The XX0 Heisenberg model on a cyclic chain is considered. The representation of the Bethe wave functions via the Schur functions allows to apply the well-developed theory of the symmetric functions to the calculation of the thermal correlation functions. The determinantal expressions of the form-factors and of the thermal correlation functions are obtained. The q-binomial determinants enable the connection of the form-factors with the generating functions both of boxed plane partitions and of self-avoiding lattice paths. The asymptotical behavior of the thermal correlation functions is studied in the limit of low temperature provided that the characteristic parameters of the system are large enough.
Proof of two divisibility properties of binomial coefficients conjectured by Z.-W. Sun

For all positive integers n, we prove the following divisibility properties: $$(2n+3){2n\choose n} | 3{6n\choose 3n}{3n\choose n}, and (10n+3){3n\choose n} | 21{15n\choose 5n} {5n\choose n}.$$ This confirms two recent conjectures of Z.-W. Sun. Some similar divisibility properties are given. Moreover, we show that, for all positive integers m and n, the product $am{am+bm-1\choose am}{an+bn\choose an}$ is divisible by m+n. In fact, the latter result can be generalized to the q-binomial coefficients and q-integers case, which generalizes the positivity of q-Catalan numbers. We also propose several related conjectures.

A recent nice result due to I. Pak and G. Panova is the strict unimodality of the $q$-binomial coefficients $\binom{a+b}{b}_q$ (see \cite{PP} and also \cite{PP2} for a slightly revised version of their theorem). Since their proof used representation theory and Kronecker coefficients, the authors also asked for an argument that would employ Zeilberger's KOH theorem. In this note, we give such a proof. Then, as a further application of our method, we also provide a short proof of their conjecture that the difference between consecutive coefficients of $\binom{a+b}{b}_q$ can get arbitrarily large, when we assume that $b$ is fixed and $a$ is large enough.
Generalized Fibonacci polynomials and Fibonomial coefficients

The focus of this paper is the study of generalized Fibonacci polynomials and Fibonomial coefficients. The former are polynomials {n} in variables s and t given by {0} = 0, {1} = 1, and {n} = s{n-1}+t{n-2} for n ge 2. The latter are defined by {n choose k} = {n}!/({k}!{n-k}!) where {n}! = {1}{2}...{n}. These quotients are also polynomials in s and t, and specializations give the ordinary binomial coefficients, the Fibonomial coefficients, and the q-binomial coefficients. We present some of their fundamental properties, including a more general recursion for {n}, an analogue of the binomial theorem, a new proof of the Euler-Cassini identity in this setting with applications to estimation of tails of series, and valuations when s and t take on integral values. We also study a corresponding analogue of the Catalan numbers. Conjectures and open problems are scattered throughout the paper.

We prove strict unimodality of the q-binomial coefficients \binom{n}{k}_q as polynomials in q. The proof is based on the combinatorics of certain Young tableaux and the semigroup property of Kronecker coefficients of S_n representations.
A refinement of the Shuffle Conjecture with cars of two sizes and $t=1/q$

The original Shuffle Conjecture of Haglund et al. has a symmetric function side and a combinatorial side. The symmetric function side may be simply expressed as $<\nabla e_n, h_μ>$ where \nabla is the Macdonald polynomial eigen-operator of Bergeron and Garsia and $h_μ$ is the homogeneous basis indexed by $μ=(μ_1,μ_2,...,μ_k)$ partitions of n. The combinatorial side q,t-enumerates a family of Parking Functions whose reading word is a shuffle of k successive segments of 1,2,3,...,n of respective lengths $μ_1,μ_2,...,μ_k$. It can be shown that for t=1/q the symmetric function side reduces to a product of q-binomial coefficients and powers of q. This reduction suggests a surprising combinatorial refinement of the general Shuffle Conjecture. Here we prove this refinement for k=2 and t=1/q. The resulting formula gives a q-analogue of the well studied Narayana numbers.

We present new proofs and generalizations of unimodality of the q-binomial coefficients \binom{n}{k}_q as polynomials in q. We use an algebraic approach by interpreting the differences between numbers of certain partitions as Kronecker coefficients of representations of S_n. Other applications of this approach include strict unimodality of the diagonal q-binomial coefficients and unimodality of certain partition statistics.

We first prove that if $a$ has a prime factor not dividing $b$ then there are infinitely many positive integers $n$ such that $\binom {an+bn} {an}$ is not divisible by $bn+1$. This confirms a recent conjecture of Z.-W. Sun. Moreover, we provide some new divisibility properties of binomial coefficients: for example, we prove that $\binom {12n} {3n}$ and $\binom {12n} {4n}$ are divisible by $6n-1$, and that $\binom {330n} {88n}$ is divisible by $66n-1$, for all positive integers $n$. As we show, the latter results are in fact consequences of divisibility and positivity results for quotients of $q$-binomial coefficients by $q$-integers, generalizing the positivity of $q$-Catalan numbers. We also put forward several related conjectures.
D-analogues of q-shifted factorial and the q-Kummer sum
Recently, the concept of a D-analogue was introduced by the author. This is a Dirichlet series analogue for the already known and well researched hypergeometric q-series. we consider the D-analogues of the q-binomial coefficients, and a D-analogue of the q-Kummer (Bailey-Daum) sum.

In a recent paper Konvalinka and Lauve proved several skew Pieri rules for Hall-Littlewood polynomials. In this note we show that q-analogues of these rules are encoded in a q-binomial theorem for Macdonald polynomials due to Lascoux and the author.
Non-Commutative Q-Binomial Formula
In this paper, we found new q-binomial formula for Q-commutative operators. Expansion coefficients in this formula are given by q-binomial coefficients with two bases (q,Q), determined by Q-commutative q-Pascal triangle. Our formula generalizes all well-known binomial formulas in the form of Newton, Gauss, symmetrical, non-commutative and Binet-Fibonacci binomials. By our non-commutative q-binomial, we introduce q-analogue of function of two non-commutative variables, which could be used in study of non-commutative q-analytic functions and non- commutative q-traveling waves.

The q-binomial coefficients are the polynomial cousins of the traditional binomial coefficients, and a number of identities for binomial coefficients can be translated into this polynomial setting. For instance, the familiar vanishing of the alternating sum across row n of Pascal's triangle is captured by the so-called Gaussian Formula. In this paper, we find a q-binomial congruence which synthesizes this result and Fleck's congruence for binomial coefficients.

We produce skew Pieri Rules for Hall--Littlewood functions in the spirit of Assaf and McNamara. The first two were conjectured by the first author. The key ingredients in the proofs are a q-binomial identity for skew partitions and a Hopf algebraic identity that expands products of skew elements in terms of the coproduct and the antipode.
The negative q-binomial
Interpretations for the q-binomial coefficient evaluated at -q are discussed. A (q,t)-version is established, including an instance of a cyclic sieving phenomenon involving unitary spaces.

Fermionic formulas in combinatorial Bethe ansatz consist of sums of products of q-binomial coefficients. There exist refinements without a sum that are known to yield partition functions of box-ball systems with a prescribed soliton content. In this paper, such a refined fermionic formula is extended to the periodic box-ball system and a q-analogue of the Bethe root counting formula for XXZ chain at $Δ=\infty$.

Motivated by recent works of Sun and Tauraso, we prove some variations on the Green-Krammer identity involving central q-binomial coefficients, such as $$ \sum_{k=0}^{n-1}(-1)^kq^{-{k+1\choose 2}}{2k\brack k}_q \equiv (\frac{n}{5}) q^{-\lfloor n^4/5\rfloor} \pmod{Φ_n(q)}, $$ where $\big(\frac{n}{p}\big)$ is the Legendre symbol and $Φ_n(q)$ is the $n$th cyclotomic polynomial. As consequences, we deduce that $$ \sum_{k=0}^{3^a m-1} q^{k}{2k\brack k}_q &\equiv 0 \pmod{(1-q^{3^a})/(1-q)}, \sum_{k=0}^{5^a m-1}(-1)^kq^{-{k+1\choose 2}}{2k\brack k}_q &\equiv 0 \pmod{(1-q^{5^a})/(1-q)}, $$ for $a,m\geq 1$, the first one being a partial q-analogue of the Strauss-Shallit-Zagier congruence modulo powers of 3. Several related conjectures are proposed.

The Knop-Sahi interpolation Macdonald polynomials are inhomogeneous and nonsymmetric generalisations of the well-known Macdonald polynomials. In this paper we apply the interpolation Macdonald polynomials to study a new type of basic hypergeometric series of type g_n. Our main results include a new q-binomial theorem, new q-Gauss sum, and several transformation formulae for g_n series.

A new q-binomial theorem for Macdonald polynomials is employed to prove an A_n analogue of the celebrated Selberg integral. This confirms the g=A_n case of a conjecture by Mukhin and Varchenko concerning the existence of a Selberg integral for every simple Lie algebra g.
