Families of Type-2 Isomorphic Circulant Graphs of Order $np^3$ w.r.t. $r = p$ and Their Abelian Groups
Circulant graphs $C_n(R)$ and $C_n(S)$ are said to be \emph{Adam's isomorphic} if there exist some $a\in \mathbb{Z}_n^*$ such that $S = a R$ under arithmetic reflexive modulo $n$. $C_n(R)$ is said to have {\it Cayley Isomorphism} (CI)-property if whenever $C_n(S)$ is isomorphic to $C_n(R),$ they are of Adam's isomorphic. CI-problem determines which graphs (or which groups) have the $CI$-property. Classification of cyclic $CI$-groups was completed but investigation of graphs without $CI$-property is not much done. Vilfred defined Type-2 isomorphism, different from Adam's isomorphism, of circulant graphs $C_n(R)$ w.r.t. $r$, $r\in R$ $\ni$ $\gcd(n, r) = m > 1$. Type-2 isomorphic circulant graphs don't have CI-property and we obtained such graphs of order $n$ for $r$ = 2,3,5,7, $n\in\mathbb{N}$. In this paper, we obtain Type-2 isomorphic circulant graphs of order $np^3$ w.r.t. $r = p$, and abelian groups on these isomorphic graphs where $p$ is a prime number and $n\in\mathbb{N}$. Theorems \ref{c10} and \ref{c13} are the main results. Using Theorem \ref{c13}, a list of abelian groups on the $p$ isomorphic circulant graphs $C_{np^3}(R^{np^3,x+yp}_i)$ of Type-2 w.r.t. $r = p$ for $i$ = 1 to $p$ and for $p$ = 3,5,7, $n$ = 1,2 and $y$ = 0 is given in the Annexure, $1 \leq x \leq p-1$, $y\in\mathbb{N}_0$, $0 \leq y \leq np - 1$, $1 \leq x+yp \leq np^2-1$, $p,np^3-p\in R^{np^3,x+yp}_i$ and $i,n,x\in\mathbb{N}$.

Based on maximally entangled states, we explore the constructions of mutually unbiased bases in bipartite quantum systems. We present a new way to construct mutually unbiased bases by difference matrices in the theory of combinatorial designs. In particular, we establish $q$ mutually unbiased bases with $q-1$ maximally entangled bases and one product basis in $\mathbb{C}^q\otimes \mathbb{C}^q$ for arbitrary prime power $q$. In addition, we construct maximally entangled bases for dimension of composite numbers of non-prime power, such as five maximally entangled bases in $\mathbb{C}^{12}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{12}$ and $\mathbb{C}^{21}\otimes\mathbb{C}^{21}$, which improve the known lower bounds for $d=3m$, with $(3,m)=1$ in $\mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes \mathbb{C}^{d}$. Furthermore, we construct $p+1$ mutually unbiased bases with $p$ maximally entangled bases and one product basis in $\mathbb{C}^p\otimes \mathbb{C}^{p^2}$ for arbitrary prime number $p$.

Let $\ell$ be a prime number. The Iwasawa theory of multigraphs is the systematic study of growth patterns in the number of spanning trees in abelian $\ell$-towers of multigraphs. In this context, growth patterns are realized by certain analogues of Iwasawa invariants, which depend on the prime $\ell$ and the abelian $\ell$-tower of multigraphs. We formulate and study statistical questions about the behaviour of the Iwasawa $μ$ and $λ$ invariants.
Towards the classification of exceptional scattered polynomials

Scattered polynomials over finite fields attracted an increasing attention in the last years. One of the reasons is their deep connection with Maximum Rank Distance (MRD) codes. Known classification results for exceptional scattered polynomials, i.e. polynomials which are scattered over infinite field extensions, are limited to the cases where their index $\ell$ is small, or a prime number larger than the $q$-degree $k$ of the polynomial, or an integer smaller than the $k$ in the case where $k$ is a prime. In this paper we completely classify exceptional scattered polynomials when the maximum between $\ell$ and $k$ is odd, and give partial results when it is even, extending a result of Ferraguti and Micheli in 2021.
Degenerations and order of graphs realized by finite abelian groups
Let G_1 and G_2 be two groups. If a group homomorphism \varphi : G_1 \longrightarrow G_2 maps a \in G_1 into b \in G_2 such that \varphi(a) = b, then we say a degenerates to b and if every element of G_1 degenerates to elements in G_2, then we say G_1 degenerates to G_2. In this paper, we study degeneration in graphs and show that degeneration in groups is a particular case of degeneration in graphs. We exhibit some interesting properties of degeneration in graphs. We use this concept to present a pictorial representation of graphs realized by finite abelian groups. We discus some partial orders on the set T_p_1 \dots T_p_n of all graphs realized by finite abelian p_r-groups, where each p_r, 1 \leq r \leq n, is a prime number. We show that each finite abelian p_r-group of rank n can be identified with saturated chains of Young diagrams in the poset T_p_1 \dots T_p_n. We present a combinatorial formula which represents the degree of a projective representation of a symmetric group. This formula determines the number of different saturated chains in T_p_1 \cdots T_p_n and the number of finite abelian groups of different orders.
The asymptotic of the number of permutations whose cycle lengths are prime numbers
Let $A$ be a set of natural numbers and let $S_{n,A}$ be the set of all permutations of $[n]=\{1,2,...,n\}$ with cycle lengths belonging to $A$. Furthermore, let $\mid A(n)\mid$ denote the cardinality of the set $A(n)=A\cap [n]$. The limit $ρ=\lim_{n\to\infty}\mid A(n)\mid/n$ (if it exists) is called the density of set $A$. It turns out that, as $n\to\infty$, the cardinality $\mid S_{n,A}\mid$ of the set $S_{n,A}$ essentially depends on $ρ$. The case $ρ>0$ was studied by several authors under certain additional conditions on $A$. In 1999, Kolchin noticed that there is a lack studies on classes of permutations for which $ρ=0$. In this context, he also proposed investigations on certain particular cases. In this paper, we consider the permutations whose cycle lengths are prime numbers, that is, we assume that $A=\mathcal{P}$, where $\mathcal{P}$ denotes the set of all primes. For this class of permutations, the Prime Number Theorem implies that $ρ=0$. In this paper, we show that, as $n\to\infty$, the ratio $S_{n,\mathcal{P}}/(n-1)!$ approaches a finite limit and determine its value explicitly. Our method of proof employs classical Tauberian theorems.
Primitive permutation groups of degree 3p
This paper presents an analysis of primitive permutation groups of degree $3p$, where $p$ is a prime number, analogous to H. Wielandt's treatment of groups of degree $2p$. It is also intended as an example of the systematic use of combinatorial methods as surveyed in \S6 for distilling information about a permutation group from knowledge of the decomposition of its character. The work is organised into three parts. Part I contains the lesser half of the calculation, the determination of the decomposition of the permutation character. Part II contains a survey of the combinatorial methods and, based on these methods, the major part of the calculation. Part III ties up loose ends left earlier in the paper and gives a tabulation of detailed numerical results.

The combinatorial refinement techniques have proven to be an efficient approach to isomorphism testing for particular classes of graphs. If the number of refinement rounds is small, this puts the corresponding isomorphism problem in a low-complexity class. We investigate the round complexity of the 2-dimensional Weisfeiler-Leman algorithm on circulant graphs, i.e. on Cayley graphs of the cyclic group $\mathbb{Z}_n$, and prove that the number of rounds until stabilization is bounded by $\mathcal{O}(d(n)\log n)$, where $d(n)$ is the number of divisors of $n$. As a particular consequence, isomorphism can be tested in NC for connected circulant graphs of order $p^\ell$ with $p$ an odd prime, $\ell>3$ and vertex degree $Δ$ smaller than $p$.
We also show that the color refinement method (also known as the 1-dimensional Weisfeiler-Leman algorithm) computes a canonical labeling for every non-trivial circulant graph with a prime number of vertices after individualization of two appropriately chosen vertices. Thus, the canonical labeling problem for this class of graphs has at most the same complexity as color refinement, which results in a time bound of $\mathcal{O}(Δn\log n)$. Moreover, this provides a first example where a sophisticated approach to isomorphism testing put forward by Tinhofer has a real practical meaning.

A set of integers greater than 1 is primitive if no member in the set divides another. Erdős proved in 1935 that the series $f(A) = \sum_{a\in A}1/(a \log a)$ is uniformly bounded over all choices of primitive sets $A$. In 1986 he asked if this bound is attained for the set of prime numbers. In this article we answer in the affirmative. As further applications of the method, we make progress towards a question of Erdős, Sárközy, and Szemerédi from 1968. We also refine the classical Davenport-Erdős theorem on infinite divisibility chains, and extend a result of Erdős, Sárközy, and Szemerédi from 1966.

For a prime number $p$, let $A_3(p)= | \{ m \in \mathbb{N}: \exists m_1,m_2,m_3 \in \mathbb{N}, \frac{m}{p}=\frac{1}{m_1}+\frac{1}{m_2}+\frac{1}{m_3} \} |$. In 2019 Luca and Pappalardi proved that $x (\log x)^3 \ll \sum_{p \le x} A_{3}(p) \ll x (\log x)^5$. We improve the upper bound, showing $\sum_{p \le x} A_{3}(p) \ll x (\log x)^3 (\log \log x)^2$.
Rank-Metric Codes, Semifields, and the Average Critical Problem

We investigate two fundamental questions intersecting coding theory and combinatorial geometry, with emphasis on their connections. These are the problem of computing the asymptotic density of MRD codes in the rank metric, and the Critical Problem for combinatorial geometries by Crapo and Rota. Using methods from semifield theory, we derive two lower bounds for the density function of full-rank, square MRD codes. The first bound is sharp when the matrix size is a prime number and the underlying field is sufficiently large, while the second bound applies to the binary field. We then take a new look at the Critical Problem for combinatorial geometries, approaching it from a qualitative, often asymptotic, viewpoint. We illustrate the connection between this very classical problem and that of computing the asymptotic density of MRD codes. Finally, we study the asymptotic density of some special families of codes in the rank metric, including the symmetric, alternating and Hermitian ones. In particular, we show that the optimal codes in these three contexts are sparse.

We consider the sequence of integers whose $n$th term has base-$p$ expansion given by the $n$th row of Pascal's triangle modulo $p$ (where $p$ is a prime number). We first present and generalize well-known relations concerning this sequence. Then, with the great help of Sloane's On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences, we show that it appears naturally as a subsequence of a $2$-regular sequence. Its study provides interesting relations and surprisingly involves odious and evil numbers, Nim-sum and even Gray codes. Furthermore, we examine similar sequences emerging from prime numbers involving alternating sum-of-digits modulo~$p$. This note ends with a discussion about Pascal's pyramid involving trinomial coefficients.

We study Brown's definition of the probabilistic zeta function of a finite lattice as a generalization of that of a finite group. We propose a natural alternative or extension that may be better suited for non-atomistic lattices. The probabilistic zeta function admits a general Dirichlet series expression, which unlike for groups, need not be ordinary. We compute the function for several examples of finite lattices, establishing a connection with the Stirling numbers of the second kind in the case of the divisibility lattice. Furthermore, in the context of moving from groups to lattices, we are interested in lattices with probabilistic zeta function given by ordinary Dirichlet series. In this regard, we focus on partition lattices and $d$-divisible partition lattices. Using the prime number theorem, we show that the probabilistic zeta functions of the latter typically fail to be ordinary Dirichlet series.
Combinatorial Relationship Between Finite Fields and Fixed Points of Functions Going Up and Down
We explore a combinatorial bijection between two seemingly unrelated topics: the roots of irreducible polynomials of degree $m$ over a finite field $F_p$ for a prime number $p$ and the number of points that are periodic of order $m$ for a continuous piece-wise linear function $g_p:[0,1]\rightarrow[0,1]$ that \emph{goes up and down $p$ times} with slope $\pm 1/p$. We provide a bijection between $F_{p^n}$ and the fixed points of $g^n_p$ that naturally relates some of the structure in both worlds. Also we extend our result to other families of continuous functions that goes up and down $p$ times, in particular to Chebyshev polynomials, where we get a better understanding of its fixed points. A generalization for other piece-wise linear functions that are not necessarily continuous is also provided.

Let $G$ be a finite abelian group, written additively, and $H$ a subgroup of~$G$. The \emph{subgroup sum graph} $Γ_{G,H}$ is the graph with vertex set $G$, in which two distinct vertices $x$ and $y$ are joined if $x+y\in H\setminus\{0\}$. These graphs form a fairly large class of Cayley sum graphs. Among cases which have been considered previously are the \emph{prime sum graphs}, in the case where $H=pG$ for some prime number $p$. In this paper we present their structure and a detailed analysis of their properties. We also consider the simpler graph $Γ^+_{G,H}$, which we refer to as the \emph{extended subgroup sum graph}, in which $x$ and $y$ are joined if $x+y\in H$: the subgroup sum is obtained by removing from this graph the partial matching of edges having the form $\{x,-x\}$ when $2x\ne0$. We study perfectness, clique number and independence number, connectedness, diameter, spectrum, and domination number of these graphs and their complements. We interpret our general results in detail in the prime sum graphs.

The Erdős primitive set conjecture states that the sum $f(A) = \sum_{a\in A}\frac{1}{a\log a}$, ranging over any primitive set $A$ of positive integers, is maximized by the set of prime numbers. Recently Laib, Derbal, and Mechik proved that the translated Erdős conjecture for the sum $f(A,h) = \sum_{a\in A}\frac{1}{a(\log a+h)}$ is false starting at $h=81$, by comparison with semiprimes. In this note we prove that such falsehood occurs already at $h= 1.04\cdots$, and show this translate is best possible for semiprimes. We also obtain results for translated sums of $k$-almost primes with larger $k$.

Let $q$ be a power of a prime number and $V$ be the $2$-dimensional column vector space over a finite field $\mathbb{F}_{q}$. Assume that $SL_2(V)<G\leq GL_2(V)$. In this paper we prove an Erd{ő}s-Ko-Rado theorem for intersecting sets of G and we show that every maximum intersecting set of $G$ is either a coset of the stabilizer of a point or a coset of $\mathcal{G}_{\langle w\rangle}$, where $\mathcal{G}_{\langle w\rangle}=\{M\in G:\forall v\in V, Mv-v\in \langle w\rangle\}$, for some $w\in V\setminus \{0\}$. It is also shown that every intersecting set of $G$ is contained in a maximum intersecting set.

The celebrated Touchard congruence states that $B_{n+p}B_n+B_{n+1}$ modulo $p$, where $p$ is a prime number and $B_n$ denotes the Bell number. In this paper we study divisibility properties of $B_{n-p}$ and their generalizations involving higher powers of $p$ as well as the $r$-Bell numbers. In particular, we show a closely relation of the considered problem to the Sun-Zagier congruence, which is additionally improved by deriving \mbox{a new} relation between $r$-Bell and derangement numbers. Finally, we conclude some results on the period of the Bell numbers modulo $p$.
On automorphisms of the double cover of a circulant graph

A graph $X$ is said to be "unstable" if the direct product $X \times K_2$ (also called the canonical double cover of $X$) has automorphisms that do not come from automorphisms of its factors $X$ and $K_2$. It is "nontrivially unstable" if it is unstable, connected, and nonbipartite, and no two distinct vertices of X have exactly the same neighbors.
We find three new conditions that each imply a circulant graph is unstable. (These yield infinite families of nontrivially unstable circulant graphs that were not previously known.) We also find all of the nontrivially unstable circulant graphs of order $2p$, where $p$ is any prime number.
Our results imply that there does not exist a nontrivially unstable circulant graph of order $n$ if and only if either $n$ is odd, or $n < 8$, or $n = 2p$, for some prime number $p$ that is congruent to $3$ modulo $4$.
A Note on the Number of Permutations whose Cycle Lengths Are Prime Numbers
Let $A$ be a set of natural numbers and let $S_{n,A}$ be the set of all permutations of $[n]=\{1,2,...,n\}$ with cycle lengths belonging to $A$. For $A(n)=A\cap [n]$, the limit $ρ=\lim_{n\to\infty}\mid A(n)\mid/n$ (if it esists) is usually called the density of set $A$. (Here $\mid B\mid$ stands for the cardinality of the set $B$.) Several studies show that the asymptotic behavior of the cardinality $\mid S_{n,A}\mid$, as $n\to\infty$, depends on the density $ρ$. It turns out that the asumption $ρ>0$ plays an essential role in the asymptotic analysis of $\mid S_{n,A}\mid$. Kolchin (1999) noticed that there is a lack of studies on classes of permutations satisfying $ρ=0$ and proposed investigations on certain particular cases. In this note, we consider the permutations whose cycle lengths are prime numbers, that is, we assume that $A=\mathcal{P}$, where $\mathcal{P}$ denotes the set of all primes. From the Prime Number Theorem it follows that $ρ=0$ for this class of permutations. We deduce an asymptotic formula for the summatory function $\sum_{k\le n}\mid S_{k,\mathcal{P}}\mid/k!$ as $n\to\infty$. In our proof we employ the classical Hardy-Littlewood-Karamata Tauberian theorem.
