We seek simple conditions on a pair of labeled posets that determine when the difference of their $(P,ω)$-partition enumerators is $F$-positive, i.e., positive in Gessel's fundamental basis. This is a quasisymmetric analogue of the extensively studied problem of finding conditions on a pair of skew shapes that determine when the difference of their skew Schur functions is Schur-positive. We determine necessary conditions and separate sufficient conditions for $F$-positivity, and show that a broad operation for combining posets preserves positivity properties. We conclude with classes of posets for which we have conditions that are both necessary and sufficient.

We consider two examples of a fully decodable combinatorial encoding of Bernoulli schemes: the encoding via Weyl simplices and the much more complicated encoding via the RSK (Robinson--Schensted--Knuth) correspondence. In the first case, the decodability is a quite simple fact, while in the second case, this is a nontrivial result obtained by D.~Romik and P.~Śniady and based on the papers~ \cite{KV}, \cite{VK}, and others. We comment on the proofs from the viewpoint of the theory of measurable partitions; another proof, using representation theory and generalized Schur--Weyl duality, will be presented elsewhere. We also study a new dynamics of Bernoulli variables on $P$-tableaux and find the limit 3D-shape of these tableaux.
On the Homology of Nilpotent k-ary Lie Algebras
We introduce nilpotent k-ary Lie algebras including analogues of Heisenberg Lie algebras and free nilpotent Lie algebras. We study homology of k-ary nilpotent Lie algebras by using a modification of Chevalley-Eilenberg complex. For some classes of nilpotent k-ary Lie algebras and in particular Heisenberg k-ary Lie algebras we give explicit formulas for Betti numbers. Representation stability of free nilpotent k-ary Lie algebras is proven and lower bounds for Betti numbers are described by Schur modules. We also verify that toral rank conjecture holds for the classes we studied. Moreover, for 2-step nilpotent k-ary Lie algebras, we give a refinement of it.

Let (G, +) be an abelian group. A subset of G is sumfree if it contains no elements x, y, z such that x +y = z. We extend this concept by introducing the Schur degree of a subset of G, where Schur degree 1 corresponds to sumfree. The classical inequality S(n) $\le$ R n (3) -- 2, between the Schur number S(n) and the Ramsey number R n (3) = R(3,. .. , 3), is shown to remain valid in a wider context, involving the Schur degree of certain subsets of G. Recursive upper bounds are known for R n (3) but not for S(n) so far. We formulate a conjecture which, if true, would fill this gap. Indeed, our study of the Schur degree leads us to conjecture S(n) $\le$ n(S(n -- 1) + 1) for all n $\ge$ 2. If true, it would yield substantially better upper bounds on the Schur numbers, e.g. S(6) $\le$ 966 conjecturally, whereas all is known so far is 536 $\le$ S(6) $\le$ 1836.

Let $Q$ be an acyclic quiver and $k$ be an algebraically closed field. The indecomposable exceptional modules of the path algebra $kQ$ have been widely studied. The real Schur roots of the root system associated to $Q$ are the dimension vectors of the indecomposable exceptional modules. It has been shown in [Nájera Chávez A., Int. Math. Res. Not. 2015 (2015), 1590-1600] that for acyclic quivers, the set of positive $c$-vectors and the set of real Schur roots coincide. To give a diagrammatic description of $c$-vectors, K-H. Lee and K. Lee conjectured that for acyclic quivers, the set of $c$-vectors and the set of roots corresponding to non-self-crossing admissible curves are equivalent as sets [Exp. Math., to appear, arXiv:1703.09113]. In [Adv. Math. 340 (2018), 855-882], A. Felikson and P. Tumarkin proved this conjecture for 2-complete quivers. In this paper, we prove a revised version of Lee-Lee conjecture for acyclic quivers of type $A$, $D$, and $E_{6}$ and $E_7$.

For a set of positive integers $A \subseteq [n]$, an $r$-coloring of $A$ is rainbow sum-free if it contains no rainbow Schur triple. In this paper we initiate the study of the rainbow Erdős-Rothchild problem in the context of sum-free sets, which asks for the subsets of $[n]$ with the maximum number of rainbow sum-free $r$-colorings. We show that for $r=3$, the interval $[n]$ is optimal, while for $r\geq8$, the set $[\lfloor n/2 \rfloor, n]$ is optimal. We also prove a stability theorem for $r\geq4$. The proofs rely on the hypergraph container method, and some ad-hoc stability analysis.
Alternating sign matrices and totally symmetric plane partitions
We study the Schur polynomial expansion of a family of symmetric polynomials related to the refined enumeration of alternating sign matrices with respect to their inversion number, complementary inversion number and the position of the unique $1$ in the top row. We prove that the expansion can be expressed as a sum over totally symmetric plane partitions and we are also able to determine the coefficients. This establishes a new connection between alternating sign matrices and a class of plane partitions, thereby complementing the fact that alternating sign matrices are equinumerous with totally symmetric self-complementary plane partitions as well as with descending plane partitions. As a by-product we obtain an interesting map from totally symmetric plane partitions to Dyck paths. The proof is based on a new, quite general antisymmetrizer-to-determinant formula.
A construction for weak Schur partitions
In 1952, J.H.Braun claimed to have established a formula giving a lower bound for certain partitions of sets of integers into weakly sum-free classes. However, no proof or supporting construction was published at that time. In today's terminology, that claim was equivalent to giving a formulaic lower bound for the weak Schur number $WS(s)$. $WS(s)$ is the maximum number such that there exists a weak Schur partition of the integers from 1 to $WS(s)$, into $s$ subsets. In a weak Schur partition of a set of integers, there can be no three distinct members $a$, $b$ and $c$ in any subset, such that $a+b=c$. An iterative construction described in this paper results in a similar formulaic lower bound. Although different from that given by Braun, it reproduces the result $WS(6) \ge 554$ implied by his formula, and exceeds it for all larger values of $s$. Various starting points can be used as a basis for the iterations. This result itself is no longer remarkable: it has been proven elsewhere that $WS(6) \ge 642$. Even so, it is hoped that the formula and its underlying construction may nevertheless be of interest to those interested in weak Schur partitions and/or the closely-related linear Ramsey graphs.
Lattice polytopes from Schur and symmetric Grothendieck polynomials

Given a family of lattice polytopes, two common questions in Ehrhart Theory are determining when a polytope has the integer decomposition property and determining when a polytope is reflexive. While these properties are of independent interest, the confluence of these properties is a source of active investigation due to conjectures regarding the unimodality of the $h^\ast$-polynomial. In this paper, we consider the Newton polytopes arising from two families of polynomials in algebraic combinatorics: Schur polynomials and inflated symmetric Grothendieck polynomials. In both cases, we prove that these polytopes have the integer decomposition property by using the fact that both families of polynomials have saturated Newton polytope. Furthermore, in both cases, we provide a complete characterization of when these polytopes are reflexive. We conclude with some explicit formulas and unimodality implications of the $h^\ast$-vector in the case of Schur polynomials.
Differential operators on Schur and Schubert polynomials
This paper deals with decreasing operators on back stable Schubert polynomials. We study two operators $ξ$ and $\nabla$ of degree $-1$, which satisfy the Leibniz rule. Furthermore, we show that all other such operators are linear combinations of $ξ$ and $\nabla$. For the case of Schur functions, these two operators fully determine the product of Schur functions, i.e., it is possible to define the Littlewood-Richardson coefficients only from $ξ$ and $\nabla$. This new point of view on Schur functions gives us an elementary proof of the Giambelli identity and of Jacobi-Trudi identities. For the case of Schubert polynomials, we construct a bigger class of decreasing operators as expressions in terms of $ξ$ and $\nabla$, which are indexed by Young diagrams. Surprisingly, these operators are related to Stanley symmetric functions. In particular, we extend bosonic operators from Schur to Schubert polynomials.
Counting Schur Rings over Cyclic Groups of Semi-prime Order
In this paper, we continue the enumeration of Schur rings over cyclic groups. Cyclic groups of semiprime order $pq$, where $p$ and $q$ are distinct primes, are considered. Additionally, cyclic groups of order $4p$ are considered.

We present several new and compact formulas for the modified and integral form of the Macdonald polynomials, building on the compact "multiline queue" formula for Macdonald polynomials due to Corteel, Mandelshtam, and Williams. We also introduce a new quasisymmetric analogue of Macdonald polynomials. These "quasisymmetric Macdonald polynomials" refine the (symmetric) Macdonald polynomials and specialize to the quasisymmetric Schur polynomials defined by Haglund, Luoto, Mason, and van Willigenburg.

For any positive integer $k$ and nonnegative integer $m$, we consider the symmetric function $G\left( k,m\right)$ defined as the sum of all monomials of degree $m$ that involve only exponents smaller than $k$. We call $G\left( k,m\right)$ a "Petrie symmetric function" in honor of Flinders Petrie, as the coefficients in its expansion in the Schur basis are determinants of Petrie matrices (and thus belong to $\left\{ 0,1,-1\right\} $ by a classical result of Gordon and Wilkinson). More generally, we prove a Pieri-like rule for expanding a product of the form $G\left( k,m\right) \cdot s_μ$ in the Schur basis whenever $μ$ is a partition; all coefficients in this expansion belong to $\left\{ 0,1,-1\right\} $. We also show that $G\left( k,1\right) ,G\left( k,2\right) ,G\left( k,3\right) ,\ldots$ form an algebraically independent generating set for the symmetric functions when $1-k$ is invertible in the base ring, and we prove a conjecture of Liu and Polo about the expansion of $G\left( k,2k-1\right)$ in the Schur basis.

Skew stable Grothendieck polynomials are $K$-theoretic analogues of skew Schur polynomials. We give a free-fermionic presentation of skew stable Grothendieck polynomials and their dual symmetric functions. By using our presentation, we derive a family of determinantal formulas, which are $K$-analogues of the Jacobi-Trudi formula for skew Schur functions. We also introduce a combinatorial method to calculate certain expansions of skew (dual) stable Grothendieck polynomials by using the non-commutative supersymmetric Schur functions.

For the Schur superalgebra $S=S(m|n,r)$ over a ground field $K$ of characteristic zero, we define symmetrizers $T^λ[i:j]$ of the ordered pairs of tableaux $T_i, T_j$ of the shape $λ$ and show that the $K$-span $A_{λ,K}$ of all symmetrizers $T^λ[i:j]$ has a basis consisting of $T^λ[i:j]$ for $T_i,T_j$ semistandard. The $S$-superbimodule $A_{λ,K}$ is identified as %$Δ(λ)^*\otimes_K \nabla(λ)$, where $Δ(λ)^*$ is the dual of the standard supermodule %and $\nabla(λ)$ is the costandard supermodule of the highest weight $λ$. $D_λ\otimes_K D^o_λ$, where $D_λ$ and $D^o_λ$ are left and right irreducible $S$-supermodules of the highest weight $λ$.
We define modified symmetrizers $T^λ\{i:j\}$ and show that their $\mathbb{Z}$-span form a $\mathbb{Z}$-form $A_{λ,\mathbb{Z}}$ of $A_{λ, \mathbb{Q}}$. We show that every modified symmetrizer $T^λ\{i:j\}$ is a $\mathbb{Z}$-linear combination of symmetrizers $T^λ\{i:j\}$ for $T_i, T_j$ semistandard. Using modular reduction to a field $K$ of characteristic $p>2$, we obtain that $A_{λ,K}$ has a basis consisting of modified symmetrizers $T^λ\{i:j\}$ for $T_i, T_j$ semistandard.
Non-orientable branched coverings, $b$-Hurwitz numbers, and positivity for multiparametric Jack expansions

We introduce a one-parameter deformation of the 2-Toda tau-function of (weighted) Hurwitz numbers, obtained by deforming Schur functions into Jack symmetric functions. We show that its coefficients are polynomials in the deformation parameter $b$ with nonnegative integer coefficients. These coefficients count generalized branched coverings of the sphere by an arbitrary surface, orientable or not, with an appropriate $b$-weighting that "measures" in some sense their non-orientability.
Notable special cases include non-orientable dessins d'enfants for which we prove the most general result so far towards the Matching-Jack conjecture and the "$b$-conjecture" of Goulden and Jackson from 1996, expansions of the $β$-ensemble matrix model, deformations of the HCIZ integral, and $b$-Hurwitz numbers that we introduce here and that are $b$-deformations of classical (single or double) Hurwitz numbers obtained for $b=0$.
A key role in our proof is played by a combinatorial model of non-orientable constellations equipped with a suitable $b$-weighting, whose partition function satisfies an infinite set of PDEs. These PDEs have two definitions, one given by Lax equations, the other one following an explicit combinatorial decomposition.
Lifting the dual immaculate functions

We introduce two lifts of the dual immaculate quasisymmetric functions to the polynomial ring. We establish positive formulas for expansions of these dual immaculate slide polynomials into the fundamental slide and quasi-key bases for polynomials. These formulas mirror connections between dual immaculate quasisymmetric functions, fundamental quasisymmetric functions, and Young quasisymmetric Schur functions, extending these connections from the ring of quasisymmetric functions to the full polynomial ring. We also consider a reverse variant of the dual immaculate quasisymmetric functions, mirroring the dichotomy between the quasisymmetric Schur functions and the Young quasisymmetric Schur functions. We show this variant is obtained by taking stable limits of one of our lifts, and utilize these reverse dual immaculate quasisymmetric functions to establish a connection between the dual immaculate quasisymmetric functions and the Demazure atom basis for polynomials.

We give a new interpretation of the shifted Littlewood-Richardson coefficients $f_{λμ}^ν$ ($λ,μ,ν$ are strict partitions). The coefficients $g_{λμ}$ which appear in the decomposition of Schur $Q$-function $Q_λ$ into the sum of Schur functions $Q_λ= 2^{l(λ)}\sum_μg_{λμ}s_μ$ can be considered as a special case of $f_{λμ}^ν$ (here $λ$ is a strict partition of length $l(λ)$). We also give another description for $g_{λμ}$ as the cardinal of a subset of a set that counts Littlewood-Richardson coefficients $c_{μ^tμ}^{\tildeλ}$. This new point of view allows us to establish connections between $g_{λμ}$ and $c_{μ^t μ}^{\tildeλ}$. More precisely, we prove that $g_{λμ}=g_{λμ^t}$, and $g_{λμ} \leq c_{μ^tμ}^{\tildeλ}$. We conjecture that $g_{λμ}^2 \leq c^{\tildeλ}_{μ^tμ}$ and formulate some conjectures on our combinatorial models which would imply this inequality if it is valid.

We study the weighted partition function for lozenge tilings, with weights given by multivariate rational functions originally defined by Morales, Pak and Panova (2019) in the context of the factorial Schur functions. We prove that this partition function is symmetric for large families of regions. We employ both combinatorial and algebraic proofs.

The Stanley-Stembridge conjecture associates a symmetric function to each natural unit interval order $\mathcal P$. In this paper, we define relations à la Knuth on the symmetric group for each $\mathcal P$ and conjecture that the associated $\mathcal P$-Knuth equivalence classes are Schur-positive, refining theorems of Gasharov, Brosnan-Chow, and Guay-Paquet. The resulting equivalence graphs fit into the framework of D graphs studied by Assaf. Furthermore, we conjecture that the Schur expansion is given by column-readings of $\mathcal P$-tableaux that occur in the equivalence class. We prove these conjectures for $\mathcal P$ avoiding two specific suborders by introducing $\mathcal P$-analog of Robinson-Schensted insertion, giving an answer to a long standing question of Chow.
