Maximal green sequences are particular sequences of mutations of quivers which were introduced by Keller in the context of quantum dilogarithm identities and independently by Cecotti-Córdova-Vafa in the context of supersymmetric gauge theory. The existence of maximal green sequences for exceptional finite mutation type quivers has been shown by Alim-Cecotti-Córdova-Espahbodi-Rastogi-Vafa except for the quiver $X_7$. In this paper we show that the quiver $X_7$ does not have any maximal green sequences. We also generalize the idea of the proof to give sufficient conditions for the non-existence of maximal green sequences for an arbitrary quiver.

The quiver Hecke algebra $R$ can be also understood as a generalization of the affine Hecke algebra of type $A$ in the context of the quantum affine Schur-Weyl duality by the results of Kang, Kashiwara and Kim. On the other hand, it is well-known that the Auslander-Reiten(AR) quivers $Γ_Q$ of finite simply-laced types have a deep relation with the positive roots systems of the corresponding types. In this paper, we present explicit combinatorial descriptions for the AR-quivers $Γ_Q$ of finite type $A$. Using the combinatorial descriptions, we can investigate relations between finite dimensional module categories over the quantum affine algebra $U'_q(A_n^{(i)})$ $(i=1,2)$ and finite dimensional graded module categories over the quiver Hecke algebra $R_{A_n}$ associated to $A_n$ through the generalized quantum affine Schur-Weyl duality functor.

A quiver mutation loop is a sequence of mutations and vertex relabelings, along which a quiver transforms back to the original form. For a given mutation loop, we introduce a quantity called a partition q-series. The partition q-series are invariant under pentagon moves. If the quivers are of Dynkin type or square products thereof, they reproduce so-called parafermionic or quasi-particle character formulas of certain modules associated with affine Lie algebras. They enjoy nice modular properties as expected from the conformal field theory point of view.

Given a framed quiver, i.e. one with a frozen vertex associated to each mutable vertex, there is a concept of green mutation, as introduced by Keller. Maximal sequences of such mutations, known as maximal green sequences, are important in representation theory and physics as they have numerous applications, including the computations of spectrums of BPS states, Donaldson-Thomas invariants, tilting of hearts in the derived category, and quantum dilogarithm identities. In this paper, we study such sequences and construct a maximal green sequence for every quiver mutation-equivalent to an orientation of a type A Dynkin diagram.
Hom-configurations in triangulated categories generated by spherical objects
Hom- and Riedtmann configurations were studied in the context of stable module categories of selfinjective algebras and a certain orbit category C of the bounded derived category of a Dynkin quiver, which is highly reminiscent of the cluster category. The category C is (-1)-Calabi-Yau. Holm and Jorgensen introduced a family of triangulated categories generated by $w$-spherical objects. When $w \geq 2$, these may be regarded as higher cluster categories of type A infinity. When $w \leq -1$, they are higher analogues of the orbit category C. In this paper, we classify the (higher) Hom- and Riedtmann configurations for these categories, and link them with noncrossing partitions in the case $w = -1$. Along the way, we obtain a new geometric model for the higher versions of the orbit category C.

We present a simple procedure for explicitly constructing a companion basis for a quiver mutation equivalent to a simply-laced Dynkin quiver.
Plots and Their Applications - Part I: Foundations
The primary goal of this paper is to abstract notions, results and constructions from the theory of categories to the broader setting of plots. Loosely speaking, a plot can be thought of as a non-associative non-unital category with a "relaxed" composition law: Besides categories, this includes as a special case graphs and neocategories in the sense of Ehresmann, Gabriel's quivers, Mitchell's semicategories, and composition graphs, precategories and semicategories in the sense of Schröder. Among other things, we formulate an "identity-free" definition of isomorphisms, equivalences, and limits, for which we introduce regular representations, punctors, $\mathcal M$-connections, and $\mathcal M$-factorizations. Part of the material will be used in subsequent work to lay the foundation for an abstract theory of "normed structures" serving as a unifying framework for the development of fundamental aspects of the theory of normed spaces, normed groups, etc., on the one hand, and measure spaces, perhaps surprisingly, on the other.
Three dimensional Seiberg-like duality and tropical cluster algebra
Seiberg-like duality of three dimensional N=2 Chern-Simons-Matter quiver gauge theory is shown to have a chiral double tropical cluster algebra structure. We use cluster algebra results to study combinatorial aspects of these theories such as classification, supersymmetry breaking, etc.
Every finite acyclic quiver is a full subquiver of a quiver mutation equivalent to a bipartite quiver
We give a very short proof of the claim in the title.

In the case of Dynkin quivers we establish a formula for the Grothendieck class of a quiver cycle as the iterated residue of a certain rational function, for which we provide an explicit combinatorial construction. Moreover, we utilize a new definition of the double stable Grothendieck polynomials due to Rimanyi and Szenes in terms of iterated residues to exhibit how the computation of quiver coefficients can be reduced to computing coefficients in Laurent expansions of certain rational functions.
Cyclotomic quiver Hecke algebras of type A

This chapter is based on a series of lectures that I gave at the National University of Singapore in April 2013. The notes survey the representation theory of the cyclotomic Hecke algebras of type A with an emphasis on understanding the KLR grading and the connections between the "classical" ungraded representation theory and the rapidly emerging graded theory. They are fairly self-contained and they try to give a leisurely introduction to these algebras, with many examples and calculations that don't appear elsewhere. We make extensive use of the interactions between the ungraded and graded representation theory and try to explain what the grading gives us that we didn't have before. Combinatorics and cellular algebra techniques are used throughout, with a few results from geometry and 2-representation theory being quoted from the literature. Highlights include a complete description of the semisimple KLR algebras of type A using just the KLR relations, extensive discussion about graded Specht modules, a proof of the Ariki-Brundan-Kleshchev graded categorification theorem based on the graded branching rules, a cellular algebra approach to adjustment matrices and a (possibly optimistic) conjecture for the graded dimensions of the simple modules.
Dyck tilings and the homogeneous Garnir relations for graded Specht modules

Suppose $λ$ and $μ$ are integer partitions with $λ\supseteqμ$. Kenyon and Wilson have introduced the notion of a cover-inclusive Dyck tiling of the skew Young diagram $λ\setminusμ$, which has applications in the study of double-dimer models. We examine these tilings in more detail, giving various equivalent conditions and then proving a recurrence which we use to show that the entries of the transition matrix between two bases for a certain permutation module for the symmetric group are given by counting cover-inclusive Dyck tilings. We go on to consider the inverse of this matrix, showing that its entries are determined by what we call cover-expansive Dyck tilings. The fact that these two matrices are mutual inverses allows us to recover the main result of Kenyon and Wilson.
We then discuss the connections with recent results of Kim et al, who give, a simple expression for the sum, over all $μ$, of the number of cover-inclusive Dyck tilings of $λ\setminusμ$. Our results provide a new proof of this result. Finally, we show how to use our results to obtain simpler expressions for the homogeneous Garnir relations for the universal Specht modules introduced by Kleshchev, Mathas and Ram for the cyclotomic quiver Hecke algebras.

We study the set S of labelled seeds of a cluster algebra of rank n inside a field F as a homogeneous space for the group M_n of (globally defined) mutations and relabellings. Regular equivalence relations on S are associated to subgroups W of Aut_{M_n}(S), and we thus obtain groupoids W \ S. We show that for two natural choices of equivalence relation, the corresponding groups W^c and W^+ act on F, and the groupoids W^c \ S and W^+ \ S on the model field K=Q(x_1,...,x_n). The groupoid W^+ \ S is equivalent to Fock-Goncharov's cluster modular groupoid. Moreover, W^c is isomorphic to the group of cluster automorphisms, and W^+ to the subgroup of direct cluster automorphisms, in the sense of Assem-Schiffler-Shramchenko. We also prove that, for mutation classes whose seeds have mutation finite quivers, the stabilizer of a labelled seed under M_n determines the quiver of the seed up to 'similarity', meaning up to taking opposites of some of the connected components. Consequently, the subgroup W^c is the entire automorphism group of S in these cases.

We introduce a class of combinatorial singularities of Lagrangian skeleta of symplectic manifolds. The link of each singularity is a finite regular cell complex homotopy equivalent to a bouquet of spheres. It is determined by its face poset which is naturally constructed starting from a tree (nonempty finite acyclic graph). The choice of a root vertex of the tree leads to a natural front projection of the singularity along with an orientation of the edges of the tree. Microlocal sheaves along the singularity, calculated via the front projection, are equivalent to modules over the quiver given by the directed tree.

In this paper, we study tau-tilting modules over Nakayama algebras. We establish bijections between tau-tilting modules, triangulations of a polygon with a puncture and certain integer sequences. Moreover, we give an algorithm to construct the Hasse quiver of support tau-tilting modules by using Rejection Lemma of Drozd-Kirichenko.
Laurent Phenomenon Sequences

In this paper, we undertake a systematic study of recurrences x_{m+n}x_{m} = P(x_{m+1}, ..., x_{m+n-1}) which exhibit the Laurent phenomenon. Some of the most famous among these sequences come from the Somos and the Gale-Robinson recurrences. Our approach is based on finding period 1 seeds of Laurent phenomenon algebras of Lam-Pylyavskyy. We completely classify polynomials P that generate period 1 seeds in the cases of n=2,3 and of mutual binomial seeds. We also find several other interesting families of polynomials P whose generated sequences exhibit the Laurent phenomenon. Our classification for binomial seeds is a direct generalization of a result by Fordy and Marsh, that employs a new combinatorial gadget we call a double quiver.
Aztec Castles and the dP3 Quiver

Bipartite, periodic, planar graphs known as brane tilings can be associated to a large class of quivers. This paper will explore new algebraic properties of the well-studied del Pezzo 3 quiver and geometric properties of its corresponding brane tiling. In particular, a factorization formula for the cluster variables arising from a large class of mutation sequences (called $τ-$mutation sequences) is proven; this factorization also gives a recursion on the cluster variables produced by such sequences. We can realize these sequences as walks in a triangular lattice using a correspondence between the generators of the affine symmetric group $\tilde{A_2}$ and the mutations which generate $τ-$mutation sequences. Using this bijection, we obtain explicit formulae for the cluster that corresponds to a specific alcove in the lattice. With this lattice visualization in mind, we then express each cluster variable produced in a $τ$-mutation sequence as the sum of weighted perfect matchings of a new family of subgraphs of the dP3 brane tiling, which we call Aztec castles. Our main result generalizes previous work on a certain mutation sequence on the dP3 quiver in [Zha12], and forms part of the emerging story in combinatorics and theoretical high energy physics relating cluster variables to subgraphs of the associated brane tiling.

We study graded dimension formulas for finite quiver Hecke algebras $R^{Λ_0}(β)$ of type $A^{(2)}_{2\ell}$ and $D^{(2)}_{\ell+1}$ using combinatorics of Young walls. We introduce the notion of standard tableaux for proper Young walls and show that the standard tableaux form a graded poset with lattice structure. We next investigate Laurent polynomials associated with proper Young walls and their standard tableaux arising from the Fock space representations consisting of proper Young walls. Then we prove the graded dimension formulas described in terms of the Laurent polynomials. When evaluating at $q=1$, the graded dimension formulas recover the dimension formulas for $R^{Λ_0}(β)$ described in terms of standard tableaux of strict partitions.

We describe a closed immersion from each representation space of a type A quiver with bipartite (i.e., alternating) orientation to a certain opposite Schubert cell of a partial flag variety. This "bipartite Zelevinsky map" restricts to an isomorphism from each orbit closure to a Schubert variety intersected with the above-mentioned opposite Schubert cell. For type A quivers of arbitrary orientation, we give the same result up to some factors of general linear groups.
These identifications allow us to recover results of Bobinski and Zwara; namely we see that orbit closures of type A quivers are normal, Cohen-Macaulay, and have rational singularities. We also see that each representation space of a type A quiver admits a Frobenius splitting for which all of its orbit closures are compatibly Frobenius split.
Mixed cobinary trees

We develop basic cluster theory from an elementary point of view using a variation of binary trees which we call mixed cobinary trees. We show that the number of isomorphism classes of such trees is given by the Catalan number Cn where n is the number of internal nodes. We also consider the corresponding quiver Q_ε of type An-1. As a special case of more general known results about the relation between c-vectors, representations of quivers and their semi-invariants, we explain the bijection between mixed cobinary trees and the vertices of the generalized associahedron corresponding to the quiver Q_ε.
