In this paper we give Pieri rules for skew dual immaculate functions and their recently discovered row-strict counterparts. We establish our rules using a right-action analogue of the skew Littlewood-Richardson rule for Hopf algebras of Lam-Lauve-Sottile. We also obtain Pieri rules for row-strict (dual) immaculate functions.

The family of bent functions is a known class of Boolean functions, which have a great importance in cryptography. The Cayley graph defined on $\mathbb{Z}_{2}^{n}$ by the support of a bent function is a strongly regular graph $srg(v,kλ,μ)$, with $λ=μ$. In this note we list the parameters of such Cayley graphs. Moreover, it is given a condition on $(n,m)$-bent functions $F=(f_1,\ldots,f_m)$, involving the support of their components $f_i$, and their $n$-ary symmetric differences.

We give a natural definition of rowmotion for $321$-avoiding permutations, by translating, through bijections involving Dyck paths and the Lalanne--Kreweras involution, the analogous notion for antichains of the positive root poset of type $A$. We prove that some permutation statistics, such as the number of fixed points, are homomesic under rowmotion, meaning that they have a constant average over its orbits.
Our setting also provides a more natural description of the celebrated Armstrong--Stump--Thomas equivariant bijection between antichains and non-crossing matchings in types $A$ and $B$, by showing that it is equivalent to the Robinson--Schensted--Knuth correspondence on $321$-avoiding permutations permutations.

We study flips in hypertriangulations of planar points sets. Here a level-$k$ hypertriangulation of $n$ points in the planes is a subdivision induced by the projection of a $k$-hypersimplex, which is the convex hull of the barycenters of the $(k-1)$-dimensional faces of the standard $(n-1)$-simplex. In particular, we introduce four types of flips and prove that the level-2 hypertriangulations are connected by these flips.

The scramble number of a graph provides a lower bound for gonality and an upper bound for treewidth, making it a graph invariant of interest. In this paper we study graphs of scramble number at most two, and give a classification of all such graphs with a finite list of forbidden topological minors. We then prove that there exists no finite list of forbidden topological minors to characterize graphs of any fixed scramble number greater than two.

In 2010, Kh. Hessami Pilehrood and T. Hessami Pilehrood introduced generating function identities used to obtain series accelerations for values of Dirichlet's $β$ function, via the Markov--Wilf--Zeilberger method. Inspired by these past results, together with related results introduced by Chu et al., we introduce a variety of hypergeometric recurrences. We prove these recurrences using the WZ method, and we apply these recurrences to obtain series acceleration identities. We introduce a family of summations generalizing a Ramanujan-type series for $\frac{1}{π^2}$ due to Guillera, and a family of summations generalizing an accelerated series for Catalan's constant due to Lupaş, and many related results.
Genus Polynomials of Cubic Graphs with Non-Real Roots

Given a graph $G$, its genus polynomial is $Γ_G(x) = \sum_{k\geq 0} g_k(G)x^k$, where $g_k(G)$ is the number of 2-cell embeddings of $G$ in an orientable surface of genus $k$. The Log-Concavity Genus Distribution (LCGD) Conjecture states that the genus polynomial of every graph is log-concave. It was further conjectured by Stahl that the genus polynomial of every graph has only real roots, however this was later disproved. We identify several examples of cubic graphs whose genus polynomials, in addition to having at least one non-real root, have a quadratic factor that is non-log-concave when factored over the real numbers.
Coalition of cubic graphs of order at most $10$
The coalition in a graph $G$ consists of two disjoint sets of vertices $V_{1}$ and $V_{2}$, neither of which is a dominating set but whose union $V_{1}\cup V_{2}$, is a dominating set. A coalition partition in a graph $G$ is a vertex partition $π$ = $\{V_1, V_2,..., V_k \}$ such that every set $V_i \in π$ is not a dominating set but forms a coalition with another set $V_j\in π$ which is not a dominating set. The coalition number $C(G)$ equals the maximum $k$ of a coalition partition of $G$. In this paper, we compute the coalition number of all cubic graphs of order at most $10$.

The Sombor index is a topological index in graph theory defined by Gutman in 2021. In this article, we find the maximum Sombor index of trees of order $\mathbf{n}$ with a given dissociation number $\varphi$, where $\ceil*{\frac{2\mathbf{n}}{3}} \leq \varphi(G) \leq \mathbf{n}-1$. We also provide the unique graph among the chosen class where the maximum Sombor index is attained.
$N$-factor complexity of the infinite Fibonacci sequence and digital sequences
In this paper, we introduce a variation of the factor complexity, called the $N$-factor complexity, which allows us to characterize the complexity of sequences on an infinite alphabet. We evaluate precisely the $N$-factor complexity for the infinite Fibonacci sequence $\mathbf{f}$ given by Zhang, Wen and Wu [Electron. J. Comb., 24 (2017)]. The $N$-factor complexity of a class of digit sequences, whose $n$th term is defined to be the number of occurrences of a given block in the base-$k$ representation of $n$, is also discussed.
On oriented cycles in randomly perturbed digraphs

In 2003, Bohman, Frieze, and Martin initiated the study of randomly perturbed graphs and digraphs. For digraphs, they showed that for every $α>0$, there exists a constant $C$ such that for every $n$-vertex digraph of minimum semi-degree at least $αn$, if one adds $Cn$ random edges then asymptotically almost surely the resulting digraph contains a consistently oriented Hamilton cycle. We generalize their result, showing that the hypothesis of this theorem actually asymptotically almost surely ensures the existence of every orientation of a cycle of every possible length, simultaneously. Moreover, we prove that we can relax the minimum semi-degree condition to a minimum total degree condition when considering orientations of a cycle that do not contain a large number of vertices of indegree $1$. Our proofs make use of a variant of an absorbing method of Montgomery.

We show that there is an absolute constant $c>0$ such that $|A+λ\cdot A|\geq e^{c\sqrt{\log |A|}}|A|$ for any finite subset $A$ of $\mathbb{R}$ and any transcendental number $λ\in\mathbb{R}$. By a construction of Konyagin and Laba, this is best possible up to the constant $c$.
Minimizing interference-to-signal ratios in multi-cell networks

In contemporary wireless communication networks, base-stations are organized into coordinated clusters (called cells) to jointly serve the users. However, such fixed systems are plagued by the so-called cell-edge problem: near the boundaries, the interference between neighboring clusters can result in very poor interference-to-signal-power ratios. To achieve a high quality service, it is an important objective to minimize the sum of these ratios over the cells.
The most common approach to solve this minimization problem is arguably the spectral clustering method. In this paper, we propose a new clustering approach, which is deterministic and computationally much less demanding than current methods. Simulating on synthetic instances indicates that our methods typically provide higher quality solutions than earlier methods.
An earlier version of this algorithm was reported in arXiv:2111.00885.
A characterization of graphs with small palette index

Given an edge-coloring of a graph $G$, we associate to every vertex $v$ of $G$ the set of colors appearing on the edges incident with $v$. The palette index of $G$ is defined as the minimum number of such distinct sets, taken over all possible edge-colorings of $G$. A graph with a small palette index admits an edge-coloring which can be locally considered to be almost symmetric, since few different sets of colors appear around its vertices. Graphs with palette index $1$ are $r$-regular graphs admitting an $r$-edge-coloring, while regular graphs with palette index $2$ do not exist. Here, we characterize all graphs with palette index either $2$ or $3$ in terms of the existence of suitable decompositions in regular subgraphs. As a corollary, we obtain a complete characterization of regular graphs with palette index $3$.

We consider a scalar-valued implicit function of many variables, and provide two closed formulae for all of its partial derivatives. One formula is based on products of partial derivatives of the defining function, the other one involves less products of building blocks of multinomial type, and we study the combinatorics of the coefficients showing up in both formulae.

We show that a finite zero-sum-free sequence $α$ over an abelian group has at least $c|α|^{4/3}$ distinct subsequence sums, unless $α$ is "controlled" by a small number of its terms; here $|α|$ denotes the number of terms of $α$, and $c>0$ is an absolute constant.
Distant 2-Colored Components on Embeddings Part II: The Short-Inseparable Case
This is the second in a sequence of three papers in which we prove the following generalization of Thomassen's 5-choosability theorem: Let $G$ be a graph embedded on a surface of genus $g$. Then $G$ can be $L$-colored, where $L$ is a list-assignment for $G$ in which every vertex has a 5-list except for a collection of pairwise far-apart components, each precolored with an ordinary 2-coloring, as long as the face-width of $G$ is at least $2^{Ω(g)}$ and the precolored components are of distance at least $2^{Ω(g)}$ apart. This provides an affirmative answer to a generalized version of a conjecture of Thomassen and also generalizes a result from 2017 of Dvořák, Lidický, Mohar, and Postle about distant precolored vertices. In this paper we prove that the above result holds for a restricted class of embeddings, i.e. those embeddings which satisfy certain triangulation conditions and do not have separating cycles of length at most four.
On generalized Ramsey numbers in the non-integral regime
A $(p,q)$-coloring of a graph $G$ is an edge-coloring of $G$ such that every $p$-clique receives at least $q$ colors. In 1975, Erdős and Shelah introduced the generalized Ramsey number $f(n,p,q)$ which is the minimum number of colors needed in a $(p,q)$-coloring of $K_n$. In 1997, Erdős and Gyárfás showed that $f(n,p,q)$ is at most a constant times $n^{\frac{p-2}{\binom{p}{2} - q + 1}}$. Very recently the first author, Dudek, and English improved this bound by a factor of $\log n^{\frac{-1}{\binom{p}{2} - q + 1}} $ for all $q \le \frac{p^2 - 26p + 55}{4}$, and they ask if this improvement could hold for a wider range of $q$.
We answer this in the affirmative for the entire non-integral regime, that is, for all integers $p, q$ with $p-2$ not divisible by $\binom{p}{2} - q + 1$. Furthermore, we provide a simultaneous three-way generalization as follows: where $p$-clique is replaced by any fixed graph $F$ (with $|V(F)|-2$ not divisible by $|E(F)| - q + 1$); to list coloring; and to $k$-uniform hypergraphs. Our results are a new application of the Forbidden Submatching Method of the second and fourth authors.
A combinatorial proof of a symmetry for a refinement of the Narayana numbers
We establish a tantalizing symmetry of certain numbers refining the Narayana numbers. In terms of Dyck paths, this symmetry is interpreted in the following way: if $w_{n,k,m}$ is the number of Dyck paths of semilength $n$ with $k$ occurrences of $UD$ and $m$ occurrences of $UUD$, then $w_{2k+1,k,m}=w_{2k+1,k,k+1-m}$. We give a combinatorial proof of this fact, relying on the cycle lemma, and showing that the numbers $w_{2k+1,k,m}$ are multiples of the Narayana numbers. We prove a more general fact establishing a relationship between the numbers $w_{n,k,m}$ and a family of generalized Narayana numbers due to Callan. A closed-form expression for the even more general numbers $w_{n,k_{1},k_{2},\ldots , k_{r}}$ counting the semilength-$n$ Dyck paths with $k_{1}$ $UD$-factors, $k_{2}$ $UUD$-factors, $\ldots$ , and $k_{r}$ $U^{r}D$-factors is also obtained, as well as a more general form of the discussed symmetry for these numbers in the case when all rise runs are of certain minimal length. Finally, we investigate properties of the polynomials $W_{n,k}(t)= \sum_{m=0}^k w_{n,k,m} t^m$, including real-rootedness, $γ$-positivity, and a symmetric decomposition.
