We consider two families of weighted zero-sum constants for finite abelian groups. For a finite abelian group $( G , + )$, a set of weights $W \subset \mathbb{Z}$, and an integral parameter $m$, the $m$-wise Davenport constant with weights $W$ is the smallest integer $n$ such that each sequence over $G$ of length $n$ has at least $m$ disjoint zero-subsums with weights $W$. And, for an integral parameter $d$, the $d$-constrained Davenport constant with weights $W$ is the smallest $n$ such that each sequence over $G$ of length $n$ has a zero-subsum with weights $W$ of size at most $d$. First, we establish a link between these two types of constants and several basic and general results on them. Then, for elementary $p$-groups, establishing a link between our constants and the parameters of linear codes as well as the cardinality of cap sets in certain projective spaces, we obtain various explicit results on the values of these constants.

Let $H$ be a Krull monoid with class group $G$ and suppose that each class contains a prime divisor. Then every element $a \in H$ has a factorization into irreducible elements, and the set $\mathsf L (a)$ of all possible factorization lengths is the set of lengths of $a$. We consider the system $\mathcal L (H) = \{ \mathsf L (a) \mid a \in H \}$ of all sets of lengths, and we characterize (in terms of the class group $G$) when $\mathcal L (H)$ is additively closed under set addition.

In this paper we prove the strong $q$-log-convexity of the Eulerian polynomials of Coxeter groups using their exponential generating functions. Our proof is based on the theory of exponential Riordan arraya and a criterion for determining the strong $q$-log-convexity of polynomials sequences, whose generating functions can be given by the continued fraction. As consequences, we get the strong $q$-log-convexity the Eulerian polynomials of type $A_n,B_n$, their $q$-analogous and the generalized Eulerian polynomials associated to the arithmetic progression $\{a,a+d,a+2d,a+3d,\ldots\}$ in a unified manner.
Automorphism Groups of Geometrically Represented Graphs
We describe a technique to determine the automorphism group of a geometrically represented graph, by understanding the structure of the induced action on all geometric representations. Using this, we characterize automorphism groups of interval, permutation and circle graphs. We combine techniques from group theory (products, homomorphisms, actions) with data structures from computer science (PQ-trees, split trees, modular trees) that encode all geometric representations.
We prove that interval graphs have the same automorphism groups as trees, and for a given interval graph, we construct a tree with the same automorphism group which answers a question of Hanlon [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc 272(2), 1982]. For permutation and circle graphs, we give an inductive characterization by semidirect and wreath products. We also prove that every abstract group can be realized by the automorphism group of a comparability graph/poset of the dimension at most four.
Deligne categories and reduced Kronecker coefficients

The Kronecker coefficients are the structural constants for the tensor categories of representations of the symmetric groups; namely, given three partitions $λ, μ, τ$ of $n$, the multiplicity of $λ$ in $μ\otimes τ$ is called the Kronecker coefficient $g^λ_{μ, τ}$.
When the first part of each of the partitions is taken to be very large (the remaining parts being fixed), the values of the appropriate Kronecker coefficients stabilize; the stable value is called the reduced (or stable) Kronecker coefficient. These coefficients also generalize the Littlewood-Richardson coefficients, and have been studied quite extensively.
In this paper, we show that reduced Kronecker coefficients appear naturally as structure constants of the Deligne categories $\underline{Rep}(S_t)$. This allows us to interpret various properties of the reduced Kronecker coefficients as categorical properties of the categories $\underline{Rep}(S_t)$.

This paper is about the geometry of flip-graphs associated to triangulations of surfaces. More precisely, we consider a topological surface with a privileged boundary curve and study the spaces of its triangulations with n vertices on the boundary curve. The surfaces we consider topologically fill this boundary curve so we call them filling surfaces. The associated flip-graphs are infinite whenever the mapping class group of the surface (the group of self-homeomorphisms up to isotopy) is infinite, and we can obtain moduli spaces of flip-graphs by considering the flip-graphs up to the action of the mapping class group. This always results in finite graphs and we are interested in their geometry.
Our main focus is on the diameter growth of these graphs as n increases. We obtain general estimates that hold for all topological types of filling surface. We find more precise estimates for certain families of filling surfaces and obtain asymptotic growth results for several of them. In particular, we find the exact diameter of modular flip-graphs when the filling surface is a cylinder with a single vertex on the non-privileged boundary curve.

We study two impartial games introduced by Anderson and Harary and further developed by Barnes. Both games are played by two players who alternately select previously unselected elements of a finite group. The first player who builds a generating set from the jointly selected elements wins the first game. The first player who cannot select an element without building a generating set loses the second game. After the development of some general results, we determine the nim-numbers of these games for abelian and dihedral groups. We also present some conjectures based on computer calculations. Our main computational and theoretical tool is the structure diagram of a game, which is a type of identification digraph of the game digraph that is compatible with the nim-numbers of the positions. Structure diagrams also provide simple yet intuitive visualizations of these games that capture the complexity of the positions.

Let $H$ be a Krull monoid with finite class group $G$ such that every class contains a prime divisor (for example, a ring of integers in an algebraic number field or a holomorphy ring in an algebraic function field). The catenary degree $\mathsf c (H)$ of $H$ is the smallest integer $N$ with the following property: for each $a \in H$ and each two factorizations $z, z'$ of $a$, there exist factorizations $z = z_0, ..., z_k = z'$ of $a$ such that, for each $i \in [1, k]$, $z_i$ arises from $z_{i-1}$ by replacing at most $N$ atoms from $z_{i-1}$ by at most $N$ new atoms. To exclude trivial cases, suppose that $|G| \ge 3$. Then the catenary degree depends only on the class group $G$ and we have $\mathsf c (H) \in [3, \mathsf D (G)]$, where $\mathsf D (G)$ denotes the Davenport constant of $G$. It is well-known when $\mathsf c (H) \in \{3,4, \mathsf D (G)\}$ holds true. Based on a characterization of the catenary degree determined in the first paper (The catenary degree of Krull monoids I), we determine the class groups satisfying $\mathsf c (H)= \mathsf D (G)-1$. Apart from the mentioned extremal cases the precise value of $\mathsf c (H)$ is known for no further class groups.

Inspired by a recent paper of Alain Connes and Catherina Consani which connects the geometric theory surrounding the elusive field with one element to sharply transitive group actions on finite and infinite projective spaces ("Singer actions"), we consider several fudamental problems and conjectures about Singer actions. Among other results, we show that virtually all infinite abelian groups and all (possibly infinitely generated) free groups act as Singer groups on certain projective planes, as a corollary of a general criterion. We investigate for which fields $\mathbb{F}$ the plane $\mathbf{P}^2(\mathbb{F}) = \mathbf{PG}(2,\mathbb{F})$ (and more generally the space $\mathbf{P}^n(\mathbb{F}) = \mathbf{PG}(n,\mathbb{F})$) admits a Singer group, and show, e.g., that for any prime $p$ and any positive integer $n > 1$, $\mathbf{PG}(n,\overline{\mathbb{F}_p})$ cannot admit Singer groups. One of the main results in characteristic $0$, also as a corollary of a criterion which applies to many other fields, is that $\mathbf{PG}(m,\mathbb{R})$ with $m \ne 0$ a positive even integer, cannot admit Singer groups.
A criterion concerning Singer groups of generalized quadrangles, and construction of uniform lattices in $\widetilde{\mathbf{C}_2}$-buildings
We describe a simple criterion to construct Singer groups of Payne-derived generalized quadrangles, yielding, as a corollary, a classification of Singer groups of the classical Payne-derived quadrangles in any characteristic. This generalizes recent constructions of Singer groups of these quadrangles that were presented in a paper by Bamberg and Giudici. In the linear case, and several other cases, our classification is complete. Contrary to what seemed to be a common belief, we show that for the classical Payne-derived quadrangles, the number of different Singer groups is extremely large, and even bounded below by an exponential function of the order of the ground field. Our results have direct applications to the theory of $\widetilde{\mathbf{C}_2}$-buildings, which are explained at the end of the paper.
On lattices generated by finite Abelian groups
This paper is devoted to the study of lattices generated by finite Abelian groups. Special species of such lattices arise in the exploration of elliptic curves over finite fields. In case the generating group is cyclic, they are also known as the Barnes lattices. It is shown that for every finite Abelian group with the exception of the cyclic group of order four these lattices have a basis of minimal vectors. Another result provides an improvement of a recent upper bound by Min Sha for the covering radius in the case of the Barnes lattices. Also discussed are properties of the automorphism groups of these lattices.
Multicoloured Random Graphs: Constructions and Symmetry
This is a research monograph on constructions of and group actions on countable homogeneous graphs, concentrating particularly on the simple random graph and its edge-coloured variants. We study various aspects of the graphs, but the emphasis is on understanding those groups that are supported by these graphs together with links with other structures such as lattices, topologies and filters, rings and algebras, metric spaces, sets and models, Moufang loops and monoids. The large amount of background material included serves as an introduction to the theories that are used to produce the new results. The large number of references should help in making this a resource for anyone interested in beginning research in this or allied fields.

On Hochster's formula for a class of quotient spaces of moment-angle complexes

Any finite simplicial complex K and a partition of the vertex set of K determines a canonical quotient space of the moment-angle complex of K. We prove that the cohomology groups of such a space can be computed via some Hochster's type formula, which generalizes the usual Hochster's formula for the cohomology groups of moment-angle complexes. In addition, we show that the stable decomposition of moment-angle complexes can also be extended to such spaces. This type of spaces include all the quasitoric manifolds that are pullback from the linear models. And we prove that the moment-angle complex associated to a finite simplicial poset is always homotopy equivalent to one of such spaces.
Dimension-Free $L^p$-Maximal Inequalities in $\mathbb{Z}_{m+1}^N$
For $m \geq 2$, let $(\mathbb{Z}_{m+1}^N, |\cdot|)$ denote the group equipped with the so-called $l^0$ metric,
\[ |y| = \left| \big( y(1), \dots, y(N) \big) \right| := | \{1 \leq i \leq N : y(i) \neq 0 \} |,\] and define the $L^1$-normalized indicator of the $r$-sphere, \[ σ_r := \frac{1}{|\{|x| = r\}|} 1_{\{|x| =r\}}.\] We study the $L^p \to L^p$ mapping properties of the maximal operator \[ M^{N} f (x) := \sup_{r \leq N} | σ_r*f| \] acting on functions defined on $\mathbb{Z}_{m+1}^N$.
Specifically, we prove that for all $p>1$, there exist absolute constants $C_{m,p}$ so that \[ \| M^{N} f \|_{L^p(\mathbb{Z}_{m+1}^N)} \leq C_{m,p} \| f \|_{L^p(\mathbb{Z}_{m+1}^N)} \] for all $N$.

A pseudo-hyperoval of a projective space $\PG(3n-1,q)$, $q$ even, is a set of $q^n+2$ subspaces of dimension $n-1$ such that any three span the whole space. We prove that a pseudo-hyperoval with an irreducible transitive stabiliser is elementary. We then deduce from this result a classification of the thick generalised quadrangles $\mathcal{Q}$ that admit a point-primitive, line-transitive automorphism group with a point-regular abelian normal subgroup. Specifically, we show that $\mathcal{Q}$ is flag-transitive and isomorphic to $T_2^*(\mathcal{H})$, where $\mathcal{H}$ is either the regular hyperoval of $\PG(2,4)$ or the Lunelli--Sce hyperoval of $\PG(2,16)$.
Preservation of algebraicity in free probability
We show that any matrix-polynomial combination of free noncommutative random variables each having an algebraic law has again an algebraic law. Our result answers a question raised by a recent paper of Shlyakhtenko and Skoufranis. The result belongs to a family of results with origins outside free probability theory, including a result of Aomoto asserting algebraicity of the Green function of random walk of quite general type on a free group.

The \textit{Distinguishing Chromatic Number} of a graph $G$, denoted $χ_D(G)$, was first defined in \cite{collins} as the minimum number of colors needed to properly color $G$ such that no non-trivial automorphism $φ$ of the graph $G$ fixes each color class of $G$. In this paper, we consider random Cayley graphs $Γ(A,S)$ defined over certain abelian groups $A$ and show that with probability at least $1-n^{-Ω(\log n)}$ we have, $χ_D(Γ)\leχ(Γ) + 1$.
