describe the antipodal graph and to provide a formula for the Wiener index. Finally, a formula for the Szeged index is obtained. Several explicit examples are given.
