A note on monotone subsequences and the RS image of invariant random permutations with macroscopic number of fixed points
The work of Vershik and Kerov [1977], Logan and Shepp [1977] established that the shape of the scaled random young diagram in Russian notation, as determined by the Plancherel measure, converges to a deterministic shape. In this article, we focus on the scenario where the number of fixed points is substantial. We provide evidence that, subject to specific requirements on the total number of cycles, the limiting shape is a scaled version of the Vershik-Kerov-Logan-Shepp limiting shape. Additionally, we identify certain limiting regimes that resemble those in Chapuy, Louf, and Walsh [2022]. Furthermore, we enhance the existing results on Tracy-Widom universality classes for $β\in \{ 1, 2, 4\}$ for monotone subsequences.
Posets of width two and skew Young diagrams
Let $P$ be a finite poset of width two, i.e., with no three-element antichain. We associate with $P$ a skew Young diagram $Υ(P)$ and discuss some of the properties of the map $Υ$. In particular, if we regard $Υ(P)$ as a poset in a standard way, then the linear extensions of $P$ are in bijection with the order ideals of $Υ(P)$.

This paper establishes universal formulas describing the global asymptotics of two distinct discrete versions of $β$-ensembles in the high, low and fixed temperature regimes. Our results affirmatively answer a question posed by the second author and Śniady.
We first introduce a special class of Jack measures on Young diagrams of arbitrary size, called the ``Jack--Thoma measures'', and prove the LLN and CLT in the three aforementioned limit regimes. In each case, we provide explicit formulas for polynomial observables of the limit shape and Gaussian fluctuations around the limit shape. These formulas have surprising positivity properties and are expressed as sums of weighted lattice paths. Second, we show that the previous formulas are universal: they also describe the limit shape and Gaussian fluctuations for the model of random Young diagrams of a fixed size derived from Jack characters with the approximate factorization property. Finally, in stark contrast with continuous $β$-ensembles, we show that the limit shapes at high and low temperatures of our random Young diagrams are one-sided infinite staircase shapes. For the Jack--Plancherel measure, we describe this shape explicitly by relating its local minima with the zeroes of Bessel functions.

We define the computational task of detecting projectors in finite dimensional associative algebras with a combinatorial basis, labelled by representation theory data, using combinatorial central elements in the algebra. In the first example, the projectors belong to the centre of a symmetric group algebra and are labelled by Young diagrams with a fixed number of boxes $n$. We describe a quantum algorithm for the task based on quantum phase estimation (QPE) and obtain estimates of the complexity as a function of $n$. We compare to a classical algorithm related to the projector identification problem by the AdS/CFT correspondence. This gives a concrete proof of concept for classical/quantum comparisons of the complexity of a detection task, based in holographic correspondences. A second example involves projectors labelled by triples of Young diagrams, all having $n$ boxes, with non-vanishing Kronecker coefficient. The task takes as input the projector, and consists of identifying the triple of Young diagrams. In both of the above cases the standard QPE complexities are polynomial in $n$. A third example of quantum projector detection involves projectors labelled by a triple of Young diagrams, with $m,n$ and $m+n$ boxes respectively, such that the associated Littlewood-Richardson coefficient is non-zero. The projector detection task is to identify the triple of Young diagrams associated with the projector which is given as input. This is motivated by a two-matrix model, related via the AdS/CFT correspondence, to systems of strings attached to giant gravitons. The QPE complexity in this case is polynomial in $m$ and $n$.

Cominuscule flag varieties generalize Grassmannians to other Lie types. Schubert varieties in cominuscule flag varieties are indexed by posets of roots labeled long/short. These labeled posets generalize Young diagrams. We prove that Schubert varieties in potentially different cominuscule flag varieties are isomorphic as varieties if and only if their corresponding labeled posets are isomorphic, generalizing the classification of Grassmannian Schubert varieties using Young diagrams by the last two authors. Our proof is type-independent.

We elaborate on the recent suggestion to consider averaging of Cauchy identities for the Schur functions over power sum variables. This procedure has apparent parallels with the Borel transform, only it changes the number of combinatorial factors like $d_R$ in the sums over Young diagrams instead of just factorials in ordinary sums over numbers. It provides a universal view on a number of previously known, but seemingly random identities.
Fluctuations of Schensted row insertion
We investigate asymptotic probabilistic phenomena arising from the application of the Schensted row insertion algorithm, a key component of the Robinson-Schensted-Knuth (RSK) correspondence, to random inputs. Our analysis centers on a random tableau $T$ with a given shape $λ$, which may itself be random or deterministic. We examine the stochastic properties of the position of the new box created when inserting a deterministic entry into $T$. Specifically, we focus on the fluctuations of this position around its expected value as the size of the Young diagram $λ$ approaches infinity. Our findings reveal that these fluctuations are asymptotically Gaussian, with the mean and variance expressed in terms of Kerov's transition measure of the diagram $λ$. An important application of this analysis is the RSK algorithm applied to a finite, long sequence of independent, identically distributed random variables. While there remains a gap in the reasoning for this case, we present an explicit conjecture regarding its behavior.

We consider the singular values of certain Young diagram shaped random matrices. For block-shaped random matrices, the empirical distribution of the squares of the singular eigenvalues converges almost surely to a distribution whose moments are a generalisation of the Catalan numbers. The limiting distribution is the density of a product of rescaled independent Beta random variables and its Stieltjes-Cauchy transform has a hypergeometric representation. In special cases we recover the Marchenko-Pastur and Dykema-Haagerup measures of square and triangular random matrices, respectively. We find a further factorisation of the moments in terms of two complex-valued random variables that generalises the factorisation of the Marcenko-Pastur law as product of independent uniform and arcsine random variables.

An almost self-conjugate (ASC) partition has a Young diagram in which each arm along the diagonal is exactly one box longer than its corresponding leg. Classically, the ASC partitions and their conjugates appear in two of Littlewood's symmetric function identities. These identities can be viewed as Euler characteristics of BGG complexes of the trivial representation, for classical Hermitian symmetric pairs. In this paper, we consider partitions in which the arm-leg difference is an arbitrary constant $m$. By viewing these partitions as highest weights, we establish an infinite family of dimension identities between $\mathfrak{gl}_n$- and $\mathfrak{gl}_{n+m}$-modules. We then interpret this result in the context of blocks in parabolic category $\mathcal{O}$: in particular, we exhibit six infinite families of congruent blocks whose corresponding posets of highest weights consist of the partitions in question. These posets, in turn, lead to generalizations of the Littlewood identities and their corresponding BGG complexes. Our results in this paper shed light on the surprising combinatorics underlying the work of Enright and Willenbring (2004).

In this paper, we consider polyhedral realizations for crystal bases $B(λ)$ of irreducible integrable highest weight modules of a quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$, where $\mathfrak{g}$ is a classical affine Lie algebra of type ${\rm A}^{(1)}_{n-1}$, ${\rm C}^{(1)}_{n-1}$, ${\rm A}^{(2)}_{2n-2}$ or ${\rm D}^{(2)}_{n}$. We will give explicit forms of polyhedral realizations in terms of extended Young diagrams or Young walls that appear in the representation theory of quantized enveloping algebras of classical affine type. As an application, a combinatorial description of $\varepsilon_k^*$ functions on $B(\infty)$ will be given.

3D (3 dimensional) Young diagrams are a generalization of 2D Young diagrams. In this paper, We consider 3D Bosons and 3-Jack polynomials. We associate three parameters $h_1,h_2,h_3$ to $y,x,z$-axis respectively. 3-Jack polynomials are polynomials of $P_{n,j},
n\geq j$ with coefficients in $\mathbb C(h_1,h_2,h_3)$, which are the generalization of Schur functions and Jack polynomials to 3D case. Similar to Schur functions, 3-Jack polynomials can also be determined by the vertex operators and the Pieri formulas.
Chess tableaux, powers of two and affine Lie algebras

Chess tableaux are a special kind of standard Young tableaux where, in the chessboard coloring of the Young diagram, even numbers always appear in white cells and odd numbers in black cells. If, for $λ$ a partition of $n$, $\text{Chess}(λ)$ denotes the number of chess tableaux of shape $λ$, then Chow, Eriksson and Fan observed that $\displaystyle\sum_{λ\vdash n} \text{Chess}(λ)^2$ is divisible by unusually large powers of $2$. In this paper, we give an explanation for this phenomenon, proving a lower bound of $n-O(\sqrt{n})$ for the $2$-adic valuation of this sum and a generalization of it. We do this by exploiting a connection with a certain representation of the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}$ on the vector space with basis indexed by partitions. Our result about chess tableaux then follows from a study of the basic representation of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}$ with coefficients taken from the ring of rational numbers with odd denominators.
Restricted Chain-Order Polytopes via Combinatorial Mutations

We study restricted chain-order polytopes associated to Young diagrams using combinatorial mutations. These polytopes are obtained by intersecting chain-order polytopes with certain hyperplanes. The family of chain-order polytopes associated to a poset interpolate between the order and chain polytopes of the poset. Each such polytope retains properties of the order and chain polytope; for example its Ehrhart polynomial. For a fixed Young diagram, we show that all restricted chain-order polytopes are related by a sequence of combinatorial mutations. Since the property of giving rise to the period collapse phenomenon is invariant under combinatorial mutations, we provide a large class of rational polytopes that give rise to period collapse.

In their study of Jack polynomials, Nazarov-Sklyanin introduced a remarkable new graded linear operator ${\mathcal L} \colon F[w] \rightarrow F[w]$ where $F$ is the ring of symmetric functions and $w$ is a variable. In this paper, we (1) establish a cyclic decomposition $F[w] \cong \bigoplus_λ Z(j_λ, {\mathcal L})$ into finite-dimensional ${\mathcal L}$-cyclic subspaces in which Jack polynomials $j_λ$ may be taken as cyclic vectors and (2) prove that the restriction of ${\mathcal L}$ to each $Z(j_λ, {\mathcal L})$ has simple spectrum given by the anisotropic contents $[s]$ of the addable corners $s$ of the Young diagram of $λ$. Our proofs of (1) and (2) rely on the commutativity and spectral theorem for the integrable hierarchy associated to ${\mathcal L}$, both established by Nazarov-Sklyanin. Finally, we conjecture that the ${\mathcal L}$-eigenfunctions $ψ_λ^s {\in F[w]}$ {with eigenvalue $[s]$ and constant term} $ψ_λ^s|_{w=0} = j_λ$ are polynomials in the rescaled power sum basis $V_μ w^l$ of $F[w]$ with integer coefficients.

We study Feynman checkers, an elementary model of electron motion introduced by R. Feynman. In this model, a checker moves on a checkerboard, and we count the turns. Feynman checkers are also known as a one-dimensional quantum walk. We prove some new number-theoretic results in this model, for example, sign alternation of the real and imaginary parts of the electron wave function in a specific area. All our results can be stated in terms of Young diagrams, namely, we compare the number of Young diagrams with an odd and an even number of steps.

Stanley and Féray gave a formula for the irreducible character of the symmetric group related to a multi-rectangular Young diagram. This formula shows that the character is a polynomial in the multi-rectangular coordinates and gives an explicit combinatorial interpretation for its coefficients in terms of counting certain decorated maps (i.e., graphs drawn on surfaces). In the current paper we concentrate on the coefficients of the top-degree monomials in the Stanley character polynomial, which corresponds to counting certain decorated plane trees. We give an explicit bijection between such trees and minimal factorizations of a cycle.

Let $k$ be a field with characteristic zero, $R$ be the ring $k[x_1, \cdots, x_n]$ and $I$ be a monomial ideal of $R$. We study the Artinian local algebra $R/I$ when considered as an $R$-module $M$. We show that the largest reduced submodule of $M$ coincides with both the socle of $M$ and the $k$-submodule of $M$ generated by all outside corner elements of the Young diagram associated with $M$. Interpretations of different reduced modules is given in terms of Macaulay inverse systems. It is further shown that these reduced submodules are examples of modules in a torsion-torsionfree class, together with their duals; coreduced modules, exhibit symmetries in regard to Matlis duality and torsion theories. Lastly, we show that any $R$-module $M$ of the kind described here satisfies the radical formula.
Central Measures of Continuous Graded Graphs:\\ the Case of Distinct Frequencies

We define a class of continuous graded graphs similar to the graph of Gelfand--Tsetlin patterns, and describe the set of all ergodic central measures of discrete type on the path spaces of such graphs. The main observation is that an ergodic central measure on a subgraph of a Pascal-type graph can often be obtained as the restriction of the standard Bernoulli measure to the path space of the subgraph. This observation dramatically changes the approach to finding central measures also on discrete graphs, such as the famous Young graph.
The simplest example of this type is given by the theorem on the weak limits of normalized Lebesgue measures on simplices; these are the so-called Cesàro measures, which are concentrated on the sequences with prescribed Cesàro limits (this limit parametrizes the corresponding measure).
More complicated examples are the graphs of continuous Young diagrams with fixed number of rows and the graphs of spectra of infinite Hermitian matrices of finite rank. We prove existence and uniqueness theorems for ergodic central measures and describe their structure. In particular, our results 1) give a new spectral description of the so-called infinite-dimensional Wishart measures~\cite{W}~ -- ergodic unitarily invariant measures of discrete type on the set of infinite Hermitian matrices; 2) describe the structure of continuous analogs of measures on discrete graded graphs.
New problems and connections which appear are to be considered in new publications.
Multiple Partition Structures and Harmonic Functions on Branching Graphs

We introduce and study multiple partition structures which are sequences of probability measures on families of Young diagrams subjected to a consistency condition. The multiple partition structures are generalizations of Kingman's partition structures, and are motivated by a problem of population genetics. They are related to harmonic functions and coherent systems of probability measures on a certain branching graph. The vertices of this graph are multiple Young diagrams (or multiple partitions), and the edges depend on the Jack parameter. Our main result establishes a bijective correspondence between the set of harmonic functions on the graph and probability measures on the generalized Thoma set. The correspondence is determined by a canonical integral representation of harmonic functions. As a consequence we obtain a representation theorem for multiple partition structures.
We give an example of a multiple partition structure which is expected to be relevant for a model of population genetics for the genetic variation of a sample of gametes from a large population. Namely, we construct a probability measure on the wreath product of a finite group with the symmetric group. The constructed probability measure defines a multiple partition structure which is a generalization of the Ewens partition structure studied by Kingman. We show that this multiple partition structure can be represented in terms of a multiple analogue of the Poisson-Dirichlet distribution called the multiple Poisson-Dirichlet distribution in the paper.

Recently, Schneider and Schneider defined a new class of partitions called sequentially congruent partitions, in which each part is congruent to the next part modulo its index, and they proved two partition bijections involving these partitions. We introduce a new partition notation specific to sequentially congruent partitions which allows us to more easily study these bijections and their compositions, and we reinterpret them in terms of Young diagram transformations. We also define a generalization of sequentially congruent partitions, and we provide several new partition bijections for these generalized sequentially congruent partitions. Finally, we investigate a question of Schneider--Schneider regarding how sequentially congruent partitions fit into Andrews' theory of partition ideals. We prove that the maximal partition ideal of sequentially congruent partitions has infinite order and is therefore not linked, and we identify its order 1 subideals.
