On the support of Grothendieck polynomials
Grothendieck polynomials $\mathfrak{G}_w$ of permutations $w\in S_n$ were introduced by Lascoux and Schützenberger in 1982 as a set of distinguished representatives for the K-theoretic classes of Schubert cycles in the K-theory of the flag variety of $\mathbb{C}^n$. We conjecture that the exponents of nonzero terms of the Grothendieck polynomial $\mathfrak{G}_w$ form a poset under componentwise comparison that is isomorphic to an induced subposet of $\mathbb{Z}^n$. When $w\in S_n$ avoids a certain set of patterns, we conjecturally connect the coefficients of $\mathfrak{G}_w$ with the Möbius function values of the aforementioned poset with $\hat{0}$ appended. We prove special cases of our conjectures for Grassmannian and fireworks permutations.
Pattern-avoidance and Fuss-Catalan numbers

We study a subset of permutations, where entries are restricted to having the same remainder as the index, modulo some integer $k \geq 2$. We show that when also imposing the classical 132- or 213-avoidance restriction on the permutations, we recover the Fuss--Catalan numbers and some special cases of the Raney numbers.
Surprisingly, an analogous statement also holds when we impose the mod $k$ restriction on a Catalan family of subexcedant functions.
Finally, we completely enumerate all combinations of mod-$k$-alternating permutations, avoiding two patterns of length 3. This is analogous to the systematic study by Simion and Schmidt, of permutations avoiding two patterns of length 3.

We consider products of $ψ$ classes and products of $ω$ classes on $\overline{M}_{0,n+3}$. For each product, we construct a flat family of subschemes of $\overline{M}_{0,n+3}$ whose general fiber is a complete intersection representing the product, and whose special fiber is a generically reduced union of boundary strata. Our construction is built up inductively as a sequence of one-parameter degenerations, using an explicit parametrized collection of hyperplane sections. Combinatorially, our construction expresses each product as a positive, multiplicity-free sum of classes of boundary strata. These are given by a combinatorial algorithm on trees we call 'slide labeling'. As a corollary, we obtain a combinatorial formula for the $κ$ classes in terms of boundary strata.
For degree-$n$ products of $ω$ classes, the special fiber is a finite reduced union of (boundary) points, and its cardinality is one of the multidegrees of the corresponding embedding $Ω_n: \overline{M}_{0,n+3}\to \mathbb{P}^1\times \cdots \times \mathbb{P}^n$. In the case of the product $ω_1\cdots ω_n$, these points exhibit a connection to permutation pattern avoidance. Finally, we show that in certain cases, a prior interpretation of the multidegrees via tournaments can also be obtained by degenerations.
On a conjecture concerning the shuffle-compatible permutation statistics

The notion of shuffle-compatible permutation statistics was implicit in Stanley's work on P-partitions and was first explicitly studied by Gessel and Zhuang. The aim of this paper is to prove that the triple ${\rm (udr, pk, des)}$ is shuffle-compatible as conjectured by Gessel and Zhuang, where ${\rm udr}$ denotes the number of up-down runs, ${\rm pk}$ denotes the peak number, and ${\rm des}$ denotes the descent number. This is accomplished by establishing an ${\rm (udr, pk, des)}$-preserving bijection in the spirit of Baker-Jarvis and Sagan's bijective proofs of shuffle-compatibility property of permutation statistics. As an application, our bijection also enables us to prove that the pair $({\rm cpk}, {\rm cdes})$ is cyclic shuffle-compatible, where ${\rm cpk}$ denotes the cyclic peak number and ${\rm cdes}$ denotes the cyclic descent number.

We introduce the shuffle of deformed permutahedra (a.k.a. generalized permutahedra), a simple associative operation obtained as the Cartesian product followed by the Minkowski sum with the graphical zonotope of a complete bipartite graph. Besides preserving the class of graphical zonotopes (the shuffle of two graphical zonotopes is the graphical zonotope of the join of the graphs), this operation is particularly relevant when applied to the classical permutahedra and associahedra. First, the shuffle of an $m$-permutahedron with an $n$-associahedron gives the $(m,n)$-multiplihedron, whose face structure is encoded by $m$-painted $n$-trees, generalizing the classical multiplihedron. We show in particular that the graph of the $(m,n)$-multiplihedron is the Hasse diagram of a lattice generalizing the weak order on permutations and the Tamari lattice on binary trees. Second, the shuffle of an $m$-associahedron with an $n$-associahedron gives the $(m,n)$-constrainahedron, whose face structure is encoded by $(m,n)$-cotrees, and reflects collisions of particles constrained on a grid. Third, the shuffle of an $m$-anti-associahedron with an $n$-associahedron gives the $(m,n)$-biassociahedron, whose face structure is encoded by $(m,n)$-bitrees, with relevant connections to bialgebras up to homotopy. We provide explicit vertex, facet, and Minkowski sum descriptions of these polytopes, as well as summation formulas for their $f$-polynomials based on generating functionology of decorated trees.

A supersequence over a finite set is a sequence that contains as subsequence all permutations of the set. This paper defines an infinite array of methods to create supersequences of decreasing lengths. This yields the shortest known supersequences over larger sets. It also provides the best results asymptotically. It is based on a general proof using a new property called strong completeness. The same technique also can be used to prove existing supersequences which combines the old and new ones into an unified conceptual framework.

A graphical regular representation (GRR) of a group $G$ is a Cayley graph of $G$ whose full automorphism group is equal to the right regular permutation representation of $G$. Towards a proof of the conjecture that only finitely many finite simple groups have no cubic GRR, this paper shows that $\mathrm{PSU}_3(q)$ has a cubic GRR if and only if $q\geq4$. Moreover, a cubic GRR of $\mathrm{PSU}_3(q)$ is constructed for each of these $q$.
On the interaction of the Coxeter transformation and the rowmotion bijection

Let $P$ be a finite poset and $L$ the associated distributive lattice of order ideals of $P$. Let $ρ$ denote the rowmotion bijection of the order ideals of $P$ viewed as a permutation matrix and $C$ the Coxeter matrix for the incidence algebra $kL$ of $L$. Then we show the identity $(ρ^{-1} C)^2=id$, as was originally conjectured by Sam Hopkins. Recently it was noted that the rowmotion bijection is a special case of the much more general grade bijection $R$ that exists for any Auslander regular algebra. This motivates to study the interaction of the grade bijection and the Coxeter matrix for general Auslander regular algebras. For the class of higher Auslander algebras coming from $n$-representation finite algebras we show that $(R^{-1} C)^2=id$ if $n$ is even and $(R^{-1}C+id)^2=0$ when $n$ is odd.
Conditional Probability of Derangements and Fixed Points
The probability that a random permutation in $S_n$ is a derangement is well known to be $\displaystyle\sum\limits_{j=0}^n (-1)^j \frac{1}{j!}$. In this paper, we consider the conditional probability that the $(k+1)^{st}$ point is fixed, given there are no fixed points in the first $k$ points. We prove that when $n \neq 3$ and $k \neq 1$, this probability is a decreasing function of both $k$ and $n$. Furthermore, it is proved that this conditional probability is well approximated by $\frac{1}{n} - \frac{k}{n^2(n-1)}$. Similar results are also obtained about the more general conditional probability that the $(k+1)^{st}$ point is fixed, given that there are exactly $d$ fixed points in the first $k$ points.

Cauchy's determinant formula (1841) involving $\det ((1-u_i v_j)^{-1})$ is a fundamental result in symmetric function theory. It has been extended in several directions, including a determinantal extension by Frobenius [J. reine angew. Math. 1882] involving a sum of two geometric series in $u_i v_j$. This theme also resurfaced in a matrix analysis setting in a paper by Horn [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 1969] - where the computations are attributed to Loewner - and in recent works by Belton-Guillot-Khare-Putinar [Adv. Math. 2016] and Khare-Tao [Amer. J. Math. 2021]. These formulas were recently unified and extended in [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 2022] to arbitrary power series, with commuting/bosonic variables $u_i, v_j$.
In this note we formulate analogous permanent identities, and in fact, explain how all of these results are a special case of a more general identity, for any character - in fact, any complex class function - of any finite group that acts on the bosonic variables $u_i$ and on the $v_j$ via signed permutations. (We explain why larger linear groups do not work, via a - perhaps novel - "symmetric function" characterization of signed permutation matrices that holds over any integral domain.) We then provide fermionic analogues of these formulas, as well as of the closely related Cauchy product identities.
Two Approaches For a Perturbative Expansion in Blobbed Topological Recursion
In this paper we continue the perturbative analysis of the quartic Kontsevich model. We investigate meromorphic functions $Ω^{(0)}_m$ with $m=1,2$, that obey blobbed topological recursion. We calculate their expansions and check their equivalence to sums of ribbon graph weights, which are obtained with common methods of perturbation theory in QFT, up to fifth order in the coupling using Mathematica.
Furthermore, we provide a catalog of permutation pairs $(α,σ)$, which encode all 5660 vacuum ribbon graphs that contribute to the free energy $\mathcal{F}^{(g)}$ with genus $g\geq 0$ up to fifth order and begin to expand upon the used methods to also consider ribbon graphs of general correlation functions $G_{\dots}$. This is a first step towards automation of the calculation of ribbon graph expansions in the quartic Kontsevich model.
Partial Domination in Prisms of Graphs
For any graph G = (V, E) and proportion $p\in(0,1]$, a set $S\subseteq V$ is a p-dominating set if $\frac{|N[S]|}{|V|}\geq p$. The $p$-domination number $γ_{p}(G)$ equals the minimum cardinality of a $p$-dominating set in G. For a permutation $π$ of the vertex set of G, the graph $π$G is obtained from two disjoint copies $G_1$ and $G_2$ of $G$ by joining each v in $G_1$ to $π(v)$ in $G_2$. i.e., $V(πG)= V(G_1)\cup V(G_2) \text{ and } E(G)= E(G_1)\cup E(G_2)\cup \{\{v,π(v)\}: v\in V(G_1), π(v)\in V(G_2)\}$. The graph $πG$ is called the prism of $G$ with respect to $π$. In this paper, we find some relations between the domination and the $p$-domination numbers in the context of graph and its prism graph for particular values of $p$.
On f-Derangements and Decomposing Bipartite Graphs into Paths

Let $f: \{1, ..., n\} \rightarrow \{1, ..., n\}$ be a function (not necessarily one-to-one). An $f-derangement$ is a permutation $ g:\{1,...,n\} \rightarrow \{1,...,n\}$ such that $g(i) \neq f(i)$ for each $ i = 1, ..., n$. When $f$ is itself a permutation, this is a standard derangement. We examine properties of f-derangements, and show that when we fix the maximum number of preimages for any item under $f$, the fraction of permutations that are f-derangements tends to $ 1/e$ for large $n$, regardless of the choice of $f$. We then use this result to analyze a heuristic method to decompose bipartite graphs into paths of length 5
A note on the paper arXiv:2112.14547
We give historical remarks related to arXiv:2112.14547 ("A New Method of Construction of Permutation Trinomials with Coefficients 1", by Guo et al.). In particular, we show that the "new" permutation polynomials in that paper are actually well known. In addition we give a simpler derivation of these permutation polynomials than had been given previously, which demonstrates the general method of producing permutation polynomials that was introduced in arXiv:1310.0776.
On the $P_3$-hull number and infecting times of generalized Petersen graphs
The $P_3$-hull number of a graph is the minimum cardinality of an infecting set of vertices that will eventually infect the entire graph under the rule that uninfected nodes become infected if two or more neighbors are infected. In this paper, we study the $P_3$-hull number for generalized Petersen graphs and a number of closely related graphs that arise from surgery or more generalized permutations. In addition, the number of components of the complement of an infecting set of minimum cardinality is calculated for the generalized Petersen graph and shown to always be $1$ or $2$. Moreover, infecting times for infecting sets of minimum cardinality are studied. Bounds are provided and complete information is given in special cases.

Inversion sequences of length $n$ are integer sequences $e_1,\ldots ,e_n$ with $0\le e_i<i$ for all $i$, which are in bijection with the permutations of length $n$. In this paper, we classify all Wilf equivalence classes of pattern-avoiding inversion sequences of length-4 patterns except for one case (whether 3012 $\equiv$ 3201) and enumerate some of the length-4 pattern-avoiding inversion sequences that are in the OEIS.

Let $X_N$ be a $N \times N$ real Wishart random matrix with aspect ratio $M/N$. The limit eigenvalue distribution of $X_N$ is the Marchenko-Pastur law with parameter $c = \lim_N M/N$. The limit moments $\{m_n\}_n$ are given by $m_n = \sum_π c^{\#(π)}$ where the sum runs over $NC(n)$. Let $m_n'$ be the limit of $N( \mathrm{E}(\mathrm {tr}(X_N^n)) - m_n)$. These are the asymptotic infinitesimal moments of a real Wishart matrix. We show that $m'_n$ can be written as a sum over planar diagrams with two terms, $\sum_π c'(\#(π) -1) c^{\#(π)-1}$, and $\sum_{π\in S_{NC}^δ(n,-n)} c^{\#(π)/2}$, where $S_{NC}^δ(n,-n)$ is a set of non-crossing annular permutations satisfying a symmetry condition. Moreover we present a recursion formula for the second term which is related to one for higher order freeness.

Permutation polynomials over finite fields are an interesting and constantly active research subject of study for many years. They have important applications in areas of mathematics and engineering. In recent years, permutation binomials and permutation trinomials attract people's interests due to their simple algebraic forms. In this paper, by reversely using Tu's method for the characterization of permutation polynomials with exponents of Niho type, we propose a new method to construct permutation trinomials with coefficients 1. Moreover, we give the explicit compositional inverses of a class of permutation trinomials for a special case.
Approximately Symmetric Forms Far From Being Exactly Symmetric
Let $V$ be a finite-dimensional vector space over $\mathbb{F}_p$. We say that a multilinear form $α\colon V^k \to \mathbb{F}_p$ in $k$ variables is $d$-approximately symmetric if the partition rank of difference $α(x_1, \dots, x_k) - α(x_{π(1)}, \dots, x_{π(k)})$ is at most $d$ for every permutation $π\in \operatorname{Sym}_k$. In a work concerning the inverse theorem for the Gowers uniformity $\|\cdot\|_{\mathsf{U}^4}$ norm in the case of low characteristic, Tidor conjectured that any $d$-approximately symmetric multilinear form $α\colon V^k \to \mathbb{F}_p$ differs from a symmetric multilinear form by a multilinear form of partition rank at most $O_{p,k,d}(1)$ and proved this conjecture in the case of trilinear forms. In this paper, somewhat surprisingly, we show that this conjecture is false. In fact, we show that approximately symmetric forms can be quite far from the symmetric ones, by constructing a multilinear form $α\colon \mathbb{F}_2^n \times \mathbb{F}_2^n \times \mathbb{F}_2^n \times \mathbb{F}_2^n \to \mathbb{F}_2$ which is 3-approximately symmetric, while the difference between $α$ and any symmetric multilinear form is of partition rank at least $Ω(\sqrt[3]{n})$.

We study the representation theory of the uniform block permutation algebra in the context of the representation theory of factorizable inverse monoids. The uniform block permutation algebra is a subalgebra of the partition algebra and is also known as the party algebra. We compute its characters and provide a Frobenius characteristic map to symmetric functions. This reveals connections of the characters of the uniform block permutation algebra and plethysms of Schur functions.
