Theta functions and quiver Grassmannians
In this article, we use the relationship between cluster scattering diagrams and stability scattering diagrams to relate quiver representations with these diagrams. With a notion of positive crossing of a path $γ$, we show that if $γ$ has positive crossing in the scattering diagram, then it goes in the opposite direction of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of $Q$. We then give the Hall algebra theta functions which recover the cluster character formula by the Euler characteristic map. At last, we define the Hall algebra broken lines and then are able to give the stratification of the quiver Grassmannians by the bending of the broken lines.

Gröbner bases and the Cohen-Macaulay property of Li's double determinantal varieties
Published in Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. Ser. B 7 (2020), 142--158 • View PublicationBIB
We consider double determinantal varieties, a special case of Nakajima quiver varieties. Li conjectured that double determinantal varieties are normal, irreducible, Cohen-Macaulay varieties whose defining ideals have a Gröbner basis given by their natural generators. We use liaison theory to prove this conjecture in a manner that generalizes results for mixed ladder determinantal varieties. We also give a formula for the dimension of a double determinantal variety.
Associahedra for finite type cluster algebras and minimal relations between $\mathbf{g}$-vectors

We show that the mesh mutations are the minimal relations among the $\boldsymbol{g}$-vectors with respect to any initial seed in any finite type cluster algebra. We then use this algebraic result to derive geometric properties of the $\boldsymbol{g}$-vector fan: we show that the space of all its polytopal realizations is a simplicial cone, and we then observe that this property implies that all its realizations can be described as the intersection of a high dimensional positive orthant with well-chosen affine spaces. This sheds a new light on and extends earlier results of N. Arkani-Hamed, Y. Bai, S. He, and G. Yan in type $A$ and of V. Bazier-Matte, G. Douville, K. Mousavand, H. Thomas and E. Yildirim for acyclic initial seeds. Moreover, we use a similar approach to study the space of polytopal realizations of the $\boldsymbol{g}$-vector fans of another generalization of the associahedron: non-kissing complexes (a.k.a. support $τ$-tilting complexes) of gentle algebras. We show that the space of realizations of the non-kissing fan is simplicial when the gentle bound quiver is brick and $2$-acyclic, and we describe in this case its facet-defining inequalities in terms of mesh mutations. Along the way, we prove algebraic results on $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories, and on extriangulated categories that are of independent interest. In particular, we prove, in those two setups, an analogue of a result of M. Auslander on minimal relations for Grothendieck groups of module categories.

Graded Quivers, Generalized Dimer Models and Toric Geometry
Published • View PublicationBIB
The open string sector of the topological B-model model on CY $(m+2)$-folds is described by $m$-graded quivers with superpotentials. This correspondence extends to general $m$ the well known connection between CY $(m+2)$-folds and gauge theories on the worldvolume of D$(5-2m)$-branes for $m=0,\ldots, 3$. We introduce $m$-dimers, which fully encode the $m$-graded quivers and their superpotentials, in the case in which the CY $(m+2)$-folds are toric. Generalizing the well known $m=1,2$ cases, $m$-dimers significantly simplify the connection between geometry and $m$-graded quivers. A key result of this paper is the generalization of the concept of perfect matching, which plays a central role in this map, to arbitrary $m$. We also introduce a simplified algorithm for the computation of perfect matchings, which generalizes the Kasteleyn matrix approach to any $m$. We illustrate these new tools with a few infinite families of CY singularities.

Exchange graphs for mutation-finite non-integer quivers of rank 3
Skew-symmetric non-integer matrices with real entries can be viewed as quivers with non-integer weights of arrows. One can mutate such quivers according to usual rules of quiver mutation. Felikson and Tumarkin show that rank 3 mutation-finite non-integer quivers admit geometric realisations by partial reflections. This allows to define a notion of seeds (as Y-seeds), and hence, to define the exchange graphs for mutation classes. In this paper we study exchange graphs of mutation-finite quivers in rank 3. The concept of finite and affine type generalises naturally to non-integer quivers. In particular, exchange graphs of finite type quivers are finite, while exchange graphs of affine quivers are finite modulo the action of a finite-dimensional lattice.

Minuscule reverse plane partitions via quiver representations
The Hillman--Grassl correspondence is a well-known bijection between multisets of rim hooks of a partition shape $λ$ and reverse plane partitions of $λ$. We use the tools of quiver representations to generalize Hillman--Grassl in type $A$ and to define an analogue in all minuscule types. This is an extended abstract prepared for FPSAC 2019 based on arXiv:1812.08345, emphasizing its combinatorial aspects.

Asymptotic sign coherence conjecture
Published in Experimental Mathematics 31 (2022) 497-505 • Search Publication
The sign coherence phenomenon is an important feature of c-vectors in cluster algebras with principal coefficients. In this note, we consider a more general version of c-vectors defined for arbitrary cluster algebras of geometric type and formulate a conjecture describing their asymptotic behavior. This conjecture, which is called the asymptotic sign coherence conjecture, states that for any infinite sequence of matrix mutations that satisfies certain natural conditions, the corresponding c-vectors eventually become sign coherent. We prove this conjecture for rank 2 cluster algebras of infinite type and for a particular sequence of mutations in a cluster algebra associated with the Markov quiver.

Hecke algebras of simply-laced type with independent parameters
We study the (complex) Hecke algebra $\mathcal{H}_S(\mathbf{q})$ of a finite simply-laced Coxeter system $(W,S)$ with independent parameters $\mathbf{q} \in \left( \mathbb{C} \setminus\{\text{roots of unity}\} \right)^S$. We construct its irreducible representations and projective indecomposable representations. We obtain the quiver of this algebra and determine when it is of finite representation type. We provide decomposition formulas for induced and restricted representations between the algebra $\mathcal{H}_S(\mathbf{q})$ and the algebra $\mathcal{H}_R(\mathbf{q}|_R)$ with $R\subseteq S$. Our results demonstrate an interesting combination of the representation theory of finite Coxeter groups and their 0-Hecke algebras, including a two-sided duality between the induced and restricted representations.

Dessins d'enfants, Brauer graph algebras and Galois invariants
In this paper, we associate a finite dimensional algebra, called a Brauer graph algebra, to every clean dessin d'enfant by constructing a quiver based on the monodromy of the dessin. We show that Galois conjugate dessins d'enfants give rise to derived equivalent Brauer graph algebras and that the stable Auslander-Reiten quiver and the dimension of the Brauer graph algebra are invariant under the induced action of the absolute Galois group.

Mutation-finite quivers with real weights
We classify all mutation-finite quivers with real weights. We show that every finite mutation class not originating from an integer skew-symmetrizable matrix has a geometric realization by reflections. We also explore the structure of acyclic representatives in finite mutation classes and their relations to acute-angled simplicial domains in the corresponding reflection groups.
Building maximal green sequences via component preserving mutations
Published in Ars Math. Contemp. 19 (2020), no. 2, 249--275 • View PublicationBIB
We introduce a new method for producing both maximal green and reddening sequences of quivers. The method, called component preserving mutations, generalizes the notion of direct sums of quivers and can be used as a tool to both recover known reddening sequences as well as find reddening sequences that were previously unknown. We use the method to produce and recover maximal green sequences for many bipartite recurrent quivers that show up in the study of periodicity of $T$-systems and $Y$-systems. Additionally, we show how our method relates to the dominance phenomenon recently considered by Reading. Given a maximal green sequence produced by our method, this relation to dominance gives a maximal green sequence for infinitely many other quivers. Other applications of this new methodology are explored including computing of quantum dilogarithm identities and determining minimal length maximal green sequences.
Linear degenerations of flag varieties: partial flags, defining equations, and group actions
We continue, generalize and expand our study of linear degenerations of flag varieties from [G. Cerulli Irelli, X. Fang, E. Feigin, G. Fourier, M. Reineke, Math. Z. 287 (2017), no. 1-2, 615-654]. We realize partial flag varieties as quiver Grassmannians for equi-oriented type A quivers and construct linear degenerations by varying the corresponding quiver representation. We prove that there exists the deepest flat degeneration and the deepest flat irreducible degeneration: the former is the partial analogue of the mf-degenerate flag variety and the latter coincides with the partial PBW-degenerate flag variety. We compute the generating function of the number of orbits in the flat irreducible locus and study the natural family of line bundles on the degenerations from the flat irreducible locus. We also describe explicitly the reduced scheme structure on these degenerations and conjecture that similar results hold for the whole flat locus. Finally, we prove an analogue of the Borel-Weil theorem for the flat irreducible locus.

Generalized Minors and Tensor Invariants
Berenstein, Fomin and Zelevinsky defined functions on double Bruhat cells which they called generalized minors. By relating certain double Bruhat cells to configuration spaces of flags, we give formulas for these generalized minors as tensor invariants. This allows us to verify certain weight identities. The weights of the tensor invariants can then be used to construct the quiver for the cluster structure on the configuration space of three flags. We also show a converse statement--that the weights of tensor invariants can by computed from the structure of the quiver. The weight identities are important because they are necessary for the existence of cluster structures on the moduli space of framed local systems.
Beyond topological persistence: Starting from networks
Persistent homology enables fast and computable comparison of topological objects. However, it is naturally limited to the analysis of topological spaces. We extend the theory of persistence, by guaranteeing robustness and computability to significant data types as simple graphs and quivers. We focus on categorical persistence functions that allow us to study in full generality strong kinds of connectedness such as clique communities, $k$-vertex and $k$-edge connectedness directly on simple graphs and monic coherent categories.

Minuscule reverse plane partitions via quiver representations
A nilpotent endomorphism of a quiver representation induces a linear transformation on the vector space at each vertex. Generically among all nilpotent endomorphisms, there is a well-defined Jordan form for these linear transformations, which is an interesting new invariant of a quiver representation. If $Q$ is a Dynkin quiver and $m$ is a minuscule vertex, we show that representations consisting of direct sums of indecomposable representations all including $m$ in their support, the category of which we denote by $\mathcal{C}_{Q,m}$, are determined up to isomorphism by this invariant. We use this invariant to define a bijection from isomorphism classes of representations in $\mathcal{C}_{Q,m}$ to reverse plane partitions whose shape is the minuscule poset corresponding to $Q$ and $m$. By relating the piecewise-linear promotion action on reverse plane partitions to Auslander-Reiten translation in the derived category, we give a uniform proof that the order of promotion equals the Coxeter number. In type $A_n$, we show that special cases of our bijection include the Robinson-Schensted-Knuth and Hillman-Grassl correspondences.

A formula for $F$-Polynomials in terms of $C$-Vectors and Stabilization of $F$-Polynomials
Given a quiver associated to a cluster algebra and a sequence of vertices, iterative mutation leads to $F$-Polynomials which appear in numerous places in the cluster algebraic literature. The coefficients of the monomials in these $F$-Polynomials are difficult to understand and have been an area of study for many years. In this paper, we present a general closed-form formula for these coefficients in terms of elementary manipulations with $C$-matrices. We then demonstrate the effectiveness of the formula by using it to derive simple explicit formulas for $F$-Polynomials of specific classes of quivers and mutation sequences. Work has been done to do these cases in ad-hoc combinatorial ways, but our formula recovers and improves known formulas with a general method. Secondly, we investigate convergence of $F$-polynomials. In themselves, they do not converge, but by changing bases using the $C$-matrix, they conjecturally do. Since our formula relates $C$-matrix entries to coefficients, we are able to apply it to make considerable progress on the conjecture. Specifically, we show stability for green mutation sequences. Finally, we look at exact formulas for these stable deformed $F$-polynomials in instances where they illustrate properties that the $F$-polynomials themselves do not.

$q$-deformed rationals and $q$-continued fractions
Published in Forum of Mathematics, Sigma 8 (2020) e13 • View PublicationBIB
We introduce a notion of $q$-deformed rational numbers and $q$-deformed continued fractions. A $q$-deformed rational is encoded by a triangulation of a polygon and can be computed recursively. The recursive formula is analogous to the $q$-deformed Pascal identitiy for the Gaussian binomial coefficients, but the Pascal triangle is replaced by the Farey graph. The coefficients of the polynomials defining the $q$-rational count quiver subrepresentations of the maximal indecomposable representation of the graph dual to the triangulation. Several other properties, such as total positivity properties, $q$-deformation of the Farey graph, matrix presentations and $q$-continuants are given, as well as a relation to the Jones polynomial of rational knots.

A combinatorial classification of 2-regular simple modules for Nakayama algebras
Published • View PublicationBIB
Enomoto showed for finite dimensional algebras that the classification of exact structures on the category of finitely generated projective modules can be reduced to the classification of 2-regular simple modules. In this article, we give a combinatorial classification of 2-regular simple modules for Nakayama algebras and we use this classification to answer several natural questions such as when there is a unique exact structure on the category of finitely generated projective modules for Nakayama algebras. We also classify 1-regular simple modules, quasi-hereditary Nakayama algebras and Nakayama algebras of global dimension at most two. It turns out that most classes are enumerated by well-known combinatorial sequences, such as Fibonacci, Riordan and Narayana numbers. We first obtain interpretations in terms of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of the algebra using homological algebra, and then apply suitable bijections to relate these to combinatorial statistics on Dyck paths.

A Lattice Isomorphism Theorem for Cluster Groups of Mutation-Dynkin Type $A_{n}$
Published • View PublicationBIB
Each quiver appearing in a seed of a cluster algebra determines a corresponding group, which we call a cluster group, which is defined via a presentation. Grant and Marsh showed that, for quivers appearing in seeds of cluster algebras of finite type, the associated cluster groups are isomorphic to finite reflection groups. As for finite Coxeter groups, we can consider parabolic subgroups of cluster groups. We prove that, in the type $A_{n}$ case, there exists an isomorphism between the lattice of subsets of the defining generators of the cluster group and the lattice of its parabolic subgroups. Moreover, each parabolic subgroup has a presentation given by restricting the presentation of the whole group.
