We prove that any convex body in the plane can be partitioned into $m$ convex parts of equal areas and perimeters for any integer $m\ge 2$; this result was previously known for prime powers $m=p^k$. We also discuss possible higher-dimensional generalizations and difficulties of extending our technique to equalizing more than one non-additive function.

We generalize the Tamari lattice by extending the notions of $231$-avoiding permutations, noncrossing set partitions, and nonnesting set partitions to parabolic quotients of the symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_{n}$. We show bijectively that these three objects are equinumerous. We show how to extend these constructions to parabolic quotients of any finite Coxeter group. The main ingredient is a certain aligned condition of inversion sets; a concept which can in fact be generalized to any reduced expression of any element in any (not necessarily finite) Coxeter group.

We introduce lecture hall tableaux, which are fillings of a skew Young diagram satisfying certain conditions. Lecture hall tableaux generalize both lecture hall partitions and anti-lecture hall compositions, and also contain reverse semistandard Young tableaux as a limit case. We show that the coefficients in the Schur expansion of multivariate little $q$-Jacobi polynomials are generating functions for lecture hall tableaux. Using a Selberg-type integral we show that moments of multivariate little $q$-Jacobi polynomials, which are equal to generating functions for lecture hall tableaux of a Young diagram, have a product formula. We also explore various combinatorial properties of lecture hall tableaux.

Motivated by Alladi's recent multi-dimensional generalization of Sylvester's classical identity, we provide a simple combinatorial proof of an overpartition analogue, which contains extra parameters tracking the numbers of overlined parts of different colors. This new identity encompasses a handful of classical results as special cases, such as Cauchy's identity, and the product expressions of three classical theta functions studied by Gauss, Jacobi and Ramanujan.

We show that the Chow covectors of a linkage matching field define a bijection between certain degree vectors and lattice points, and we demonstrate how one can recover the linkage matching field from this bijection. This resolves two open questions from Sturmfels and Zelevinsky (1993) on linkage matching fields. For this, we give an explicit construction that associates a bipartite incidence graph of an ordered partition of a common set to each lattice point in a dilated simplex. Given a triangulation of a product of two simplices encoded by a set of spanning trees on a bipartite node set, we similarly prove that the bijection from left to right degree vectors of the trees is enough to recover the triangulation. As additional results, we show a cryptomorphic description of linkage matching fields and characterise the flip graph of a linkage matching field in terms of its prodsimplicial flag complex. Finally, we relate our findings to transversal matroids through the tropical Stiefel map.
Stable set polytopes and their 1-skeleta
We characterize the edges of two classes of $0/1$-polytopes. The first class corresponds to the stable set polytope of a graph $G$ and includes chain polytopes of posets, some instances of matroid independence polytopes, as well as newly-defined polytopes whose vertices correspond to noncrossing set partitions. In analogy with matroid basis polytopes, the second class is obtained by considering the stable sets of maximal cardinality. We investigate how the class of $0/1$-polytopes whose edges satisfy our characterization is situated within the hierarchy of $0/1$-polytopes. This includes the class of matroid polytopes. We also study the diameter of these classes of polytopes and improve slightly on the Hirsch bound.

Fulton and Kraskiewicz gave a presentation of Specht modules as a quotient of the space of column tabloids by dual Garnir relations. We simplify this presentation by showing that it can be generated by a single relation for each pair of columns of a tableau with ordered columns, thereby significantly reducing the number of generators given in the original construction. Our presentation applies to all Specht modules, and is of a similar nature to a recent result by Friedmann-Hanlon-Stanley-Wachs that applies to staircase partitions. We show that our presentation implies the Friedmann-Hanlon-Stanley-Wachs presentation.

Let $k$ be a positive integer and $m$ be an integer. Garvan's $k$-rank $N_k(m,n)$ is the number of partitions of $n$ into at least $(k-1)$ successive Durfee squares with $k$-rank equal to $m$. In this paper give some asymptotics for $N_k(m,n)$ with $|m|\ge \sqrt{n}$ as $n\rightarrow \infty$. As a corollary, we give a more complete answer for the Dyson's crank distribution conjecture. We also establish some asymptotic formulas for finite differences of $N_k(m,n)$ with respect to $m$ with $m\gg \sqrt{n}\log n$.
A bijection for Euler's partition theorem in the spirit of Bressoud
For each positive integer $n$, we construct a bijection between the odd partitions and the distinct partitions of $n$ which extends Bressoud's bijection between the odd-and-distinct partitions of $n$ and the splitting partitions of $n$.
We compare our bijection with the classical bijections of Glaisher and Sylvester, and also with a recent bijection due to Chen, Gao, Ji and Li.
Number of 1-factorizations of regular high-degree graphs
A $1$-factor in an $n$-vertex graph $G$ is a collection of $\frac{n}{2}$ vertex-disjoint edges and a $1$-factorization of $G$ is a partition of its edges into edge-disjoint $1$-factors. Clearly, a $1$-factorization of $G$ cannot exist unless $n$ is even and $G$ is regular (that is, all vertices are of the same degree). The problem of finding $1$-factorizations in graphs goes back to a paper of Kirkman in 1847 and has been extensively studied since then. Deciding whether a graph has a $1$-factorization is usually a very difficult question. For example, it took more than 60 years and an impressive tour de force of Csaba, Kühn, Lo, Osthus and Treglown to prove an old conjecture of Dirac from the 1950s, which says that every $d$-regular graph on $n$ vertices contains a $1$-factorization, provided that $n$ is even and $d\geq 2\lceil \frac{n}{4}\rceil-1$. In this paper we address the natural question of estimating $F(n,d)$, the number of $1$-factorizations in $d$-regular graphs on an even number of vertices, provided that $d\geq \frac{n}{2}+\varepsilon n$. Improving upon a recent result of Ferber and Jain, which itself improved upon a result of Cameron from the 1970s, we show that $F(n,d)\geq \left((1+o(1))\frac{d}{e^2}\right)^{nd/2}$, which is asymptotically best possible.

A vector space partition $\mathcal{P}$ in $\mathbb{F}_q^v$ is a set of subspaces such that every $1$-dimensional subspace of $\mathbb{F}_q^v$ is contained in exactly one element of $\mathcal{P}$. Replacing "every point" by "every $t$-dimensional subspace", we generalize this notion to vector space $t$-partitions and study their properties. There is a close connection to subspace codes and some problems are even interesting and unsolved for the set case $q=1$.

In 1996 Goulden and Jackson introduced a family of coefficients $( c_{π, σ}^λ ) $ indexed by triples of partitions which arise in the power sum expansion of some Cauchy sum for Jack symmetric functions $( J^{(α)}_π)$. The coefficients $ c_{π, σ}^λ $ can be viewed as an interpolation between the structure constants of the class algebra and the double coset algebra. Goulden and Jackson suggested that the coefficients $ c_{π, σ}^λ $ are polynomials in the variable $β:= α-1$ with non-negative integer coefficients and that there is a combinatorics of matching hidden behind them. This \emph{Matchings-Jack Conjecture} remains open. Doł\oldk{e}ga and Féray showed the polynomiality of connection coefficients $c^λ_{π,σ}$ and gave the upper bound on the degrees. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the polynomial $ c_{π, σ}^λ$ to achieve this bound. We show that the leading coefficient of $ c_{π, σ}^λ$ is a positive integer and we present it in the context of Matchings-Jack Conjecture of Goulden and Jackson.
Hypergraph cuts above the average

An r-cut of a k-uniform hypergraph H is a partition of the vertex set of H into r parts and the size of the cut is the number of edges which have a vertex in each part. A classical result of Edwards says that every m-edge graph has a 2-cut of size $m/2 + Ω(\sqrt{m})$, and this is best possible. That is, there exist cuts which exceed the expected size of a random cut by some multiple of the standard deviation. We study analogues of this and related results in hypergraphs. First, we observe that similarly to graphs, every m-edge k-uniform hypergraph has an r-cut whose size is $Ω(\sqrt m)$ larger than the expected size of a random r-cut. Moreover, in the case where k=3 and r=2 this bound is best possible and is attained by Steiner triple systems. Surprisingly, for all other cases (that is, if $k \geq 4$ or $r \geq 3$), we show that every m-edge k-uniform hypergraph has an r-cut whose size is $Ω(m^{5/9})$ larger than the expected size of a random r-cut. This is a significant difference in behaviour, since the amount by which the size of the largest cut exceeds the expected size of a random cut is now considerably larger than the standard deviation.
A George Szekeres Formula for Restricted Partitions
We derive an asymptotic formula for $A(n,j,r)$ the number of integer partitions of $n$ into at most $j$ parts each part $\le r$. We assume $j$ and $r$ are near their mean values. We also investigate the second largest part, the number of parts $\ge 2$, etc. We show that the fraction of the partitions of an even integer $n$ that are graphical, ie. whose parts form the degree sequence of a simple graph, is $O(\ln^{-1/2} n)$. Probabilistic results are used in our discussion of graphical partitions. The George Szekeres circle method is essential for our asymptotic results on partitions. We determine the distributions defined by the successive ranks of partitions, generalizing the result of Erdos and Richmond for the rank of a partition.

Building on a bijection of Vandervelde, we enumerate certain unimodal sequences whose alternating sum equals zero. This enables us to refine the enumeration of strict partitions with respect to the number of parts and the BG-rank.
Partition number identities which are true for all set of parts
Let $B$ be an infinite subset of $\mathbf{N}$. When we consider partitions of natural numbers into elements of $B$, a partition number without a restriction of the number of equal parts can be expressed by partition numbers with a restriction $α$ of the number of equal parts. Although there are many way of the expression, we prove that there exists a expression form such that this expression form is true for all possible set $B$. This identities comes from the partition numbers of natural numbers into $\{1,α,α^2,α^3,\cdots\}$. Furthermore, we prove that there exist inverse forms of the expression forms. And we prove other similar identities. The proofs in this paper are constructive.
The tree of numerical semigroups with low multiplicity
We show that the number of numerical semigroups with multiplicity three, four or five and fixed genus is increasing as a function in the genus. To this end we use the Kunz polytope for these multiplicities. Counting numerical semigroups with fixed multiplicity and genus is then an integer partition problem with some extra conditions (those of membership to the Kunz polytope). For the particular case of multiplicity four, we are able to prove that the number of numerical semigroups with multiplicity four and genus $g$ is the number of partitions $x+y+z=g+6$ with $0<x\le y\le z$, $x\neq 1$, $y\neq 2$ and $z\neq 3$.

We introduce a decorated configuration space $\mathscr{C}\!{\rm onf}_n^\times(a)$ with a potential function $\mathcal{W}$. We prove the cluster duality conjecture of Fock-Goncharov for Grassmannians, that is, the tropicalization of $\big(\mathscr{C}\!{\rm onf}_n^\times(a), \mathcal{W}\big)$ canonically parametrizes a linear basis of the homogeneous coordinate ring of the Grassmannian $\operatorname{Gr}_a(n)$ with respect to the Plücker embedding. We prove that $\big(\mathscr{C}\!{\rm onf}_n^\times(a), \mathcal{W}\big)$ is equivalent to the mirror Landau-Ginzburg model of the Grassmannian considered by Eguchi-Hori-Xiong, Marsh-Rietsch and Rietsch-Williams. As an application, we show a cyclic sieving phenomenon involving plane partitions under a sequence of piecewise-linear toggles.
On-line Chain Partitioning Approach to Scheduling
An on-line chain partitioning algorithm receives the points of the poset from some externally determined list. Being presented with a new point the algorithm learns the comparability status of this new point to all previously presented ones. As each point is received, the algorithm assigns this new point to a chain in an irrevocable manner and this assignment is made without knowledge of future points. Kierstead presented an algorithm using $(5^w-1)/4$ chains to cover each poset of width $w$. Felsner proved that width $2$ posets can be partitioned on-line into $5$ chains. We present an algorithm using $16$ chains on posets of width $3$. This result significantly narrows down the previous bound of $31$. Moreover, we address the on-line chain partitioning problem for interval orders. Kierstead and Trotter presented an algorithm using $3w-2$ chains. We deal with an up-growing version of an on-line chain partition of interval orders, i.e. we restrict possible inputs by the rule that each new point is maximal at the moment of its arrival. We present an algorithm using $2w-1$ chains and show that there is no better one. These problems come from a need for better algorithms that can be applied to scheduling. Each on-line chain partitioning algorithm schedules tasks in a multiprocessor environment, and therefore can be applied in order to minimize number of processors.
Infinite image partition regular matrices - Solution in C-sets

A finite or infinite matrix $A$ is image partition regular provided that whenever $\mathbb{N}$ is finitely colored, there must be some $\overset{\rightarrow}{x}$ with entries from $\mathbb{N}$ such that all entries of $A \overset{\rightarrow}{x}$ are in the same color class. Comparing to the finite case, infinite image partition regular matrices seem more harder to analyze. The concept of centrally image partition regular matrices were introduced to extend the results of finite image partition regular matrices to infinite one. In this paper, we shall introduce the notion of C-image partition regular matrices, an interesting subclass of centrally image partition regular matrices. Also we shall see that many of known centrally image partition regular matrices are C-image partition regular.
