On the Vanishing Criterion for the Cohomology Groups of the Automorphism Group of a finite Abelian $p$-Group
For a partition $\underlineλ = (λ_{1}^{ρ_1}>λ_{2}^{ρ_2}>λ_{3}^{ρ_3}>\ldots>λ_{k}^{ρ_k})$ and its associated finite abelian $p$-group $\mathcal{A}_{\underlineλ}=\underset{i=1}{\overset{k}{\oplus}} (\mathbb{Z}/p^{λ_i}\mathbb{Z})^{ρ_i}$, where $p$ is a prime, we consider two actions of its automorphism group $\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ}$ on $\mathcal{A}_{\underlineλ}$. The first action is the natural action $g\bullet a=\ ^ga$ for all $g\in\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ}$ and $a\in\mathcal{A}_{\underlineλ}$ where the action map is denoted by $Λ_1=Id_{\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ}}:\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ}\longrightarrow \mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ}$ and the second action is the trivial action $g\bullet a=a$ for all $g\in\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ}$ and $a\in\mathcal{A}_{\underlineλ}$ where the action map is denoted by $Λ_2:\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ}\longrightarrow \{e\}\subset\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ}$ the trivial map. For the natural action $Λ_1$, we show that the first and second cohomology groups $H_{Λ_1}^i(\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ},\mathcal{A}_{\underlineλ}),i=1,2$ vanish for any partition $\underlineλ$ for an odd prime $p$. For the trivial action $Λ_2$ we show that, for an odd prime $p$, the first cohomology group $H_{Λ_2}^1(\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ},\mathcal{A}_{\underlineλ})$ and for an odd prime $p\neq 3$, the second cohomology group $H_{Λ_2}^2(\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ},\mathcal{A}_{\underlineλ})$ vanish if and only if the difference between two successive parts of the partition $\underlineλ$ is at most one. This is done by using the $mod\ p$ cohomologies $H^i(\mathcal{G}_{\underlineλ},\mathbb{Z}/p\mathbb{Z}),i=1,2$.
Double cohomology of moment-angle complexes
Published in Advances in Math. 432 (2023), Paper no. 109274, 34 pp • View PublicationBIB
We put a cochain complex structure ${CH}^*(\mathcal Z_K)$ on the cohomology of a moment-angle complex $\mathcal Z_K$ and call the resulting cohomology the double cohomology, ${HH}^*(\mathcal Z_K)$. We give three equivalent definitions for the differential, and compute ${HH}^*(\mathcal Z_K)$ for a family of simplicial complexes containing clique complexes of chordal graphs.

Covexillary Schubert varieties and Kazhdan-Lusztig Polynomials
Published • View PublicationBIB
We establish combinatorial and inductive formulas for Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials associated to covexillary elements in classical types, extending results of Boe, Lascoux-Schützenberger, Sankaran-Vanchinathan, and Zelevinsky for Grassmannians of classical types. The proof uses intersection cohomology theory and the isomorphism of Kazhdan-Lusztig varieties from Anderson-Ikeda-Jeon-Kawago.

Tropical Poincaré duality spaces
Published • View PublicationBIB
The tropical fundamental class of a rational balanced polyhedral fan induces cap products between tropical cohomology and tropical Borel-Moore homology. When all these cap products are isomorphisms, the fan is said to be a tropical Poincaré duality space. If all the stars of faces also are such spaces, such as for fans of matroids, the fan is called a local tropical Poincaré duality space. In this article, we first give some necessary conditions for fans to be tropical Poincaré duality spaces and a classification in dimension one. Next, we prove that tropical Poincaré duality for the stars of all faces of dimension greater than zero and a vanishing condition implies tropical Poincaré duality of the fan. This leads to necessary and sufficient conditions for a fan to be a local tropical Poincaré duality space. Finally, we use such fans to show that certain abstract balanced polyhedral spaces satisfy tropical Poincaré duality.

The hidden symmetry of Kontsevich's graph flows on the spaces of Nambu-determinant Poisson brackets
Published in Open Communications in Nonlinear Mathematical Physics, Volume 2 (December 2, 2022) ocnmp:8844 • View PublicationBIB
Kontsevich's graph flows are -- universally for all finite-dimensional affine Poisson manifolds -- infinitesimal symmetries of the spaces of Poisson brackets. We show that the previously known tetrahedral flow and the recently obtained pentagon-wheel flow preserve the class of Nambu-determinant Poisson bi-vectors $P=[\![ \varrho(\boldsymbol{x})\,\partial_x\wedge\partial_y\wedge\partial_z,a]\!]$ on $\mathbb{R}^3\ni\boldsymbol{x}=(x,y,z)$ and $P=[\![ [\![\varrho(\boldsymbol{y})\,\partial_{x^1}\wedge\ldots\wedge\partial_{x^4},a_1]\!],a_2]\!]$ on $\mathbb{R}^4\ni\boldsymbol{y}$, including the general case $\varrho \not\equiv 1$. We detect that the Poisson bracket evolution $\dot{P} = Q_γ(P^{\otimes^{\# Vert(γ)}})$ is trivial in the second Poisson cohomology, $Q_γ= [\![ P, \vec{X}([\varrho],[a]) ]\!]$, for the Nambu-determinant bi-vectors $P(\varrho,[a])$ on $\mathbb{R}^3$. For the global Casimirs $\mathbf{a} = (a_1,\ldots,a_{d-2})$ and inverse density $\varrho$ on $\mathbb{R}^d$, we analyse the combinatorics of their evolution induced by the Kontsevich graph flows, namely $\dot{\varrho} = \dot{\varrho}([\varrho], [\mathbf{a}])$ and $\dot{\mathbf{a}} = \dot{\mathbf{a}}([\varrho],[\mathbf{a}])$ with differential-polynomial right-hand sides. Besides the anticipated collapse of these formulas by using the Civita symbols (three for the tetrahedron $γ_3$ and five for the pentagon-wheel graph cocycle $γ_5$), as dictated by the behaviour $\varrho(\mathbf{x}') = \varrho(\mathbf{x}) \cdot \det \| \partial \mathbf{x}' / \partial \mathbf{x} \|$ of the inverse density $\varrho$ under reparametrizations $\mathbf{x} \rightleftarrows \mathbf{x}'$, we discover another, so far hidden discrete symmetry in the construction of these evolution equations.

Mather classes of Schubert varieties via small resolutions
Published • View PublicationBIB
We express a Schubert expansion of the Chern-Mather class for Schubert varieties in the even orthogonal Grassmannian via integrals involving Pfaffians and pushforward of the small resolutions in the sense of Intersection Cohomology (IH) constructed by Sankaran and Vanchinathan, instead of the Nash blowup. The equivariant localization is employed to show the way of computing the integral. As a byproduct, we present the computations. For analogy and the completion of the method in ordinary Grassmannians, we also suggest Kazhdan-Lusztig classes associated to Schubert varieties in the Lagrangian and odd orthogonal Grassmannian.

On cohomology of quasitoric manifolds over a vertex cut of a finite product of simplices
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, we classify the characteristic matrices associated to quasitoric manifolds over a vertex cut of a finite product of simplices. We discuss the integral cohomology rings of these quasitoric manifolds with possibly minimal generators and show several relations among the product of these generators. We classify integral cohomology rings (up to isomorphism as graded rings) of the quasitoric manifolds over the vertex cut of a finite product of simplices.

Filtrations of moduli spaces of tropical weighted stable curves
Published • View PublicationBIB
We study how changing the weight datum $\mathcal{A}=(a_1,...,a_n)\in(\mathbb{Q}\cap(0,1])^n$ affects the topology of tropical moduli spaces $M_{g,\mathcal{A}}^{trop}$, $\overline{M}_{g,\mathcal{A}}^{trop}$ and $Δ_{g,\mathcal{A}}$ and the homology of the latter one. We show that for fixed $g$ and $n$, there are particular filtrations of these topological spaces which we can use to compute the reduced rational homology of $Δ_{g,\mathcal{A}}$ and the top weight cohomology of the moduli space $\mathcal{M}_{g,\mathcal{A}}$ of smooth $(g,\mathcal{A})$-stable algebraic curves.

Cohomology of cluster varieties. II. Acyclic case
Published • View PublicationBIB
In previous work, we initiated the study of the cohomology of locally acyclic cluster varieties. In the present work, we show that the mixed Hodge structure and point counts of acyclic cluster varieties are essentially determined by the combinatorics of the independent sets of the quiver. We use this to show that the mixed Hodge numbers of acyclic cluster varieties of really full rank satisfy a strong vanishing condition.

Cohomology of quasi-abelianized braid groups
Published • View PublicationBIB
We investigate the rational cohomology of the quotient of (generalized) braid groups by the commutator subgroup of the pure braid groups. We provide a combinatorial description of it using isomorphism classes of certain families of graphs. We establish Poincaré dualities for them and prove a stabilization property for the infinite series of reflection groups.

Dolbeault Cohomology of Graphs and Berkovich Curves
We introduce real-valued $(p,q)$-forms on weighted metric graphs with boundary similar to Lagerberg forms on polyhedral spaces. We compute the Dolbeault cohomology and prove Poincaré duality. Using Thuillier's thesis, the skeleton of a strictly semistable formal curve is canonically a weighted metric graph with boundary. We use that and our companion paper on weakly smooth forms to compute the Dolbeault cohomology for weakly smooth forms on any non-Archimedean compact rig-smooth analytic curve $X$, and prove Poincaré duality when $X$ is proper.

Shifted edge labeled tableaux and localizations
We prove cases of a conjectural rule of H. Yadav, A. Yong, and the author for structure coefficients of the D. Anderson-W. Fulton ring. In particular, we give a combinatorial description for certain localization coefficients of this ring, which is related to the equivariant cohomology of isotropic Grassmannians.

Orbit configuration space of standard action and cellular methods of poset
We extend the existing idea of "cellular poset", introduce a collection of "cellular methods" for the computation of homology of intersection lattice of a complicated subspace arrangement, and for the computation of multiplicative structure induced by intersection. As an application, we give a presentation of cohomology ring of orbit configuration space of standard action by cellular methods and a spectral sequence associated with Grothendieck fibration of poset.

Combinatorial and Topological Aspects of Path Posets, and Multipath Cohomology
Published in Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics (2023) • View PublicationBIB
Multipath cohomology is a cohomology theory for directed graphs, which is defined using the path poset. The aim of this paper is to investigate combinatorial properties of path posets, and to provide computational tools for multipath cohomology. In particular, we develop acyclicity criteria, and provide computations of multipath cohomology groups of oriented linear graphs. We further interpret the path poset as the face poset of a simplicial complex, and we investigate realisability problems.

Quadratic heptagon cohomology
A cohomology theory is proposed for the recently discovered heptagon relation -- an algebraic imitation of a 5-dimensional Pachner move 4--3. In particular, `quadratic cohomology' is introduced, and it is shown that it is quite nontrivial, and even more so if compare heptagon with either its higher analogues, such as enneagon or hendecagon, or its lower analogue, pentagon. Explicit expressions for the nontrivial quadratic heptagon cocycles are found in dimensions 4 and 5.

Steenrod Lengths and a Problem of Vakil
We give an explicit combinatorial description of the function $f(n)$ governing the Steenrod length of real projective spaces $\mathbb{RP}^n$. This function arises in stable homotopy theory through the action of Steenrod squares on mod-$2$ cohomology and is closely related to the ghost length, which measures the minimal number of spheres required to construct a space up to homotopy. Building on the directed graphs $T_n$ introduced by Vakil to encode degree constraints for Steenrod operations, we interpret $f(n)$ as the length of the longest directed path starting at $n$. Using this framework, we resolve a question posed by Vakil by deriving concrete combinatorial formulas for $f(n)$ in terms of binary classes and a distinguished family of integers, which we call Vakil numbers.
On intersection cohomology with torus action of complexity one, II
Published • View PublicationBIB
We show that the components, appearing in the decomposition theorem for contraction maps of torus actions of complexity one, are intersection cohomology complexes of even codimensional subvarieties. As a consequence, we obtain the vanishing of the odd dimensional intersection cohomology for rational complete varieties with torus action of complexity one. The article also presents structural results on linear torus action in order to compute the intersection cohomology from the weight matrix. In particular, we determine the intersection cohomology Betti numbers of affine trinomial hypersurfaces in terms of their defining equation.

A Quantization of the Loday-Ronco Hopf Algebra
Published in Esteves, J.N. A Quantization of the Loday-Ronco Hopf Algebra. Algebr Represent Theor (2024) • View PublicationBIB
We propose a quantization algebra of the Loday-Ronco Hopf algebra $k[Y^\infty]$, based on the Topological Recursion formula of Eynard and Orantin. We have shown in previous works that the Loday-Ronco Hopf algebra of planar binary trees is a space of solutions for the genus 0 version of Topological Recursion, and that an extension of the Loday Ronco Hopf algebra as to include some new graphs with loops is the correct setting to find a solution space for arbitrary genus. Here we show that this new algebra $k[Y^\infty]_h$ is still a Hopf algebra that can be seen in some sense to be made precise in the text as a quantization of the Hopf algebra of planar binary trees, and that the solution space of Topological Recursion $\mathcal{A}^h_{\text{TopRec}}$ is a subalgebra of a quotient algebra $\mathcal{A}_{\text{Reg}}^h$ obtained from $k[Y^\infty]_h$ that nevertheless doesn't inherit the Hopf algebra structure. We end the paper with a discussion on the cohomology of $\mathcal{A}^h_{\text{TopRec}}$ in low degree.

Homology representations of compactified configurations on graphs applied to $\mathcal{M}_{2,n}$
Published • View PublicationBIB
We obtain new calculations of the top weight rational cohomology of the moduli spaces $\mathcal{M}_{2,n}$, equivalently the rational homology of the tropical moduli spaces $Δ_{2,n}$, as a representation of $S_n$. These calculations are achieved fully for all $n\leq 10$, and partially -- for specific irreducible representations of $S_n$ -- for $n\le 22$. We also present conjectures, verified up to $n=22$, for the multiplicities of the irreducible representations $\mathrm{std}_n$ and $\mathrm{std}_n\otimes \mathrm{sgn}_n$. We achieve our calculations via a comparison with the homology of compactified configuration spaces of graphs. These homology groups are equipped with commuting actions of a symmetric group and the outer automorphism group of a free group. In this paper, we construct an efficient free resolution for these homology representations, from which we extract calculations on irreducible representations one at a time, simplifying the calculation of these homology representations.

Springer fibers and the Delta Conjecture at $t=0$
Published • View PublicationBIB
We introduce a family of varieties $Y_{n,λ,s}$, which we call the \emph{$Δ$-Springer varieties}, that generalize the type A Springer fibers. We give an explicit presentation of the cohomology ring $H^*(Y_{n,λ,s})$ and show that there is a symmetric group action on this ring generalizing the Springer action on the cohomology of a Springer fiber. In particular, the top cohomology groups are induction products of Specht modules with trivial modules. The $λ=(1^k)$ case of this construction gives a compact geometric realization for the expression in the Delta Conjecture at $t=0$. Finally, we generalize results of De Concini and Procesi on the scheme of diagonal nilpotent matrices by constructing an ind-variety $Y_{n,λ}$ whose cohomology ring is isomorphic to the coordinate ring of the scheme-theoretic intersection of an Eisenbud--Saltman rank variety and diagonal matrices.
