We consider the classical problem of determining the largest possible cardinality of a minimal presentation of a numerical monoid with given embedding dimension and multiplicity. Very few values of this cardinality are known. In addressing this problem, we apply tools from Hilbert functions and free resolutions of artinian standard graded algebras. This approach allows us to solve the problem in many cases and, at the same time, identify subtle difficulties in the remaining cases. As a by-product of our analysis, we deduce results for the corresponding problem for the type of a numerical monoid.

Let $K$ be a field, $I\subset R=K[x_1,\dots,x_n]$ and $J\subset T=K[y_1,\dots,y_m]$ be graded ideals. Set $S=R\otimes_KT$ and let $L=IS+JS$. The behaviour of the $\text{v}$-function $\text{v}(L^k)$ in terms of the $\text{v}$-functions $\text{v}(I^k)$ and $\text{v}(J^k)$ is investigated. When $I$ and $J$ are monomial ideals, we describe $\text{v}(L^k)$, giving an explicit formula involving $\text{v}(I^k)$ and $\text{v}(J^k)$.
The Defective Parking Space and Defective Kreweras Numbers

A defective $(m,n)$-parking function with defect $d$ is a parking function with $m$ cars attempting to park on a street with $n$ parking spots in which exactly $d$ cars fail to park. We establish a way to compute the defect of a defective $(m,n)$-parking function and show that the defect of a parking function is invariant under the action of $\mathfrak{S}_m$, the symmetric group on $[m]=\{1,2,\ldots,m\}$. We introduce the defective parking space ${\sf DPark}_{m,n}$ spanned by defective parking functions and describe its Frobenius characteristic as an $\mathfrak{S}_m$ representation graded by defect via coefficients $\mathrm{Krew}_{d,n}(λ)$ called defective Kreweras numbers. We provide a conjectured formula for $\mathrm{Krew}_{d,n}(λ)$ for sufficiently large $n$. We also show that the set of nondecreasing defective $(m,n)$-parking functions with defect $d$ are in bijection with the set of standard Young tableaux of shape $(n + d, m - d)$. This implies that the number of $\mathfrak{S}_m$-orbits of defective $(m,n)$-parking functions with defect $d$ is given by $\frac{n-m+2d+1}{n+d+1}\binom{m+n}{n+d}$. We also give a multinomial formula for the size of an $\mathfrak{S}_m$-orbit of a nondecreasing $(m,n)$-parking function with defect $d$. We conclude by using these results to give a new formula for the number of defective parking functions.
Oriented Ramsey numbers of graded digraphs
We show that any graded digraph $D$ on $n$ vertices with maximum degree $Δ$ has an oriented Ramsey number of at most $C^Δn$ for some absolute constant $C > 1$, improving upon a recent result of Fox, He, and Wigderson. In particular, this implies that oriented grids in any fixed dimension have linear oriented Ramsey numbers, and gives a polynomial bound on the oriented Ramsey number of the hypercube.
We also show that this result is essentially best possible, in that there exist graded digraphs on $n$ vertices with maximum degree $Δ$ such that their oriented Ramsey number is at least $c^Δn$ for some absolute constant $c > 1$.
Murnaghan-Type Representations for the Positive Elliptic Hall Algebra
We construct a new family of graded representations $\widetilde{W}_λ$ for the positive elliptic Hall algebra $\mathcal{E}^{+}$ indexed by Young diagrams $λ$ which generalize the standard $\mathcal{E}^{+}$ action on symmetric functions. These representations have homogeneous bases of eigenvectors for the action of the Macdonald element $P_{0,1} \in \mathcal{E}^{+}$ with distinct $\mathbb{Q}(q,t)$-rational spectrum generalizing the symmetric Macdonald functions. The analysis of the structure of these representations exhibits interesting combinatorics arising from the stable limits of periodic standard Young tableaux. We find an explicit combinatorial rule for the action of the multiplication operators $e_r[X]^{\bullet}$ generalizing the Pieri rule for symmetric Macdonald functions. We will also naturally obtain a family of interesting $(q,t)$ product-series identities which come from keeping track of certain combinatorial statistics associated to periodic standard Young tableaux.

Supersolvable hyperplane arrangements and matroids are known to give rise to certain Koszul algebras, namely their Orlik-Solomon algebras and graded Varchenko-Gel'fand algebras. We explore how this interacts with group actions, particularly for the braid arrangement and the action of the symmetric group, where the Hilbert functions of the algebras and their Koszul duals are given by Stirling numbers of the first and second kinds, respectively. The corresponding symmetric group representations exhibit branching rules that interpret Stirling number recurrences, which are shown to apply to all supersolvable arrangements. They also enjoy representation stability properties that follow from Koszul duality.

We propose a combinatorial formula for the coproduct in a Hopf algebra of decorated multi-indices that recently appeared in the literature, which can be briefly described as the graded dual of the enveloping algebra of the free Novikov algebra generated by the set of decorations. Similarly to what happens for the Hopf algebra of rooted forests, the formula can be written in terms of admissible cuts. We also prove a combinatorial formula for the extraction-contraction coproduct for undecorated multi-indices, in terms of a suitable notion of covering subforest.

In this paper, we mainly study two notions of pattern avoidance in parking functions. First, for any collection of length 3 patterns, we compute the number of parking functions of size $n$ that avoid them under the first notion. This is motivated by the recent work of Adeniran and Pudwell, who obtained analogous results using a second notion of pattern avoidance. Then, we provide new purely bijective proofs for two of their results, and improve the formula of another one. Finally, we apply similar enumeration techniques to the work of Novelli and Thibon on certain Hopf algebras of generalised parking functions, and compute their graded dimensions.
The intersection cohomology Hodge module of toric varieties
We study the Hodge filtration of the intersection cohomology Hodge module for toric varieties. More precisely, we study the cohomology sheaves of the graded de Rham complex of the intersection cohomology Hodge module and give a precise formula relating it with the stalks of the intersection cohomology as a constructible complex. The main idea is to use the Ishida complex in order to compute the higher direct images of the sheaf of reflexive differentials.
Some geometric consequences of the symmetric reduction
In this article, we derived some consequences to the symmetrization process developed in \cite{Deng23}. This consists a geometric derivation of part of the properties which uniquely determines the Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials of type $A_n$ as well as an interpretations of the last property by the decomposition theorem of \cite{BBD}. Finally, the relation of geometry of graded nilpotent classes to Parabolic Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials is discussed for the purpose of later applications to Zelevinsky's derivatives.

In this paper, we study the asymptotic behaviour of the v-number of a Noetherian graded filtration $\mathcal{I}= \{I_{[k]}\}_{k\geq 0}$ of a Noetherian $\mathbb{N}$-graded domain $R$. Recently, it is shown that $\mathrm{v}(I_{[k]})$ is periodically linear in $k$ for $k \gg 0$. We show that all these linear functions have the same slope, i.e. $\displaystyle \lim_{k \rightarrow \infty}\frac{\mathrm{v}(I_{[k]})}{k}$ exists, which is equal to $\displaystyle \lim_{k \rightarrow \infty}\frac{α(I_{[k]})}{k}$, where $α(I)$ denotes the minimum degree of a non-zero element in $I$. In particular, for any Noetherian symbolic filtration $\mathcal{I}= \{I^{(k)}\}_{k\geq 0}$ of $R$, it follows that $\displaystyle \lim_{k \rightarrow \infty}\frac{\mathrm{v}(I^{(k)})}{k}=\hatα(I)$, the Waldschmidt constant of $I$. Next, for a non-equigenerated square-free monomial ideal $I$, we prove that $\mathrm{v}(I^{(k)}) \leq \mathrm{reg}(R/I^{(k)})$ for $k\gg 0$. Also, for an ideal $I$ having the symbolic strong persistence property, we give a linear upper bound on $\mathrm{v}(I^{(k)})$. As an application, we derive some criteria for a square-free monomial ideal $I$ to satisfy $\mathrm{v}(I^{(k)})\leq \mathrm{reg}(R/I^{(k)})$ for all $k\geq 1$, and provide several examples in support. In addition, for any simple graph $G$, we establish that $\mathrm{v}(J(G)^{(k)}) \leq \mathrm{reg}(R/J(G)^{(k)})$ for all $k \geq 1$, and $\mathrm{v}(J(G)^{(k)}) = \mathrm{reg}(R/J(G)^{(k)})=α(J(G)^{(k)})-1$ for all $k\geq 1$ if and only if $G$ is a Cohen-Macaulay very-well covered graph, where $J(G)$ is the cover ideal of $G$.

We develop a general homological approach to presentations of connected graded associative algebras, and apply it to the loop homology of moment-angle complexes $Z_K$ that correspond to flag simplicial complexes $K$. For arbitrary coefficient ring, we describe generators of the Pontryagin algebra $H_*(ΩZ_K)$ and defining relations between them. We prove that such moment-angle complexes are coformal over $\mathbb{Q},$ give a necessary condition for rational formality, and compute their homotopy groups in terms of homotopy groups of spheres.
A descent basis for the Garsia-Procesi module

We assign to each Young diagram $λ$ a subset $\mathcal{B}_{λ'}$ of the collection of Garsia-Stanton descent monomials, and prove that it determines a basis of the Garsia-Procesi module $R_λ$, whose graded character is the Hall-Littlewood polynomial $\tilde{H}_λ[X;t]$. This basis is a major index analogue of the basis $\mathcal{B}_λ\subset R_λ$ defined by certain recursions in due to Garsia and Procesi, in the same way that the descent basis is related to the Artin basis of the coinvariant algebra $R_n$, which in fact corresponds to the case when $λ=1^n$. By anti-symmetrizing a subset of this basis with respect to the corresponding Young subgroup under the Springer action, we obtain a basis in the parabolic case, as well as a corresponding formula for the expansion of $\tilde{H}_λ[X;t]$. Despite a similar appearance, it does not appear obvious how to connect these formulas appear to the specialization of the modified Macdonald formula of Haglund, Haiman and Loehr at $q=0$.
Asymptotic behaviour of integer programming and the $\text{v}$-function of a graded filtration

The $\text{v}$-function of a graded filtration $\mathcal{I}=\{I_{[k]}\}_{k\ge0}$ is introduced. Under the assumption that $\mathcal{I}$ is Noetherian, we prove that the $\text{v}$-function $\text{v}(I_{[k]})$ is an eventually quasi-linear function. This result applies to several situations, including ordinary powers, and integral closures of ordinary powers, among others. As another application, we investigate the asymptotic behaviour of certain integer programming problems. Finally, we present the \textit{Macaulay2} package $\texttt{VNumber}$.
A generalization of quantum Lakshmibai-Seshadri paths for arbitrary weights

We construct an injective weight-preserving map (called the forgetful map) from the set of all admissible subsets in the quantum alcove model associated to an arbitrary weight. The image of this forgetful map can be explicitly described by introducing the notion of "interpolated quantum Lakshmibai-Seshadri (QLS for short) paths", which can be thought of as a generalization of quantum Lakshmibai-Seshadri paths. As an application, we reformulate, in terms of interpolated QLS paths, an identity of Chevalley type for the graded characters of Demazure submodules of a level-zero extremal weight module over a quantum affine algebra, which is a representation-theoretic analog of the Chevalley formula for the torus-equivariant $K$-group of a semi-infinite flag manifold.

The HOMFLY polynomial of the $(m,n)$ torus knot $T_{m,n}$ can be extracted from the doubly graded character of the finite-dimensional representation $\mathrm{L}_{\frac{m}{n}}$ of the type $A_{n-1}$ rational Cherednik algebra as observed by Gorsky, Oblomkov, Rasmussen and Shende. It is furthermore conjectured that one can obtain the triply-graded Khovanov-Rozansky homology of $T_{m,n}$ by considering a certain filtration on $\mathrm{L}_{\frac{m}{n}}$. In this paper, we show that two of the proposed candidates, the algebraic filtration and the inductive filtration, are equal.
Stable Graded Multiplicities for Harmonics on a Cyclic Quiver

We consider Vinberg $θ$-groups associated to a cyclic quiver on $k$ nodes. Let $K$ be the product of the general linear groups associated to each node. Then $K$ acts naturally on $\oplus \text{Hom}(V_i, V_{i+1})$ and by Vinberg's theory the polynomials are free over the invariants. We therefore consider the harmonics as a representation of $K$, and give a combinatorial formula for the stable graded multiplicity of each $K$-type. A key lemma provides a combinatorial separation of variables that allows us to cancel the invariants and obtain generalized exponents for the harmonics.
Perfect stable regularity lemma and slice-wise stable hypergraphs
We investigate various forms of (model-theoretic) stability for hypergraphs and their corresponding strengthenings of the hypergraph regularity lemma with respect to partitions of vertices. On the one hand, we provide a complete classification of the various possibilities in the ternary case. On the other hand, we provide an example of a family of slice-wise stable 3-hypergraphs so that for no partition of the vertices, any triple of parts has density close to 0 or 1. In particular, this addresses some questions and conjectures of Terry and Wolf. We work in the general measure theoretic context of graded probability spaces, so all our results apply both to measures in ultraproducts of finite graphs, leading to the aforementioned combinatorial applications, and to commuting definable Keisler measures, leading to applications in model theory.

In the present paper, we study the Dao numbers $\mathfrak{d}_1(I),\mathfrak{d}_2(I)$ and $\mathfrak{d}_3(I)$ of an ideal $I$ of a Noetherian local ring $(R,\mathfrak{m},K)$ or a standard graded Noetherian $K$-algebra. They are defined as the smallest $\ell\ge0$ such that $I\mathfrak{m}^k$ is $\mathfrak{m}$-full, full, weakly $\mathfrak{m}$-full, respectively, for all $k\ge\ell$. We provide general bounds for the Dao numbers in terms of the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of certain modules over the Rees algebra $\mathcal{R}(\mathfrak{m})$. If $R$ is a Koszul algebra, we prove that the Dao numbers are less or equal to $\text{reg}_{\text{gr}_\mathfrak{m}(R)}\text{gr}_\mathfrak{m}(I)$, where $\text{gr}_\mathfrak{m}(I)$ is the associated graded module of $I$. Finally, for monomial ideals, we combinatorially bound the Dao numbers in terms of asymptotic linear quotients and bounding multidegrees.
Networks bijective to permutations
We study the set of networks, which consist of sources, sinks and neutral points, bijective to the permutations. The set of directed edges, which characterizes a network, is constructed from a polyomino or a Rothe diagram of a permutation through a Dyck tiling on a ribbon. We introduce a new combinatorial object similar to a tree-like tableau, which we call a forest. A forest is shown to give a permutation, and be bijective to a network corresponding to the inverse of the permutation. We show that the poset of networks is a finite graded lattice and admits an $EL$-labeling. By use of this $EL$-labeling, we show the lattice is supersolvable and compute the Möbius function of an interval of the poset.
