Satin Non-Woven Fabrics for Designing of Self-Regulating Breathable Building Skins
In this paper, we introduce the concept of 2-way 2-fold genus-1 non-woven fabrics that can be used to design self-regulating breathable building skins. The advantage of non-woven structures over woven structures for breathable skin design is that they can completely be closed to stop air exchange. We have developed a theoretical framework for such non-woven structures starting from the mathematical theory of biaxial 2-fold Genus-1 woven fabrics. By re-purposing a mathematical notation that is used to describe 2-fold 2-way 2-fold genus-1 woven fabrics, we identify and classify non-woven fabrics. Within this classification, we have identified a special subset that corresponds to satin woven fabrics and allows for maximum air exchange. Any other subset of non-woven structures that correspond to other classical 2-way 2-fold genus-1 fabrics, such as plain or twill, will allow for less air exchange. We also show that there exists another subset of satin non-woven fabrics that can provide the biggest openings.
A note on the indivisibility of the Henson graphs
We show that in contrast to the Rado graph, the Henson graphs are not computably indivisible.
The differential properties of certain permutation polynomials over finite fields

Finding functions, particularly permutations, with good differential properties has received a lot of attention due to their varied applications. For instance, in combinatorial design theory, a correspondence of perfect $c$-nonlinear functions and difference sets in some quasigroups was recently shown by Anbar et al. (J. Comb. Des. 31(12):1-24, 2023). Additionally, in a recent manuscript by Pal et al. (Adv. Math. Communications, to appear), a very interesting connection between the $c$-differential uniformity and boomerang uniformity, when $c=-1$, was pointed out, showing that they are the same for an odd APN permutation, sparking yet more interest in the construction of functions with low $c$-differential uniformity. We investigate the $c$-differential uniformity of some classes of permutation polynomials. As a result, we add four more classes of permutation polynomials to the family of functions that only contains a few (non-trivial) perfect $c$-nonlinear functions over finite fields of even characteristic. Moreover, we include a class of permutation polynomials with low $c$-differential uniformity over the field of characteristic~$3$. To solve the involved equations over finite fields, we use various number theoretical techniques, in particular, we find explicitly many Walsh transform coefficients and Weil sums that may be of an independent interest.
An esoteric identity with many parameters and other elliptic extensions of elementary identities

We provide elliptic extensions of elementary identities such as the sum of the first $n$ odd or even numbers, the geometric sum and the sum of the first $n$ cubes. Many such identities, and their $q$-analogues, are indefinite sums, and can be obtained from telescoping. So we used telescoping in our study to find elliptic extensions of these identities. In the course of our study, we obtained an identity with many parameters, which appears to be new even in the $q$-case. In addition, we recover some $q$-identities due to Warnaar.
Value sets of non-permutation polynomials over the residue class rings of integers

In this paper, we study the value sets of non-permutation polynomial functions over the residue class ring $\mathbb{Z}/m\mathbb{Z}$. When $m=p^r$ is a power of some prime $p$, an upper bound is given for the size of the value set of a polynomial function which is not a permutation. We also show that this upper bound can be achieved by some integral polynomials. Finally, we generalize the results for any positive integer $m$ with known prime decomposition.

In this paper we consider the eigenvalues and the Seidel eigenvalues of a chain graph. An$\dbar$elić, da Fonseca, Simić, and Du \cite{andelic2020tridiagonal} conjectured that there do not exist non-isomorphic cospectral chain graphs with respect to the adjacency spectrum. Here we disprove this conjecture. Furthermore, by considering the relation between the Seidel matrix and the adjacency matrix of a graph, we solve two problems on the number of distinct Seidel eigenvalues of a chain graph, which was posed by Mandal, Mehatari, and Das \cite{mandal2022spectrum}.
The Toll Walk Transit Function of a Graph: Axiomatic Characterizations and First-Order Non-definability

A walk $W=w_1w_2\dots w_k$, $k\geq 2$, is called a toll walk if $w_1\neq w_k$ and $w_2$ and $w_{k-1}$ are the only neighbors of $w_1$ and $w_k$, respectively, on $W$ in a graph $G$. A toll walk interval $T(u,v)$, $u,v\in V(G)$, contains all the vertices that belong to a toll walk between $u$ and $v$. The toll walk intervals yield a toll walk transit function $T:V(G)\times V(G)\rightarrow 2^{V(G)}$. We represent several axioms that characterize the toll walk transit function among chordal graphs, trees, asteroidal triple-free graphs, Ptolemaic graphs, and distance hereditary graphs. We also show that the toll walk transit function can not be described in the language of first-order logic for an arbitrary graph.
Finding a Maximum Restricted $t$-Matching via Boolean Edge-CSP

The problem of finding a maximum $2$-matching without short cycles has received significant attention due to its relevance to the Hamilton cycle problem. This problem is generalized to finding a maximum $t$-matching which excludes specified complete $t$-partite subgraphs, where $t$ is a fixed positive integer. The polynomial solvability of this generalized problem remains an open question. In this paper, we present polynomial-time algorithms for the following two cases of this problem: in the first case the forbidden complete $t$-partite subgraphs are edge-disjoint; and in the second case the maximum degree of the input graph is at most $2t-1$. Our result for the first case extends the previous work of Nam (1994) showing the polynomial solvability of the problem of finding a maximum $2$-matching without cycles of length four, where the cycles of length four are vertex-disjoint. The second result expands upon the works of Bérczi and Végh (2010) and Kobayashi and Yin (2012), which focused on graphs with maximum degree at most $t+1$. Our algorithms are obtained from exploiting the discrete structure of restricted $t$-matchings and employing an algorithm for the Boolean edge-CSP.
The miniversal deformation of certain complete intersection monomial curves
The aim of this paper is to provide an explicit basis of the miniversal deformation of a monomial curve defined by a free semigroup -- these curves make up a notable family of complete intersection monomial curves. First, we dispense a general decomposition result of a basis of the miniversal deformation of any complete intersection monomial curve. As a consequence, we explicitly calculate this basis in the particular case of a monomial curve defined from a free semigroup. This explicit computation yields some estimates for the dimension of the moduli space of these family of curves.

For every $k\ge 2$ and $Δ$, we prove that there exists a constant $C_{Δ,k}$ such that the following holds. For every graph $H$ with $χ(H)=k$ and every tree with at least $C_{Δ,k}|H|$ vertices and maximum degree at most $Δ$, the Ramsey number $R(T,H)$ is $(k-1)(|T|-1)+σ(H)$, where $σ(H)$ is the size of a smallest colour class across all proper $k$-colourings of $H$. This is tight up to the value of $C_{Δ,k}$, and confirms a conjecture of Balla, Pokrovskiy, and Sudakov.
Anti-van der Waerden Numbers of Graph Products with Trees
Given a graph $G$, an exact $r$-coloring of $G$ is a surjective function $c:V(G) \to [1,\dots,r]$. An arithmetic progression in $G$ of length $j$ with common difference $d$ is a set of vertices $\{v_1,\dots, v_j\}$ such that $dist(v_i,v_{i+1}) = d$ for $1\le i < j$. An arithmetic progression is rainbow if all of the vertices are colored distinctly. The fewest number of colors that guarantees a rainbow arithmetic progression of length three is called the anti-van der Waerden number of $G$ and is denoted $aw(G,3)$. It is known that $3 \le aw(G\square H,3) \le 4$. Here we determine exact values $aw(T\square T',3)$ for some trees $T$ and $T'$, determine $aw(G\square T,3)$ for some trees $T$, and determine $aw(G\square H,3)$ for some graphs $G$ and $H$.

We show that if $K\ge1$ is a parameter and $S$ is a finite symmetric subset of a group containing the identity such $|S^{2n}|\le K|S^n|$ for some integer $n\ge2K^2$, then $|S^{3n}|\le\exp(\exp(O(K^2)))|S^n|$. Such a result was previously known only under the stronger assumption that $|S^{2n+1}|\le K|S^n|$. We prove similar results for locally compact groups and vertex-transitive graphs. We indicate some results in the structure theory of vertex-transitive graphs of polynomial growth whose hypotheses can be weakened as a result.
Tight bounds on adjacency labels for monotone graph classes
A class of graphs admits an adjacency labeling scheme of size $b(n)$, if the vertices in each of its $n$-vertex graphs can be assigned binary strings (called labels) of length $b(n)$ so that the adjacency of two vertices can be determined solely from their labels.
We give tight bounds on the size of adjacency labels for every family of monotone (i.e., subgraph-closed) classes with a well-behaved growth function between $2^{O(n \log n)}$ and $2^{O(n^{2-δ})}$ for any $δ> 0$. Specifically, we show that for any function $f: \mathbb N \to \mathbb R$ satisfying $\log n \leqslant f(n) \leqslant n^{1-δ}$ for any fixed $δ> 0$, and some~sub-multiplicativity condition, there are monotone graph classes with growth $2^{O(nf(n))}$ that do not admit adjacency labels of size at most $f(n) \log n$. On the other hand, any such class does admit adjacency labels of size $O(f(n)\log n)$. Surprisingly this tight bound is a $Θ(\log n)$ factor away from the information-theoretic bound of $Ω(f(n))$. The special case when $f = \log$ implies that the recently-refuted Implicit Graph Conjecture [Hatami and Hatami, FOCS 2022] also fails within monotone classes.
We further show that the Implicit Graph Conjecture holds for all monotone \emph{small} classes. In other words, any monotone class with growth rate at most $n!\,c^n$ for some constant $c>0$, admits adjacency labels of information-theoretic order optimal size. In fact, we show a more general result that is of independent interest: any monotone small class of graphs has bounded degeneracy. We conjecture that the Implicit Graph Conjecture holds for all hereditary small classes.

Assuming Stanley's $P$-partition conjecture holds, the regular Schur labeled skew shape posets with underlying set $\{1,2,\ldots, n\}$ are precisely the posets $P$ such that the $P$-partition generating function is symmetric and the set of linear extensions of $P$, denoted $Σ_L(P)$, is a left weak Bruhat interval in the symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_n$. We describe the permutations in $Σ_L(P)$ in terms of reading words of standard Young tableaux when $P$ is a regular Schur labeled skew shape poset, and classify $Σ_L(P)$'s up to descent-preserving isomorphism as $P$ ranges over regular Schur labeled skew shape posets. The results obtained are then applied to classify the $0$-Hecke modules $\mathsf{M}_P$ associated with regular Schur labeled skew shape posets $P$ up to isomorphism. Then we characterize regular Schur labeled skew shape posets as the posets whose linear extensions form a dual plactic-closed subset of $\mathfrak{S}_n$. Using this characterization, we construct distinguished filtrations of $\mathsf{M}_P$ with respect to the Schur basis when $P$ is a regular Schur labeled skew shape poset. Further issues concerned with the classification and decomposition of the $0$-Hecke modules $\mathsf{M}_P$ are also discussed.
The two-variable hypergraph Tutte polynomial via embedding activities
We prove that the two-variable Tutte polynomial of hypergraphs can be defined via embedding activities. We also prove that embedding activities of hypergraphs yield a Crapo-style decomposition of $\mathbb{Z}^E$, thus generalizing Bernardi's results from graphs to hypergraphs.
We also show that hypergraph embedding activities do not fit into the $Δ$-activity framework of Courtiel. Based on this observation, we construct a graph with an activity notion that yields a Crapo decomposition, but cannot be obtained as a $Δ$-activity.
Generalized locally compact models for approximate groups
We give a proof of the existence of generalized definable locally compact models for arbitrary approximate subgroups via an application of topological dynamics in model theory. Our construction is simpler and shorter than the original one obtained by Hrushovski in ``Beyond the Lascar group'', and it uses only basic model theory (mostly spaces of types and realizations of types). The main tools are Ellis groups from topological dynamics considered for suitable spaces of types. However, we need to redevelop some basic theory of topological dynamics for suitable ``locally compact flows'' in place of (compact) flows. We also prove that the generalized definable locally compact model which we constructed is universal in an appropriate category. We note that the main result yields structural information on definable generic subsets of definable groups, with a more precise structural result for generics in the universal cover of $\textrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{R})$.
The maximum number of connected sets in regular graphs

We improve the best known lower bounds on the exponential behavior of the maximum of the number of connected sets, $N(G)$, and dominating connected sets, $N_{dom}(G)$, for regular graphs. These lower bounds are improved by constructing a family of graphs defined in terms of a small base graph (a Moore graph), using a combinatorial reduction of these graphs to rectangular boards followed by using linear algebra to show that the lower bound is related to the largest eigenvalue of a coefficient matrix associated with the base graph. We also determine the exact maxima of $N(G)$ and $N_{dom}(G)$ for cubic and quartic graphs of small order. We give multiple results in favor of a conjecture that each Moore graph $M$ maximizes the base indicating the exponential behavior of the number of connected vertex subsets among graphs with at least $|M|$ vertices and the same regularity. We improve the best known upper bounds for $N(G)$ and $N_{dom}(G)$ conditional on this conjecture.

A simple graph is triangular if every edge is contained in a triangle. A sequence of integers is graphical if it is the degree sequence of a simple graph. Egan and Nikolayevsky recently conjectured that every graphical sequence whose terms are all at least 4 is the degree sequence of a triangular simple graph, and proved this in some special cases. In this paper we state and prove the analogous version of this conjecture for multigraphs.
Algorithms for Chip-Firing on Weighted Graphs
We extend the notion of chip-firing to weighted graphs, and generalize the Greedy Algorithm and Dhar's Burning Algorithm to weighted graphs. For a vertex $q \in V(Γ)$, we give an upper bound for the number of linearly equivalent $q$-reduced divisors. Finally, we illustrate a method of finding all maximal unwinnable divisors on weighted graphs.
