Let $λ$ be a partition of the positive integer $n$ chosen umiformly at random among all such partitions. Let $L_n=L_n(λ)$ and $M_n=M_n(λ)$ be the largest part size and its multiplicity, respectively. For large $n$, we focus on a comparison between the partition statistics $L_n$ and $L_n M_n$. In terms of convergence in distribution, we show that they behave in the same way. However, it turns out that the expectation of $L_n M_n -L_n$ grows as fast as $\frac{1}{2}\log{n}$ We obtain a precise asymptotic expansion for this expectation and conclude with an open problem arising from this study.

A filtration of a representation whose successive quotients are isomorphic to Demazure modules is called an excellent filtration. In this paper we study graded multiplicities in excellent filtrations of fusion products for the current algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2[t]$. We give a combinatorial formula for the polynomials encoding these multiplicities in terms of two dimensional lattice paths. Corollaries to our main theorem include a combinatorial interpretation of various objects such as the coeffficients of Ramanujan's fifth order mock theta functions $φ_0, φ_1, ψ_0, ψ_1$, Kostka polynomials for hook partitions and quotients of Chebyshev polynomials. We also get a combinatorial interpretation of the graded multiplicities in a level one flag of a local Weyl module associated to the simple Lie algebras of type $B_n \text{ and } G_2$.
Pieri rules for the Jack polynomials in superspace and the 6-vertex model

We present Pieri rules for the Jack polynomials in superspace. The coefficients in the Pieri rules are, except for an extra determinant, products of quotients of linear factors in $α$ (expressed, as in the usual Jack polynomial case, in terms of certain hook-lengths in a Ferrers' diagram). We show that, surprisingly, the extra determinant is related to the partition function of the 6-vertex model. We give, as a conjecture, the Pieri rules for the Macdonald polynomials in superspace.

Circuits play a fundamental role in the theory of linear programming due to their intimate connection to algorithms of combinatorial optimization and the efficiency of the simplex method. We are interested in better understanding the properties of circuit walks in integral polyhedra. In this paper, we introduce a hierarchy for integral polyhedra based on different types of behavior exhibited by their circuit walks. Many problems in combinatorial optimization fall into the most interesting categories of this hierarchy - steps of circuit walks only stop at integer points, at vertices, or follow actual edges. We classify several classical families of polyhedra within the hierarchy, including 0/1-polytopes, polyhedra defined by totally unimodular matrices, and more specifically matroid polytopes, transportation polytopes, and partition polytopes. Finally, we prove three characterizations of the simple polytopes that appear in the bottom level of the hierarchy where all circuit walks are edge walks, showing that such polytopes constitute a generalization of simplices and parallelotopes.

The coinvariant algebra $R_n$ is a well-studied $\mathfrak{S}_n$-module that is a graded version of the regular representation of $\mathfrak{S}_n$. Using a straightening algorithm on monomials and the Garsia-Stanton basis, Adin, Brenti, and Roichman gave a description of the Frobenius image of $R_n$, graded by partitions, in terms of descents of standard Young tableaux. Motivated by the Delta Conjecture of Macdonald polynomials, Haglund, Rhoades, and Shimozono gave an extension of the coinvariant algebra $R_{n,k}$ and an extension of the Garsia-Stanton basis. Chan and Rhoades further extend these results from $\mathfrak{S}_n$ to the complex reflection group $G(r,1,n)$ by defining a $G(r,1,n)$ module $S_{n,k}$ that generalizes the coinvariant algebra for $G(r,1,n)$. We extend the results of Adin, Brenti, and Roichman to $R_{n,k}$ and $S_{n,k}$.
Tverberg partitions as weak epsilon-nets
We prove a Tverberg-type theorem using the probabilistic method. Given $\varepsilon >0$, we find the smallest number of partitions of a set $X$ in $R^d$ into $r$ parts needed in order to induce at least one Tverberg partition on every subset of $X$ with at least $\varepsilon |X|$ elements. This generalizes known results about Tverberg's theorem with tolerance.
On S-packing edge-colorings of cubic graphs
Given a non-decreasing sequence S = (s 1,s 2,. .. ,s k) of positive integers, an S-packing edge-coloring of a graph G is a partition of the edge set of G into k subsets {X 1 ,X 2,. .. ,X k } such that for each 1 $\le$ i $\le$ k, the distance between two distinct edges e, e ' $\in$ X i is at least s i + 1. This paper studies S-packing edge-colorings of cubic graphs. Among other results, we prove that cubic graphs having a 2-factor are (1,1,1,3,3)-packing edge-colorable, (1,1,1,4,4,4,4,4)-packing edge-colorable and (1,1,2,2,2,2,2)-packing edge-colorable. We determine sharper results for cubic graphs of bounded oddness and 3-edge-colorable cubic graphs and we propose many open problems.
Invariants of partitions and representative elements
The symbol invariant is used to describe the Springer correspondence for the classical groups by Lusztig. And the fingerprint invariant can be used to describe the Kazhdan-Lusztig map. They are invariants of rigid semisimple operators described by pairs of partitions $(λ^{'}, λ^{"})$. We construct a nice representative element of the rigid semisimple operators with the same symbol invariant. The fingerprint of the representative element can be obtained immediately. We also discuss the representative element of rigid semisimple operator with the same fingerprint invariant. Our construction can be regarded as the maps between these two invariants.

In this article we consider hook removal operators on odd partitions, i.e., partitions labelling odd-degree irreducible characters of finite symmetric groups. In particular we complete the discussion, started by Isaacs, Navarro, Olsson and Tiep in 2016, concerning the commutativity of such operators.
Vertex partitions of $(C_3,C_4,C_6)$-free planar graphs
A graph is $(k_1,k_2)$-colorable if its vertex set can be partitioned into a graph with maximum degree at most $k_1$ and and a graph with maximum degree at most $k_2$. We show that every $(C_3,C_4,C_6)$-free planar graph is $(0,6)$-colorable. We also show that deciding whether a $(C_3,C_4,C_6)$-free planar graph is $(0,3)$-colorable is NP-complete.

Let $H$ be a $k$-partite $k$-graph with $n$ vertices in each partition class, and let $δ_{k-1}(H)$ denote the minimum co-degree of $H$. We characterize those $H$ with $δ_{k-1}(H) \geq n/2$ and with no perfect matching. As a consequence we give an affirmative answer to the following question of Rödl and Ruciński: If $k$ is even or $n \not\equiv 2 \pmod 4$, does $δ_{k-1}(H) \geq n/2$ imply that $H$ has a perfect matching? We also give an example indicating that it is not sufficient to impose this degree bound on only two types of $(k-1)$-sets.
Backward induction in presence of cycles

For the classical backward induction algorithm, the input is an arbitrary $n$-person positional game with perfect information modeled by a finite acyclic directed graph (digraph) and the output is a profile $(x_1, \ldots, x_n)$ of pure positional strategies that form some special subgame perfect Nash equilibrium. We extend this algorithm to work with digraphs that may have directed cycles. Each digraph admits a unique partition into strongly connected components, which will be treated as the outcomes of the game. Such a game will be called a {\em deterministic graphical multistage}(DGMS) game. If we identify the outcomes corresponding to all strongly connected components, except terminal positions, we obtain the so-called {\em deterministic graphical}(DG) games, which are frequent in the literature. The outcomes of a DG game are all terminal positions and one special outcome $c$ that is assigned to all infinite plays. We modify the backward induction procedure to adapt it for the DGMS games. However, by doing so, we lose two important properties: the modified algorithm always outputs a {\em Nash equilibrium} (NE) only when $n = 2$ and, even in this case, this NE may be not {\em subgame perfect}. (Yet, in the zero-sum case it is.) The lack of these two properties is not a fault of the algorithm, just (subgame perfect) Nash equilibria in pure positional strategies may fail to exist in the considered game.

We derive a formula for the number of flip-equivalence classes of tilings of an $n$-gon by collections of tiles of shape dictated by an integer partition $λ$. The proof uses the Euler-Poincaré formula; and the formula itself generalises the Euler-Poincaré formula for associahedra.

In this paper, we define the combinatorial wall-crossing transformation and the generalized column regularization on partitions and prove that a certain composition of these two transformations has the same effect on the one-row partition $(n)$. As corollaries we explicitly describe the quotients of the partitions which arise in this process. We also prove that the one-row partition is the unique partition that stays regular at any step of the wall-crossing transformation.
Fingerprint Invariant of Partitions and Construction
The fingerprint invariant of partitions can be used to describe the Kazhdan-Lusztig map for the classical groups. We discuss the basic properties of fingerprint. We construct the fingerprints of rigid partitions in the $B_n$, $C_n$, and $D_n$ theories. To calculate the fingerprint of a rigid semisimple operator $(λ^{'};λ^{"})$, we decompose $λ^{'}+λ^{"}$ into several blocks. We define operators to calculate the fingerprint for each block using the results of fingerprint of the unipotent operators.
Enumeration of lozenge tilings of a hexagon with a shamrock missing on the symmetry axis

In their paper about a dual of MacMahon's classical theorem on plane partitions, Ciucu and Krattenthaler proved a closed form product formula for the tiling number of a hexagon with a "shamrock", a union of four adjacent triangles, removed in the center (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 2013). Lai later presented a $q$-enumeration for lozenge tilings of a hexagon with a shamrock removed from the boundary (European J. Combin. 2017). It appears that the above are the only two positions of the shamrock hole that yield nice tiling enumerations. In this paper, we show that in the case of symmetric hexagons, we always have a simple product formula for the number of tilings when removing a shamrock at any position along the symmetry axis. Our result also generalizes Eisenkölbl's related work about lozenge tilings of a hexagon with two unit triangles missing on the symmetry axis (Electron. J. Combin. 1999).
Proof of a conjecture of Morales-Pak-Panova on reverse plane partitions

Using equivariant cohomology theory, Naruse obtained a hook length formula for the number of standard Young tableaux of skew shape $λ/μ$. Morales, Pak and Panova found two $q$-analogues of Naruse's formula respectively by counting semistandard Young tableaux of shape $λ/μ$ and reverse plane partitions of shape $λ/μ$. When $λ$ and $μ$ are both staircase shape partitions, Morales, Pak and Panova conjectured that the generating function of reverse plane partitions of shape $λ/ μ$ can be expressed as a determinant whose entries are related to $q$-analogues of the Euler numbers. The objective of this paper is to prove this conjecture.

Let $p_{-k}(n)$ enumerate the number of $k$-colored partitions of $n$. In this paper, we establish some infinite families of congruences modulo 25 for $k$-colored partitions. Furthermore, we prove some infinite families of Ramanujan-type congruences modulo powers of 5 for $p_{-k}(n)$ with $k=2, 6$, and $7$. For example, for all integers $n\geq0$ and $α\geq1$, we prove that \begin{align*} p_{-2}\left(5^{2α-1}n+\dfrac{7\times5^{2α-1}+1}{12}\right) &\equiv0\pmod{5^α} \end{align*} and \begin{align*} p_{-2}\left(5^{2α}n+\dfrac{11\times5^{2α}+1}{12}\right) &\equiv0\pmod{5^{α+1}}. \end{align*}
Reverse plane partitions of skew staircase shapes and $q$-Euler numbers

Recently, Naruse discovered a hook length formula for the number of standard Young tableaux of a skew shape. Morales, Pak and Panova found two $q$-analogs of Naruse's hook length formula over semistandard Young tableaux (SSYTs) and reverse plane partitions (RPPs). As an application of their formula, they expressed certain $q$-Euler numbers, which are generating functions for SSYTs and RPPs of a zigzag border strip, in terms of weighted Dyck paths. They found a determinantal formula for the generating function for SSYTs of a skew staircase shape and proposed two conjectures related to RPPs of the same shape. One conjecture is a determinantal formula for the number of \emph{pleasant diagrams} in terms of Schröder paths and the other conjecture is a determinantal formula for the generating function for RPPs of a skew staircase shape in terms of $q$-Euler numbers.
In this paper, we show that the results of Morales, Pak and Panova on the $q$-Euler numbers can be derived from previously known results due to Prodinger by manipulating continued fractions. These $q$-Euler numbers are naturally expressed as generating functions for alternating permutations with certain statistics involving \emph{maj}. It has been proved by Huber and Yee that these $q$-Euler numbers are generating functions for alternating permutations with certain statistics involving \emph{inv}. By modifying Foata's bijection we construct a bijection on alternating permutations which sends the statistics involving \emph{maj} to the statistic involving \emph{inv}. We also prove the aforementioned two conjectures of Morales, Pak and Panova.

This paper analyzes a certain action called "whirling" that can be defined on any family of functions between two finite sets equipped with a linear (or cyclic) ordering. Many maps of interest in dynamical algebraic combinatorics, such as rowmotion of order ideals, can be represented as a composition of "toggling" involutions, each of which modifies its object only locally. Similarly whirling is made up of locally-acting whirling maps which directly generalize toggles, but cycle through more than two possible outputs. In this first paper on whirling, we consider it as a map on subfamilies of functions between finite sets.
For whirling acting on the set of injections or the set of surjections, we prove that within each whirling orbit, any two elements of the codomain appear as outputs of functions the same number of times. This result can be stated in terms of the homomesy phenomenon, which occurs when a statistic has the same average across every orbit. We further explore homomesy results and conjectures for whirling on restricted-growth words, which correspond to set partitions. These results extend the collection of combinatorial objects for which we have interesting dynamics and homomesy, and open the door to considering whirling in other contexts.
