Signed Mahonian Polynomials on Colored Derangements
The polynomial $\sum_{π\in W}q^{maj(π)}$ of major index over a classical Weyl group $W$ with a generating set $S$ is called the Mahonian polynomial over $W$, and also the polynomial $\sum_{π\in W}(-1)^{l(π)}q^{maj(π)}$ of major index together with sign over the group $W$ is called the signed Mahonian polynomial over the group $W$, where $l$ is the length function on $W$ defined in terms of the generating set $S$. We concern with the signed Mahonian polynomial $$\sum_{π\in D_{n}^{(c)}}(-1)^{L(π)}q^{fmaj(π)}$$ on the set $D_{n}^{(c)}$ of colored derangements in the group $G_{c,n}$ of colored permutations, where $L$ denotes the length function defined by means of a complex root system described by Bremke and Malle in $G_{c,n}$ and $fmaj$ defined by Adin and Roichman in $G_{c,n}$ represents the \textit{flag-major index}, which is a Mahonian statistic. As an application of the formula for signed Mahonian polynomials on the set of colored derangements, we will derive a formula to count colored derangements of even length in $G_{c,n}$ when $c$ is an even number. Finally, we conclude by providing a formula for the difference between the number of derangements of even and odd lengths in $G_{c,n}$ for every positive integer $c$, regardless of whether c is odd or even.
Growth Problems of Quantum Groups
We study the asymptotic size of decompositions of tensor powers of tilting modules for quantum groups (mostly at a complex root of unity). In type A1 we obtain a sharp result for the number of indecomposable summands, explained by a one dimensional half-line random walk with a periodic congruence constraint. In general type we prove a universal law: the dominant part is governed only by the dimension of the module, while the correction depends only on the root system, so the asymptotic size is largely independent of the specific tilting module.
A partial order on the 240 packings of PG(3,2)
It has long been known that the most symmetrical solutions of Kirkman's Schoolgirl Problem can be constructed from the $240$ packings of the projective space $PG(3, 2)$, but it seems to have escaped notice that these packings have the structure of a partially ordered set. In this paper, we construct a shellable Bruhat-like graded partial order on the packings of $PG(3, 2)$ that refines the partial order on the product of four chains $[8]\times[5]\times[3]\times[2]$ and defines a Lehmer code on the packings. The partial order exists because the packings of $PG(3, 2)$ form a quasiparabolic set (in the sense of Rains--Vazirani) that is in bijective correspondence with a certain collection of maximal orthogonal subsets of the $E_8$ root system. The $E_8$ construction also induces transitive actions of the Weyl groups of type $D_n$ on the packings for $5 \leq n \leq 8$, and these actions are faithful for $n < 8$. It is possible to define both the signed permutation action and the partial order using the combinatorics of labelled Fano planes.
Products of Chern Classes and Chern Numbers on the Permutohedral Variety
A root system $Φ$ of rank $n$ determines an $n$-dimensional smooth projective toric variety $X(Φ)$ associated with the fan of its Weyl chambers. For the root system of type $A_n$, this variety is the well-known permutohedral variety $X_{A_n}$. Using purely combinatorial methods, we obtain an explicit closed formula expressing the product of Chern classes $c_k c_{n-k}$ as a multiple of the top Chern class $c_n$ in the rational cohomology ring $H^*(X_{A_n};\mathbb{Q})$. The resulting coefficient, which depends only on $k$ and $n$, is given by a closed-form expression. As an application, we compute the Chern number $\langle c_k c_{n-k}, [X_{A_n}] \rangle$.
Approximating the coefficients of the Bessel functions
For the type A, BC, and D root systems, we determine equivalent conditions between the coefficients of an exponential holomorphic function and the asymptotic values taken by the Dunkl bilinear form when one of its entries is the function. We establish these conditions over the $|θN| \rightarrow\infty$ regime for the type A and D root systems and over the $|θ_0 N|\rightarrow \infty, \frac{θ_1}{θ_0 N}\rightarrow c\in\mathbb{C}$ regime for the type BC root system. We also generalize existing equivalent conditions over the $θN \rightarrow c\in\mathbb{C}$ regime for the type A root system and over the $θ_0 N\rightarrow c_0\in\mathbb{C}, \frac{θ_1}{θ_0 N}\rightarrow c_1\in\mathbb{C}$ regime for the type BC root system and prove new equivalent conditions over the $θN \rightarrow c\in\mathbb{C}$ regime for the type D root system. Furthermore, we determine the asymptotics of the coefficients of the Bessel functions over the regimes that we have mentioned.
Structure constants of Peterson Schubert calculus
We give an explicit, positive, and type-uniform formula for all equivariant structure constants of the Peterson Schubert calculus in arbitrary Lie types, using only the Cartan matrix of the corresponding root system $Φ$. As an application, we derive a type-uniform formula for the mixed $Φ$-Eulerian numbers.

We discuss algebraic universality in the sense of P. Vogel for the simplest refined quantity, the Macdonald dimensions. The main known source of universal quantities is given by Chern-Simons theory. Refinement of Chern-Simons theory means introducing additional parameters. At the level of symmetric functions, the refinement is the transition from the Schur functions to the Macdonald polynomials. We consider the Macdonald polynomials associated with the simple Lie algebras, define Macdonald dimensions and dual Macdonald dimensions, and present a universal formula for them that unifies these quantities for algebras associated with simply laced root systems. We also consider mixed Macdonald dimensions that depend on two different root systems.

The general problem of the factorization of a basic hypergeometric series is presented and discussed. The case of the general $_2ψ_2$ series is examined in detail. Connections are found with the theory of basic hypergeometric series on root systems. Alternative proofs of several well-known summation and transformation formulae, including Gustafson's generalization of Ramanujan's $_1ψ_1$ summation, are obtained incidentally.
Signatures of Type $A$ Root Systems
Given a type $A$ root system $Φ$ of rank $n$, we introduce the concept of a signature for each subset $S$ of $Φ$ consisting of $n+1$ positive roots. For a subset $S$ represented by a tuple $(β_1, \ldots, β_{n+1})$, the signature of $S$ is defined as an unordered pair $\{a, b\}$, where $a$ and $b$ denote the numbers of $1$s and $-1$s, respectively, among the cofactors $(-1)^k \det(S \setminus \{β_k\})$ for $1 \le k \le n+1$. We prove that the number of tuples with a given signature can be expressed in terms of classical Eulerian numbers. The study of these signatures is motivated by their connections to the arithmetic and combinatorial properties of cones over deformed arrangements defined by $Φ$, including the Shi, Catalan, Linial, and Ish arrangements. We apply our main result to compute two important invariants of these arrangements: The minimum period of the characteristic quasi-polynomial, and the evaluation of the classical and arithmetic Tutte polynomials at $(1, 1)$.
The $h^*$-polynomials of type C hypersimplices
We study the Ehrhart theory of hypersimplices of type C, as introduced by Lam and Postnikov for general crystallographic root systems. The $h^*$-polynomials of classical hypersimplices are known to relate to various Eulerian statistics on the symmetric group. In this paper, we introduce a new statistic and partial order on signed permutations, which we use to derive explicit formulas for the $h^*$-polynomials of type C hypersimplices. Additionally, we explore connections with other statistics, including flag-excedances and circular descents, flag-descents, and Coxeter descents.
Infinite-dimensional $q$-Jacobi Markov processes
The classical Jacobi polynomials on the interval $[-1,1]$ are eigenfunctions of a second order differential operator. It is well known that this operator generates a diffusion process on $[-1,1]$. Further, this fact admits an extension to $N$ dimensions (Demni (2010), Remling-Rösler (2011)) leading to a $3$-parameter family of diffusion processes $X_N$ on the space of $N$-particle configurations in $[-1,1]$. The generators of the processes $X_N$ are related to Heckman-Opdam's Jacobi polynomials attached to the root system $BC_N$.
The first result of the paper shows that the processes $X_N$ have a $q$-analog, the $N$-dimensional $q$-Jacobi processes. These are Feller Markov processes related to the $N$-variate symmetric big $q$-Jacobi polynomials. The later polynomials were introduced and studied by Stokman (1997) and Stokman-Koornwinder (1997); they depend on two Macdonald parameters $(q,t)$ and $4$ extra continuous parameters.
The $N$-dimensional $q$-Jacobi processes are still defined on a space of $N$-particle configurations, only now the particles live not on $[-1,1]$ but on certain one-dimensional $q$-grids.
The second result (the main one) asserts that the $N$-dimensional $q$-Jacobi processes survive a limit transition as $N$ goes to infinity and two of the extra parameters vary together with $N$ in a certain way. In the limit, one obtains a family of Feller Markov processes which are infinite-dimensional in the sense that they live on configurations with infinitely many particles. The proof uses a lifting of the multivariate big $q$-Jacobi polynomials to the algebra of symmetric functions -- a construction that does not hold for the Heckman-Opdam's Jacobi polynomials.
Note also that the large-$N$ limit transition is carried out without any space scaling, which would be impossible in the continuous case.
The Affine Tamari Lattice
Given a fixed integer $n\geq 2$, we construct two new finite lattices that we call the cyclic Tamari lattice and the affine Tamari lattice. The cyclic Tamari lattice is a sublattice and a quotient lattice of the cyclic Dyer lattice, which is the infinite lattice of translation-invariant total orders under containment of inversion sets. The affine Tamari lattice is a quotient of the Dyer lattice, which in turn is a quotient of the cyclic Dyer lattice and is isomorphic to the collection of biclosed sets of the root system of type $\widetilde{A}_{n-1}$ under inclusion. We provide numerous combinatorial and algebraic descriptions of these lattices using translation-invariant total orders, translation-invariant binary in-ordered trees, noncrossing arc diagrams, torsion classes, triangulations, and translation-invariant noncrossing partitions. The cardinalities of the cyclic and affine Tamari lattices are the Catalan numbers of types $B_n$ and $D_n$, respectively. We show that these lattices are self-dual and semidistributive, and we describe their decompositions coming from the Fundamental Theorem of Finite Semidistributive Lattices. We also show that the rowmotion operators on these lattices have well-behaved orbit structures, which we describe via the cyclic sieving phenomenon. Our new combinatorial framework allows us to prove that the lengths of maximal green sequences for the completed path algebra of the oriented $n$-cycle are precisely the integers in the interval $[2n-1,\binom{n+1}{2}]$.
Extended weak order for the affine symmetric group
The extended weak order on a Coxeter group $W$ is the poset of biclosed sets in its root system. In (Barkley-Speyer 2024), it was shown that when $W=\widetilde{S}_n$ is the affine symmetric group, then the extended weak order is a quotient of the lattice $L_n$ of translation-invariant total orderings of the integers. In this article, we give a combinatorial introduction to $L_n$ and the extended weak order on $\widetilde{S}_n$. We show that $L_n$ is an algebraic completely semidistributive lattice. We describe its canonical join representations using a cyclic version of Reading's non-crossing arc diagrams. We also show analogous statements for the lattice of all total orders of the integers, which is the extended weak order on the symmetric group $S_\infty$. A key property of both of these lattices is that they are profinite; we also prove that a profinite lattice is join semidistributive if and only if its compact elements have canonical join representations. We conjecture that the extended weak order of any Coxeter group is a profinite semidistributive lattice.
Oriented Matroid Circuit Polytopes
Matroids give rise to several natural constructions of polytopes. Inspired by this, we examine polytopes that arise from the signed circuits of an oriented matroid. We give the dimensions of these polytopes arising from graphical oriented matroids and their duals. Moreover, we consider polytopes constructed from cocircuits of oriented matroids generated by the positive roots in any type A root system. We give an explicit description of their face structure and determine the Ehrhart series. We also study an action of the symmetric group on these polytopes, giving a full description the subpolytopes fixed by each permutation. These type A polytopes are graphic zonotopes, are polar duals of symmetric edge polytopes, and also make an appearance in Stapledon's paper introducing Equivariant Ehrhart Theory.
Young diagrams, deformed Calogero-Moser systems and Cayley graphs
Let ${\mathtt{k}}$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero and $n, m$ coprime positive integers. Let ${\stackrel{\rm o}{\mathfrak{g}}}$ be the Lie superalgebra ${\mathfrak{gl}}(n|m)$ with root system $Δ$. Using $Δ$, Sergeev and Veselov, \cite{SV2} introduced an action of the Weyl groupoid ${\mathcal{W}}$, in connection with their study of the the Grothendieck group of finite dimensinonal graded $\mathfrak{g}$-modules. We denote the subgroupoid of ${\mathcal{W}}$ with morphisms corresponding to isotropic roots by $\mathfrak T_{iso}$.
Later, \cite{SV101} the same authors defined an action of ${\mathcal{W}}$ on $X={\mathtt{k}}^{n|m}$ such that the invariant algebra ${\mathcal{O}}(X)^{\mathcal{W}}$ is isomorphic to the algebra of quantum integrals for the deformed Calogero-Moser system introduced in \cite{SV1}. This completely integrable system depends on a non-zero parameter $κ$. When $κ=-m/n$ we study a certain infinite $\mathfrak T_{iso}$-orbit {\bf O} for this action. %which appears in \cite{SV101} Equation (14). The Cayley graph for this orbit is isomorphic to the Cayley graphs for two other actions of $\mathfrak T_{iso}$ which were studied in \cite{M23}.
A family of orthogonal functions on the unit circle and a new multilateral matrix inverse
Using Bailey's very-well-poised $_6ψ_6$ summation, we show that a specific sequence of well-poised bilateral basic hypergeometric $_3ψ_3$ series form a family of orthogonal functions on the unit circle. We further extract a bilateral matrix inverse from Dougall's ${}_2H_2$ summation which we use, in combination with the Pfaff--Saalschütz summation, to derive a summation for a particular bilateral hypergeometric $_3H_3$ series. We finally provide multivariate extensions of the bilateral matrix inverse and the $_3H_3$ summation in the setting of hypergeometric series associated to the root system $A_r$.
On the Classification of Schubert Varieties in Partial Flag Varieties
We generalize the classification of isomorphism classes of Schubert varieties in complete flag varieties G/B to a class of partial flag varieties G/P. In particular, we classify all Schubert varieties in G/P where P is a minimal parabolic subgroup and all Schubert surfaces. We also obtain several pairs of isomorphisms of Schubert varieties from folding the root system. This allows us to find an upper bound of the cardinality of isomorphism classes of Schubert three-folds.
Wonderful Compactification of a Cartan Subalgebra of a Semisimple Lie Algebra
Let $\mathfrak h$ be a Cartan subalgebra of a complex semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak g.$ We define a compactification $\bar {\mathfrak h}$ of $\mathfrak h$, which is analogous to the closure $\bar H$ of the corresponding maximal torus $H$ in the adjoint group of $\mathfrak g$ in its wonderful compactification, which was introduced and studied by De Concini and Procesi \cite{DCP}. We observe that $\bar {\mathfrak h}$ is a matroid Schubert variety and prove that the irreducible components of the boundary $\bar {\mathfrak h} - \mathfrak h$ of $\mathfrak h$ are divisors indexed by root system data. We prove that $\bar {\mathfrak h}$ is a normal variety and find an affine paving of $\bar {\mathfrak h},$ where the strata are given by the orbits of $\mathfrak h.$ We show that the strata of $\bar {\mathfrak h}$ correspond bijectively to subspaces of the corresponding Coxeter hyperplane arrangement studied by Orlik and Solomon, and prove that the associated posets are isomorphic. As a consequence, we express the Betti numbers of $\bar {\mathfrak h}$ in terms of well-known combinatorial invariants in the classical cases. We show that the Weyl group $W$ acts on $\bar {\mathfrak h}$, and describe $H^{\bullet}(\bar {\mathfrak h}, \mathbb C)$ as a representation of $W$, and compute the cup product for $H^{\bullet}(\bar {\mathfrak h}, \mathbb Z)$.
$c$-functions and Koornwinder polynomials
This paper develops the theory of Macdonald-Koornwinder polynomials in parallel analogy with the work done for the $GL_n$ case in [CR22]. In the context of the type $CC_n$ affine root system the Macdonald polynomials of other root systems of classical type are specializations of the Koornwinder polynomials. We derive $c$-function formulas for symmetrizers and use them to give $E$-expansions, principal specializations and norm formulas for bosonic, mesonic and fermionic Koornwinder polynomials. Finally, we explain the proof of the norm conjectures and constant term conjectures for the Koornwinder case.
Oriented matroid structures on rank 3 root systems
We show that, given a rank 3 affine root system $Φ$ with Weyl group $W$, there is a unique oriented matroid structure on $Φ$ which is $W$-equivariant and restricts to the usual matroid structure on rank 2 subsystems. Such oriented matroids were called oriented matroid root systems in Dyer-Wang (2021), and are known to be non-unique in higher rank. We also show uniqueness for any finite root system or "clean" rank 3 root system (which conjecturally includes all rank 3 root systems).
