We completely describe by inequalities the set of boundary correlation matrices of planar Ising networks embedded in a disk. Specifically, we build on a recent result of M.~Lis to give a simple bijection between such correlation matrices and points in the totally nonnegative part of the orthogonal Grassmannian, which has been introduced in 2013 in the study of the scattering amplitudes of ABJM theory. We also show that the edge parameters of the Ising model for reduced networks can be uniquely recovered from boundary correlations, solving the inverse problem. Under our correspondence, the Kramers--Wannier high/low temperature duality transforms into the cyclic symmetry of the Grassmannian, and using this cyclic symmetry, we prove that the spaces under consideration are homeomorphic to closed balls.

Knutson, Tao, and Woodward formulated a Littlewood-Richardson rule for the cohomology ring of Grassmannians in terms of puzzles. Vakil and Wheeler-Zinn-Justin have found additional triangular puzzle pieces that allow one to express structure constants for $K$-theory of Grassmannians. Here we introduce two other puzzle pieces of hexagonal shape, each of which gives a Littlewood-Richardson rule for $K$-homology of Grassmannians. We also explore the corresponding eight versions of $K$-theoretic Littlewood-Richardson tableaux.
Soliton cellular automata associated with infinite reduced words
We consider a family of cellular automata $Φ(n,k)$ associated with infinite reduced elements on the affine symmetric group $\hat S_n$, which is a tropicalization of the rational maps introduced by two of the authors. We study the soliton solutions for $Φ(n,k)$ and explore a `duality' with the $\mathfrak{sl}_n$-box-ball system.

We describe and investigate a connection between the topology of isolated singularities of plane curves and the mutation equivalence, in the sense of cluster algebra theory, of the quivers associated with their morsifications.

Birational toggling on Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns appeared first in the study of geometric crystals and geometric Robinson-Schensted-Knuth correspondence. Based on these birational toggle relations, Einstein and Propp introduced a discrete dynamical system called birational rowmotion associated with a partially ordered set. We generalize birational rowmotion to the class of arbitrary strongly connected directed graphs, calling the resulting discrete dynamical system the $R$-system. We study its integrability from the points of view of singularity confinement and algebraic entropy. We show that in many cases, singularity confinement in an $R$-system reduces to the Laurent phenomenon either in a cluster algebra, or in a Laurent phenomenon algebra, or beyond both of those generalities, giving rise to many new sequences with the Laurent property possessing rich groups of symmetries. Some special cases of $R$-systems reduce to Somos and Gale-Robinson sequences.

We use the affine Robinson-Schensted correspondence to describe the structure of bidirected edges in the Kazhdan-Lusztig cells in affine type A. Equivalently, we give a comprehensive description of the Knuth equivalence classes of affine permutations.

We prove a general theorem that gives a linear recurrence for tuples of paths in every cylindrical network. This can be seen as a cylindrical analog of the Lindström-Gessel-Viennot theorem. We illustrate the result by applying it to Schur functions, plane partitions, and domino tilings.

We show that Zamolodchikov dynamics of a recurrent quiver has zero algebraic entropy only if the quiver has a weakly subadditive labeling, and conjecture the converse. By assigning a pair of generalized Cartan matrices of affine type to each quiver with an additive labeling, we completely classify such quivers, obtaining $40$ infinite families and $13$ exceptional quivers. This completes the program of classifying Zamolodchikov periodic and integrable quivers.
The Berenstein-Kirillov group and cactus groups

Berenstein and Kirillov have studied the action of Bender-Knuth moves on semistandard tableaux. Losev has studied a cactus group action in Kazhdan-Lusztig theory; in type $A$ this action can also be identified in the work of Henriques and Kamnitzer. We establish the relationship between the two actions. We show that the Berenstein-Kirillov group is a quotient of the cactus group. We use this to derive previously unknown relations in the Berenstein-Kirillov group. We also determine precise implications between subsets of relations in the two groups, which yields a presentation for cactus groups in terms of Bender-Knuth generators.

We define cluster $R$-matrices as sequences of mutations in triangular grid quivers on a cylinder, and show that the affine geometric $R$-matrix of symmetric power representations for the quantum affine algebra $U_q^\prime(\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}_n)$ can be obtained from our cluster $R$-matrix. A quantization of the affine geometric $R$-matrix is defined, compatible with the cluster structure. We construct invariants of the quantum affine geometric $R$-matrix as quantum loop symmetric functions.
Quivers with subadditive labelings: classification and integrability

Strictly subadditive, subadditive and weakly subadditive labelings of quivers were introduced by the second author, generalizing Vinberg's definition for undirected graphs. In our previous work we have shown that quivers with strictly subadditive labelings are exactly the quivers exhibiting Zamolodchikov periodicity. In this paper, we classify all quivers with subadditive labelings. We conjecture them to exhibit a certain form of integrability, namely, as the $T$-system dynamics proceeds, the values at each vertex satisfy a linear recurrence. Conversely, we show that every quiver integrable in this sense is necessarily one of the $19$ items in our classification. For the quivers of type $\hat A \otimes A$ we express the coefficients of the recurrences in terms of the partition functions for domino tilings of a cylinder, called \emph{Goncharov-Kenyon Hamiltonians}. We also consider tropical $T$-systems of type $\hat A \otimes A$ and explain how affine slices exhibit solitonic behavior, i.e. soliton resolution and speed conservation. Throughout, we conjecture how the results in the paper are expected to generalize from $\hat A \otimes A$ to all other quivers in our classification.

We consider a discrete dynamical system where the roles of the states and the carrier are played by translations in an affine Weyl group of type $A$. The Coxeter generators are enriched by parameters, and the interactions with the carrier are realized using Lusztig's braid move $(a,b,c) \mapsto (bc/(a+c), a+c, ab/(a+c))$. We use wiring diagrams on a cylinder to interpret chamber variables as $τ$-functions. This allows us to realize our systems as reductions of the Hirota bilinear difference equation and thus obtain $N$-soliton solutions.

Zamolodchikov periodicity is a property of certain discrete dynamical systems associated with quivers. It has been shown by Keller to hold for quivers obtained as products of two Dynkin diagrams. We prove that the quivers exhibiting Zamolodchikov periodicity are in bijection with pairs of commuting Cartan matrices of finite type. Such pairs were classified by Stembridge in his study of $W$-graphs. The classification includes products of Dynkin diagrams along with four other infinite families, and eight exceptional cases. We provide a proof of Zamolodchikov periodicity for all four remaining infinite families, and verify the exceptional cases using a computer program.

In his study of Kazhdan-Lusztig cells in affine type $A$, Shi has introduced an affine analog of Robinson-Schensted correspondence. We generalize the Matrix-Ball Construction of Viennot and Fulton to give a more combinatorial realization of Shi's algorithm. As a biproduct, we also give a way to realize the affine correspondence via the usual Robinson-Schensted bumping algorithm. Next, inspired by Lusztig and Xi, we extend the algorithm to a bijection between extended affine symmetric group and triples $(P, Q, ρ)$ where $P$ and $Q$ are tabloids and $ρ$ is a dominant weight. The weights $ρ$ get a natural interpretation in terms of the Affine Matrix-Ball Construction. Finally, we prove that fibers of the inverse map possess a Weyl group symmetry, explaining the dominance condition on weights.

Zamolodchikov periodicity is periodicity of certein recursions associated with box products $X \square Y$ of two finite type Dynkin diagrams. We suggest an affine analog of Zamolodchikov periodicity, which we call Zamolodchikov integrability. We conjecture that it holds for products $X \square Y$, where $X$ is a finite type Dynkin diagram and $Y$ is an extended Dynkin diagram. We prove this conjecture for the case of $A_m \square A_{2n-1}^{(1)}$. The proof employs cluster structures in certain classical rings of invariants, previously studied by S. Fomin and the author.

We use the combinatorics of toric networks and the double affine geometric $R$-matrix to define a three-parameter family of generalizations of the discrete Toda lattice. We construct the integrals of motion and a spectral map for this system. The family of commuting time evolutions arising from the action of the $R$-matrix is explicitly linearized on the Jacobian of the spectral curve. The solution to the initial value problem is constructed using Riemann theta functions.

We introduce a rich family of generalizations of the pentagram map sharing the property that each generates an infinite configuration of points and lines with four points on each line. These systems all have a description as $Y$-mutations in a cluster algebra and hence establish new connections between cluster theory and projective geometry. Our framework incorporates many preexisting generalized pentagram maps due to M. Gekhtman, M. Shapiro, S. Tabachnikov, and A. Vainshtein and also B. Khesin and F. Soloviev. In several of these cases a reduction to cluster dynamics was not previously known.
Dual Filtered Graphs

We define a K-theoretic analogue of Fomin's dual graded graphs, which we call dual filtered graphs. The key formula in the definition is DU-UD= D + I. Our major examples are K-theoretic analogues of Young's lattice, of shifted Young's lattice, and of the Young-Fibonacci lattice. We suggest notions of tableaux, insertion algorithms, and growth rules whenever such objects are not already present in the literature. We also provide a large number of other examples. Most of our examples arise via two constructions, which we call the Pieri construction and the Mobius construction. The Pieri construction is closely related to the construction of dual graded graphs from a graded Hopf algebra, as described by Bergeron-Lam-Li, Nzeutchap, and Lam-Shimizono. The Mobius construction is more mysterious but also potentially more important, as it corresponds to natural insertion algorithms.

Rigged configurations are known to provide action-angle variables for remarkable discrete dynamical systems known as box-ball systems. We conjecture an explicit piecewise-linear formula to obtain the shapes of a rigged configuration from a tensor product of one-row crystals. We introduce cylindric loop Schur functions and show that they are invariants of the geometric R-matrix. Our piecewise-linear formula is obtained as the tropicalization of ratios of cylindric loop Schur functions. We prove our conjecture for the first shape of a rigged configuration, thus giving a piecewise-linear formula for the lengths of the solitons of a box-ball system.
K-theoretic Poirier-Reutenauer bialgebra
We use the K-Knuth equivalence of Buch and Samuel to define a K-theoretic analogue of the Poirier-Reutenauer Hopf algebra. As an application, we rederive the K-theoretic Littlewood-Richardson rules of Thomas and Yong and of Buch and Samuel.
